Hello everyone. Before flying to the Creta Residense 3 * hotel, I did not find a single fresh review, so after visiting it I decided to write. I went with my wife, compared it with previous hotels in Turkey, Egypt, Cyprus, there is one "but": there were hotels not lower than 4 *. In general, we were there from 06/01/19 to 06/08/19, meals - all inclusive, arrived at about 20.

Hello everyone. Before flying to the Creta Residense 3 * hotel, I did not find a single fresh review, so after visiting it I decided to write. I went with my wife, compared it with previous hotels in Turkey, Egypt, Cyprus, there is one "but": there were hotels not lower than 4 *.
In general, we were there from 06/01/19 to 06/08/19, meals - all inclusive, arrived at about 20.00, met us normally, settled in, fed dinner.
Upon arrival, payment of some kind of tax fee of 1.5 € per day.
Beach towel 1 € per day (optional, you can bring your own).
Safe at the reception 1 € per day. WiFi is free, it catches normally throughout the territory. Restaurant opening hours: 8-10.13-14.17-21, bar until 22.00. I would like, as in previous hotels, at least until 23.
Menu:
in the morning - scrambled eggs or scrambled eggs, salad, pastries, cheese, sausage, cereal;
lunch - a couple of types of meat, sausages, stewed cabbage, pasta, potatoes, rice, lasagna (not all at once, but intermittently, usually 6 hot dishes and about the same number of cold appetizers), salads;
dinner - about the same as for lunch, sometimes + soup (for some reason in the evening, not at lunch);
beer, wine, vodka local at lunchtime and in the evening. Here I immediately want to write (I don’t drink alcohol at lunch), when in the evening you go for a beer for the third time (0.33), then the bartender somehow pours it (there is an expression on his face - as much as you can already... ).
When we went on an excursion early in the morning, they gave a dry ration in a bag (you need to warn in advance in the evening), but when we left the hotel also early in the morning, they didn’t give anything, they said "you can drink coffee with a cupcake on the spot. " Because we were counting on dry rations and there was no time to drink coffee, I asked to take a cupcake with me, they didn’t give it, we were upset.
Interior:
rooms about 12 m2, bathroom with toilet, balcony with a table and two chairs, a small refrigerator, air conditioning, TV with regular periodic freeze programs, hair dryer (better to take your own). There is no iron in the room (I had my own, so I did not ask at the reception).
The room was cleaned every day, no complaints.
Exterior:
a neat three-story building with about 50 rooms, a small restaurant - about 20 tables inside and about 10 outside, a small pool about 10? there are 4-5 meters of pebbles in the sea, there are no chaise lounges and an umbrella on the beach, but there is a discount for nearby hotels: two chaise lounges under an umbrella 5 € per day, this is cheap for Crete, walked along the coast a little further, there 6 € one sun lounger. The nearest cafes in the village are 5 minutes away. It takes 15 minutes to get to the city of Rethymno by bus, the cost is 1.3 € per person. Around the mountain, the view is beautiful, but at the entrance to the hotel, on the contrary - a wasteland with dry grass.
In general, the hotel has 3 stars and the rating is also 3, there are pluses, but there are also minuses: service in the bar and a bad attitude when leaving (i. e. since you are already leaving, then they are no longer interested in you....).
By the way, just for information (the hotel has nothing to do with it), the transfer landed on the road without approaching the hotel 500 meters, a very narrow road, parked cars interfere. And yet, we did not find any nightclubs and cafes with loud music and dancing in the village, only light, quiet Greek music. There is a supermarket not bad in 10 minutes, for comparison: beer 0.5 liters. in a cafe 3.5 €, in the market the same 1.5 €. Water is not expensive: 0.3 € - 1.5 l. , 1.1 € - 5 l.

We were at the Creta Residence with my husband and 2 children in July 2013. Good hotel, warm atmosphere, lived like one friendly family. The hotel staff are wonderful, no words) The hotel itself is small, cozy, clean. The territory is small, like most Cretan hotels, but clean, there is a children's pool.

We went on excursions from Aneks, it's safer and more comfortable, VIP places are all that. I really liked Rethymnon, we went several times, it's great to walk around the city, shops, restaurants, local life, it's great to look at people who were born and raised in such a wonderful place, they seem completely different, calmer, or something, not as tortured as ours in big cities. In general, a very cozy, homely, good hotel, leaves only a good impression. To everyone who is going to visit this hotel, I wish you a good rest)
By the way, we flew with the Anex tour, everything was fine too, the flight was without problems, there was a delay of minutes. 20, but these are trifles. We were quickly taken to the hotel in small Mercedes gazelles, there were no stops at other hotels. Well done guides are always there, always happy to help. So thanks to the operator too)

We traveled all over Greece, of course, we can’t say that all of it, but a lot of times and to different places, but we traveled, booking hotels through Booking. com. I can say that these are diametrically opposed things. Then they greet you as their guest, they are interested in your affairs, and in the end they wish you good morning and the same evening. In the case of Creta Residence, it is completely different. It started with the fact that the room we paid for was not free at the time of our arrival, but this is still nonsense compared to the general situation at the hotel. The staff, to put it mildly, is not very happy with their guests, besides, these same guests simply strain him... We have never heard words of welcome from the owner of the hotel or at least anything at all, even though we saw him twice a day - at lunches and dinners - he stood and watched who and how much he put on his plate and how much sprite the waiters poured into a glass - just horror. This is probably so that a piece does not climb into the throat. There are simply no other options. We have not seen this in any country, in any hotel.
In fairness, I will say that the cleaning of the hotel was carried out regularly, towels were changed daily. But all the pluses end there. The air conditioner did not cool, but worked like a fan, but at the request to repair it at the reception they answered that this could not be, it was only being repaired. In the bathroom, when using the shower, drains poured out of the drain hole in the floor - not pleasant enough. The balcony door didn't close.
On Saturday and Sunday there was no beer, sprite and forfeits - we were told that the installation was broken, but in fact, they simply did not deliver kegs. In general, a complete out, if you do not resort to profanity.

Rested with a child in early June. The room was clean, linen was new, appliances (refrigerator, TV, plumbing, air conditioning) worked well. Cleaned up every day. The food was very scarce. I only took breakfast. One tomato was thinly sliced for 4 people. If possible, it is better to refuse it.

There are a lot of taverns nearby, where they will be happy to make breakfast for you for a reasonable price, piping hot. And in the morning you need to swim, and not by 8 to run for breakfast. One minus - the host company "Phoenix". They work disgusting. When buying a tour, specify which company in Crete will serve you. If "Phoenix" - better refuse.
