International Tuna Fishing Championship in Croatia
The annual international big tuna fishing championship "BIG - OM BIG GAME FISHING" has traditionally been held for the past 8 years in Croatia, on the largest island of Krk in the Adriatic Sea.
In the present 2013 the Championship was held from 29 to 31 August. The weather was beautiful, sunny and warm. Air temperature 28 degrees, sea 22 degrees.
The number of boats that took part in the competition this year was 20 units, there was even a small inflatable boat, the team of which eventually received the prize "For bravery !!! "
The crews were from different countries: Croatia, Ukraine, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Germany and Italy.
The total duration of the competition is 20 hours, during 3 days. Competition starts at 8:00 am and ends at 5:00 pm.
Main prize: KUP OMIŠ ALJ Cup and a cash prize equivalent to 4.000 euros + a trip to the world championship in Mexico.
The winner of the competition in 2013 was the Croatian team from the city of Baš ka, on the island of Krk.
Scoring is done by judges based on the results of the number and weight of each fish caught.
The championship in 2014 is scheduled for August 25-31.2014. Pre-registration and registration of participants is required.
