We rested in Egypt for the first time in 2000 and after that we were in this country 5 more times, then there were no direct flights from Kyiv, we flew through Cairo and were always satisfied with the rest. Now, October 2018, we are resting at the Novotel Palm 5 * hotel in Sharm El Sheikh and it's a nightmare! To say that we are unpleasantly surprised by the changes that have taken place in the hotels of Egypt in recent years, it's like saying nothing!
Upon checking into the room, they immediately noticed that the sink in the washbasin was clogged and the water did not drain, and the drain tank did not work in the toilet, and therefore the issue was immediately addressed to the reception, then twice more. On the second day, in the evening, they only solved this problem, but the question remains: how could the room be prepared for settlement and not see these problems? There is only one answer: they simply did not remove it !!!
The plastic chairs on the terrace are not white, but almost black due to dirt and dust adhering to them, most likely they have never been washed since the moment of purchase.

Near the pool, which is located closer to the reception, there is a smell of cat urine and this indicates that the floors are cleaned very superficially and dishonestly.
Regarding the kitchen, there is a separate conversation: there is always not enough dishes, there are chronically no plates or cups, or when they bring dishes (by the way, not always clean) - the food runs out and you have to wait again; everything is bland and monotonous, fruits are only for lunch and dinner: dates and bananas, a couple of times we saw grapes and melon trimmings.
On the fourth day of our stay at the Novotel Palm 5 * hotel, we never changed bed linen and did not replenish toiletries (soap, shower gel, shampoo... Initially, upon check-in, toiletries were generally only for one person, but we did not began to focus on this, because there were more global problems at that time. Well, think about it, I forgot, tomorrow it will be put. It turns out No! The person who cleans comes regularly, just stupidly opens the room, takes one dollar and leaves! We have not seen such impudence in no country, although we often travel around the world by car and air. To resolve the issue, we contacted the reception and our hotel guide Join Up. The guide laughed it off, saying that you need to leave more than one dollar and promised that there would be no more problems. Regarding shampoo, gel and soap, everything became normal, but no one changed the bed and towels. On the morning of the fifth day of our stay at Novotel Palm 5 *, we wet all the towels and bro they left on the floor, in addition, they left a note with a polite request to change bed linen and towels, left, as usual, a tip and went to the sea. After dinner, returning to the room just fucking! He took the money, hung our dirty and wet towels in their places, did not change the bed linen. When we saw all this, he was cleaning just the next room and we approached him with claims, which we stated in writing in the morning in the form of a request, but he calmly asked again: “Change? Ok, in five minutes! " We waited 50 minutes until the bed was changed, and then another 30 until the towels were brought, we could neither wash nor lie down to rest.
We are trying to understand why they have such an attitude to work, to their duties, to people who give them the opportunity to earn money, and many other reasons. Why, upon arriving at this hotel, we have to beg for soap, shampoo, toilet paper, shower gel, clean towels and clean bedding? The dollar is no longer suitable? Is it too little? So this is an encouragement for good work, and not for the fact that it is generally ignored! Why, after so many calls and requests to the reception, no one responds to all this? If the person who cleans the rooms does not know how to do this job, then he should be taught, and if he simply does not want to work or does it somehow, then he should be fired.
