A touch of Croatian charm
Tour "Croatia 6 nights - Montenegro 5 nights". Overall rating - 9+ (on a 10-point scale) : ). I’ll tell you right away about the shortcomings - from my point of view there were only two of them, and even then they are quite arbitrary.
1- an excursion to Dubrovnik is included in the price of the tour, so you don’t have to expect much from it. And in fact, only somewhere around 2-2.5 hours. Very little. And to see the city and... you simply do not have time to run along the city wall and relax. Tour only in the lower old town. But . . : ) due to the fact that the hotel is located near Dubrovnik and a tourist bus runs through the hotel to the old city (ask at the reception for a timetable), you can safely go on your own (2 euros one way), but it only returns from Dubrovnik - about 3 p. m.
2 - on the last day, pick up from the hotel in Herzog Novi very early at 12 noon. Drive to the airport for a maximum of an hour. And then sit at the airport for 3 hours. But it's not actually fatal either.
And now about the good.
Hotel «ORPHEE» 3 *, 30 minutes by bus to Dubrovnik. The place is quiet. 3 pebble beaches and rocks. Forest. You can hear the surf from the balcony of the room. The water is amazingly clear. It’s not very warm (I think it’s 20 degrees in the morning, it warms up to 22 by afternoon), it turns out that two mountain rivers flow into the sea in this area, but in such heat it’s happiness : ). More cicadas. Emphasize the silence that reigns when they fall silent as if on command. Yes, : ) tap water is drinkable. She is clean. Breakfast-dinner buffet. More than enough food. Not far from the hotel, about 20 minutes up slowly, there is a market. There is also a bus stop nearby. You can go both to Dubrovnik and to two small towns in the neighborhood. In the direction of Dubrovnik - Mlini, in the opposite direction - Cavtat. Cavtat, if you have time and desire, is also worth a visit.
I took only one excursion - to the Plitvice Lakes. All day. 170 euros. Departure at 6.30 am. Return at 1.30 am. Long, but if you have not been there, the trip is worth it. Any superlative degree - will not say anything....Amazing. . . amazing. . . You have to go there. Our guide Irina, when she joined in Split, called us a “heroic group”, the first group from Dubrovnik to Plitvice in 1.5 years. : ) There were few of us, only 6 people, and that's good... no one was in a hurry and we walked around the lakes for 4.5 hours and enjoyed nature.
I went to Dubrovnik on the aforementioned tourist bus. City wall. Entrance is 10 euros. In an hour with a small tail I ran around half : ), to the port. I saw pleasure boats and could not resist. Sightseeing walk 50 minutes around the old city and to the nearby island - 10 euros. (it may seem strange to someone, but this information often helps). While jogging along the city wall, I looked after a small bar on the rocks....Found... time to rest... and it's time to return to the departure of the tour. bus back to the hotel. Don't forget to take your bathing suits, if you are not afraid to swim from the rocks, you will have the opportunity to take a dip in the sea : ).
A sightseeing tour of Dubrovnik (included in the price of the tour) was on Saturday, the day of departure to Montenegro. I didn't want to leave Croatia. And not only to me.
Montenegro.
Special thanks for booking a room with a balcony in Duke Novi. As requested.
Hunguest Hotel Sun Resort, 4*. Info - building "Mimosa" has no balconies.
Fully corresponds to its stars. Given that this is still Europe. The territory is beautiful, green, well-groomed. Your own beach - a plate. If you leave the hotel and go a little to the left. After the tunnel there are several pebbly beaches. It takes about 5 minutes to walk. The water is clear in the morning, brings garbage to the shore by lunchtime, and is clean again in the evening. Not very nice. . . but it's a bay and a port nearby.
Embankment. With a lot of small shops and cafe-discos. Kilometers 5... m. b. more…m. b. less, but not by much. It starts in Igalo and through Duke Novi stretches somewhere... where? If you will, you can find out : ), I only reached the old city. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to it (if you don't go to the shops). Exit the hotel, turn left, along the embankment to the fortress. There is a pointer to the old town. Right. Up the wide stairs. Up.
Excursions.
"Skadar Lake". Probably just not the season for this trip. Yes, beautiful scenery. Yes, a huge lake. But…. No birds. No canal trips between islets. We were taken on a boat to the center of the lake, 2 times for half an hour were given for swimming. ? ? I don’t quite understand... did we go there to swim or something? Therefore, I do not recommend.
"Ostrog", the monastery of Vasily Ostrozhsky. The third most visited place for Orthodox pilgrims. No comment. Drive. Only with a group. When you get there, you will understand why… : ).
That's actually all.
Last tip - don't forget the raptor. There are mosquitoes and mosquitoes. : ).
