Wine is normal, beer is bitter (for my taste). Because we went on the all-inclusive system, often visited the bar, the impression was that the bartender was a little scoffing, because. if you ask for a glass of water and coffee, I heard one thing, and as soon as I ordered cocktails (for a fee) from 4 positions I was not mistaken in anything, but these are trifles. In general, the staff is friendly and smiling (as well as everything in Crete). Although the towels were changed only after you throw them on the floor and you had to ask for soap (again, little things).
From the excursions they took Fr. Santarinia is the most expensive, but it's worth it, I won't write about it. Much has been written about Santarinia (Fira). They took a car for 3 days, but not in a row, so that the vacation would not resemble the pursuit of novelty, they alternated. For this, we were given tickets to the Water Park, as a result, out of 11 days of our stay in Crete, we devoted only 3 days to the pure beach. In my opinion, after the Egyptian temples (they were in Luxor), the Cretan palaces and forts are rather boring (they were in Fort Rethymnia, the Palace of Knossos and the Malian Palace), it’s better to walk around their towns. I was very impressed by Agios Nikolaos, Rethymno and Agia Galinia (in the south of the island), unfortunately they did not have time to Chania. But we got to Palm Beach - a palm paradise..... impressive. In general, if someone had advised earlier, I would not waste time on palaces, but it would be better to walk along the streets.
From the local cuisine, I was impressed by frappe coffee (cold with ice), octopus, moussaka and chev salad. Although the taverns are not often visited because of the all-inclusive (on the eve of the trips, they ordered a lunch box).
Finally, I will say. In Crete everyone will find what he likes. If you are a TRAVELER, settle in the city, take excursions and cars, go and explore. If a beach holiday is closer to you, choose a hotel outside the city and enjoy the sea and the beach (by the way, about the beach), it is often rocky there or interspersed with stones. But the sea is interesting, of course it does not reach the Red Sea, but it is clearly more interesting than Turkish. T. The firmly planted smell of mustiness and dampness did not leave us any chance to close the balcony door even for a minute. Another surprise was the bathroom - it was not just an old shower, but just a curtain with something in the form of a sink on the floor from which the water stubbornly did not want to come out, in order to wash your hair and not flood the bathroom, you had to take 2 to 3 breaks of 5 -7 minutes.
In such conditions, we lasted exactly half the time, the last straw was the tile that fell off the wall while taking a shower, which fell a centimeter from my foot!
After that, we were nevertheless generously moved to a room with more acceptable conditions, although there were broken bulbs and an air conditioner pouring water on the table.
It's also worth mentioning about the cleaning - cleaners have a habit of forgetting to change towels, so you have to gesture to remind them of this!
Food... with an assortment of the most TROUBLE! Fruit for breakfast and meat, grilled fish (well, or at least not stewed! ) - turned out to be an unaffordable luxury! On most days, the main thing is me “a la Beryozki boarding house” somewhere in Melekino. Although goodies are rare, but still met.

The room has a shower room, a double bed, a regular TV (one Russian-language channel "Russia") and, of course, air conditioning. There is a magnetic key fob on the room keys that activates electrical appliances (it is forbidden to remove it from the keys) when you leave the air conditioner turned off, and in order to come from the heat to a cool room, we removed the key fob from the keys and left the conder on. I do not advise you to do this in the morning, as the rooms are cleaned before lunch. Not far from the hotel there is an entertaining youth beach "Golden Star" where a lot of entertainment including Jumping on an elastic band from a crane mast. On the bad - Expensive excursions that your professional guide will sell you. We took only one to Grmvusa as the object was very far away. We paid 150 euros for a guide for two. The guide hurried us, referring to the possible lack of places on the ship, since this excursion is by sea. Throughout Crete, car rental, motorcycle rental is very developed, the cost is from 15 euros per day, depending on the engine size. We visited Knossos Palace, Losseti Plateau and Peshara Zeus, Agios Nikolaos, Spinalonga. Most importantly, we didn’t drive along the central roads, which allowed us to see not a resort, but rural Greece and many such places where excursions are not carried out (a map from the water park’s advertising booklet that you are given upon arrival is enough to travel). There is no need to be afraid of getting lost. There are signs on the roads even in the middle of nowhere and along the way, signs to the sights. The local population is friendly, hospitable and friendly people! If you have a driver's license, feel free to take transport and visit all the excursions on your own, you will see much more than sitting on the bus. Almost every place of excursions has a Russian-speaking guide. I will not describe the places of excursions, since their descriptions are enough, I will say one of the greatest impressions was the trip to the Losseti plateau, driving for a long time along the serpentine among the rocks and cliffs, a view of the paradise plain surrounded by mountains. Filled with greenery, it meets you with clean cool air. It feels like the mountains separate this place from the surrounding world from its worries, problems, fuss and life here flows slowly like pure spring water and time seems to have stopped.
