I never write reviews, but I decided to write because I chose this hotel because of the very good reviews on this site. We go to Egypt with my family to rest every six months, so we have seen quite a few hotels. This time we went with friends. We were brought to the hotel after 20:00, and immediately sent to have dinner, after dinner at the reception they received cards from the rooms and the porters dragged us (on foot) to the rooms, I’ll immediately say that the territory is stupid, there are many steps and some concrete fences.

Since for the first time we chose the hotel precisely because of the good reviews (usually it’s always the other way around: the reviews are bad, but in fact the hotel is good), when we entered the room, we were unpleasantly shocked by the family room we saw: old shabby cheap plywood furniture everywhere and the same dilapidated repair , a small toilet with a shower, with the smell of old age and urine, and all this under the ventilation buzzing like a tractor.

We really experienced shock and disappointment with my husband and children, since at the time of purchase the Sunrise Diamond Beach Resort was more expensive than those 5-star hotels that we considered and where we had already had a chance to rest, including more expensive than the hotels where we had a rest the last two times and they are next door to this: Otium Hotel Amphoras and Monte Carlo Sharm Resort, so compared to them, Sunrise Diamond did not stand next to them either in terms of service or the state of the room stock, and even more so in terms of the convenience and beauty of the territory.

It was very embarrassing in front of disappointed friends, whom, it was we who knocked on this hotel, there were 10 of us in total, of which 4 were children. The hotel would be quite good if its price was $300 per person, but for the category of hotels with a price over $600 per person, this is a complete inconsistency.
That evening, they didn’t change our numbers, at the reception they said that we had good rooms, they changed only two friends, who were settled in a broken-down kopeck piece with a door leading to a neighbor’s room to strangers (complete trash), but they didn’t change them much the best room is also far from us. And since the children and I and another couple with children were already very tired, we decided in the morning to resolve the issue with the numbers with our guide.

The next day, our guide said that we can change the room after 15:00 (that is, for almost a whole day not to unpack our suitcases while waiting for the move), but when we arrived at the reception at the agreed time, the staff said that they would give us a choice of two more of the same rooms, but if we want a renovated room with new furniture, then we need to pay another $ 60, because we didn’t want to walk in the heat looking for and changing the awl for soap, we decided to immediately pay extra so that we would be settled in a good room with a fresh renovation.
After all the torment, we were happy to get the keys to a good room in the sector with updated rooms, which, moreover, was half empty, and there were enough free rooms with repairs, but the reception staff settles in old crap rooms - tin.


As for the food, it is not bad by the standards of Egypt, there is a choice of meat, fish dishes, sweets. The restaurant itself is more like a canteen, there are almost no napkins anywhere, there are not enough cutlery, if you want to give a dollar, but there is no one, since everything you need to look for yourself, the waiter can bring a highchair only to Italians and their Arabs, there is a special attitude to this category of vacationers .
The hotel itself and the area is not quite convenient, especially for those with strollers, there are a lot of steps everywhere, you need to first go down to the restaurant with a stroller in your hands, and then go up and so 3 times a day without an elevator (this was not in any 5-ke where I had a chance to rest, the vegetation on the territory is rather poor: palm trees and grass, everything on the territory is old, shabby, even paving slabs. Compared to the neighboring hotel Monte Carlo Sharm Resort, where we rested this year in May and which for some reason is cheaper, This hotel does not qualify for 5 stars in any way.

Objectively, the good things about Sunrise are the water park, the food, the reef.
Separately, I’ll say about Anekstur, we won’t go with this operator anymore, deception is at every step, besides, even in Kyiv, when buying tickets on purpose (so as not to lose a day of rest), they paid $ 50 extra per person, just for an evening flight back home, but for In fact, this was done in vain, because despite the surcharge, they changed the departure time for us in the morning, and in fact, stealing the day we paid for.

When going to this hotel, take bags with you, they will come in handy for lunch boxes, because they simply do not exist in this 5-star hotel, and you will have to pack your own food into something when you leave, with plastic or paper boxes , for our tourists there is tension, they will football you from the reception to the canteen, and from the canteen to the reception.

We were lucky, after a small scandal and communication with the guide, they found several foam plates for us at the reception, which we simply wrapped with stretch.
