We rested in Savoy in November 2008. I will say right away - before that I was in a lot of places: in Italy, Germany, I constantly travel to the States, etc. except for Egypt. Literally in May last year was in Venice. But only last year, for the first time, my wife and I decided to go to Turkey and Egypt - before that, we simply did not dare to go to the places of the total rookery of tourists from the CIS. The trip to Turkey was completely disappointed. He said that my foot would not be there anymore. But after 3 months, they nevertheless ventured to go to Egypt, also for the first time. As you understand, we treated the trip very cautiously, with a great deal of skepticism. Friends of ours arranged a Boutique Tour for us. Tanyusha, the owner of the company, turned out to be just super-special. After listening to our outpourings, she offered us several hotels to choose from, warning us in advance that Egypt is not Turkey, everything could be even worse. But we decided to take a chance and did not regret it.
We traveled with three children, so only Savoy came up to us (other hotels did not accommodate the whole family in one family-room).
Despite the fact that the hotel is not far from the airport, we booked a private transfer. If you don’t feel sorry for a couple of hundred uev, I recommend that everyone do this. Firstly, do not worry about loading and transporting a crowd of tourists to / from hotels. Secondly, the attitude towards you in the hotel itself, as I understand it, is also changing somewhat. They brought us already dark (well, November, after all, it gets dark already at 5-6 pm). They settled in almost immediately. For control, I gave twenty at the reception, although in my opinion this did not change anything - not many people book rooms in the family building. The location of the building from the point of view of many is unfortunate - on the farthest line from the beach. But from the point of view of us, as a family with children, it is just perfect. Firstly, close to the reception and the central building, where the main and children's restaurants are located.

Secondly, there is a separate children's pool and a playground, which is very convenient - you can let the children frolic before breakfast, looking at them from the balcony. From inconvenient - we were given a room on the second floor, where it was not convenient to drag a pram. But on reflection, we decided not to move to the first floor, because in the evening you are in the room, as if behind a shop window - from the street you can see everything that happens inside.
There are many restaurants in the area. But after going to several restaurants, we realized that butter-butter - all the same can be found in the main restaurant, and without pre-ordering and waiting.
On the very first evening, when we arrived at the restaurant, we realized that there was a difference with that Turkish hotel - we were asked to have dinner on the terrace in shorts, since you can only wear trousers in the main hall. The terrace overlooks the central part of the hotel with three swimming pools. During the day, a large island can be seen in the distance.
There seems to be a marine reserve, but we never got there. On the first evening, the area illuminated by lights simply fascinated us. Calm live music was playing in the restaurant downstairs.
As for the food - we took Ultra ALL Inclusive, I recommend it to everyone. Having previously calculated other options, we came to the conclusion that the costs will be similar, but you will constantly worry about what is paid and what is free. Compared to Turkey, the number of dishes was much less. There was no that mass of oriental sweets. But in terms of quality - wow, what a difference! It feels like every dish was really COOKED. I especially liked the seafood dishes.
The staff is very friendly. There is a feeling that the recruiting service selects only young, optimistic and happy people in life. In the restaurant they began to quickly recognize us (well, still, such a gang! ). We liked a couple of waiters.

For our part, despite the ultra-inclusiveness, we did not forget to leave them a couple of dollars. So on the third day, at any time, there was a four-seater table for us by the window overlooking the sea, they were already aware of our preferences, they knew that I would have a double coffee, and my wife would have a mango fresh, etc. A couple of times when we came at the end of dinner, they didn’t even touch us, although according to the rules, everyone is kicked out, since they are cleaning and are very strict with this (I myself watched how even soft chairs were upholstered with a damp towel). We were greeted everywhere with a smile and jokes, there are many young guys among the staff. Many people know Russian. In addition, we communicate fluently in English. Therefore, there were never any problems with the language.
Regarding the cleaning in the room - I would say that for 4-, although they left a couple of dollars regularly. It just depends on the person. But if you call and clearly indicate what is wrong, they will fix it and pick it up. In one case, once even snitched at the reception.
They obviously took action there. I immediately recommend feeding the room service with tips and reminding you how many towels, soap, shampoo are required, when you need to change slippers, etc. They are a bit tight with this - you need to remind them.
The audience is really a lot of Russians and Ukrainians, even despite the autumn season. But at the same time, there were Balts, Italians, Germans, French, a couple from Switzerland. Many said that they have been coming here for more than a year. By the way, during our holiday, the owner of the hotel arrived - an old Italian with his wife and daughter (or with his mother and mistress : )). From the behavior of the waiters, it immediately became clear who he was. At first we even thought that some local politician had arrived. They sat at the table next to us, they were served exactly the same dishes that were in the restaurant to choose from that evening. In addition, the chef came to him - also an Italian, they discussed something quite calmly.
Then I repeatedly met this cook in a children's restaurant when he went there and personally checked all the dishes. This once again convinced me that food is really under control.
The beach is sand. Quite decent by Egyptian standards. When riding a banana, we saw the beaches of other hotels - there are solid stone terraces to the sea. Lots of loungers. When towels were taken, one of the employees immediately helped us to settle where it was convenient for us. If there was not enough sunbed, he left and brought sunbeds from another place.

You can enter the water from the beach only a meter from the shore - corals begin further, and the lifeguards on duty do not let you in. But at both ends of the beach there are pontoons that go over the reef and lead out into the sea, where the reef drops sharply down by 4-5 meters. The reef is beautiful. Apparently, therefore, boats from other hotels with divers constantly sail to this beach.
There is a big minus in this - sometimes a kerosene film floats on the water if the arriving boat has problems with the engine. But I only noticed this once.
Diving - despite the fact that the hotel has its own diving center, we did not like it. Some kind of bespontovy center for visiting suckers. I am certified and dive up to 30 meters. I did not receive a single answer to my questions that inspires confidence. However, on the very first evening, the Germans betrothed us to a German diving center in Sharks Bay, Shiny Divers (the chef's name is Klaus). There we dived. You need to call them up, they send a delivery, then they bring it back to the hotel gate. True, at that time there were no Russian-speaking instructors there. Of course we didn't have a problem. But a couple of times Russians came there, and it was somewhat difficult for them to communicate with the Germans. Although then they still plunged and seemed to be very pleased.
By the way, by the way, what many people consider as a measure of quality is that the Germans are resting in the hotel - once, on a delivery from a diving center, I had a chance to drive through those places where the Germans really rest. These are some third-line motels on the other side of the airport that our people would never live in. It's full of Germans and Dutch. So here it is!

What was bad:
Once, a Negro who smoked shamelessly was placed in our next room. We ended up in a room full of smoke in the middle of the night. When I cleared where the smoke came from, I knocked on his room, peacefully explained that we had children (smoke seeped through a common door in the wall between the rooms. It turns out that these rooms can be combined into one, apparently for large families) Then I had to complain to the reception . They first suggested thinking about any other number. At 3 o'clock in the morning they gave a person with whom I looked at other options. But the rooms in other buildings are smaller than in the family.

Therefore, they had to deal with the Negro themselves. I never met him again.

Once a child dropped soap in the shower. The soap is small, and the grid on the drain turned out to be loose. As a result, the soap was washed down the pipe, where it got stuck. The pipe is clogged. On demand, they sent us a plumber who tried to clean the drain for an hour. It seems to have cleared it, but in the morning it clogged again. Then the man was sent again. I don’t know how much he fiddled, we went to the beach. But by the evening everything was in order.

From the side of the airport, sometimes the evening brings the smell of exhaust fumes. But this is heard only in a certain place on the alley overlooking an open area. Plus only if the wind blows to the sea, which is rare. Usually the opposite.

In general, the hotel was very satisfied. Rest was a success. The youngest, who had previously suffered 7 (!!! ) bronchitis with two obstructions in a row for 8 months, after that he completely recovered. Now it is already April, and thank God we have already forgotten about bronchitis.
I don't know, maybe we just got lucky. But at the time of our stay in the hotel, almost everything was just super.
