From the first minutes of acquaintance with Croatia, you understand that this is a country where holidays live. She captivates, bewitches. Ask what? You can find many answers: with its crystal-clear Adriatic Sea, its nature, its cuisine and people. Croatia for those who are looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday. Rest for the soul.

I met Croatia in August 2008. (This was my first trip abroad). Quite a lot of time has already passed, but the most vivid memories remained in my head for a long time. It is impossible to keep all the impressions in yourself, I really want to share. So…

The sea… the Adriatic Sea… It lives its own life. Marine inhabitants are not at all afraid of people, but, on the contrary, spend time with them with pleasure. Crabs, a variety of fish, starfish welcome tourists all year round. The only "enemies" for humans are sea urchins. But that's not scary either. The main thing for you is attentiveness and caution! In addition, special shoes are sold everywhere, with which no sea urchins are scary.

Nature... We rested at the Pinija hotel. From the Latin word "pinja" is translated as "pine". And, indeed, Croatia is famous for its huge number of pines. The beaches are planted along the seashore with shady pine trees, which distinguishes the beaches of Croatia from others. Pine trees provide shade, which helps to endure the heat more easily. In addition, the picture is complemented by various flowers, shrubs, palm trees and high mountains covered with forests. On the territory of Croatia, other vegetation is also found, such as oaks, maples, lindens, etc.

Cuisine… It is not surprising that the cuisine in this country is marine. During my vacation I had time to try different dishes. I immediately decided that if I came to a country that is famous for its seafood dishes, then I need to try just such ones (despite the fact that my companion took meat dishes, since he cannot live without meat : )). And you know, I was very pleased! The most important thing is that the dishes are sooooo big, that is, if you ordered a fish, they won’t bring it to you already cleaned and cut into small pieces, but you will get a really whole fish that you yourself will have to cope with! But it also gives pleasure! And lobsters! How big they are! I ate them for the first time and, most importantly, cleaned them. Honestly, it’s complicated, but very addictive : ) I never got to the mussels, although I really wanted to. In fact, they are in huge demand. For drinks, be sure to take the Croatian beer Karlovacko, similar to our rakija vodka (rakia), as well as various wines. In general, try, try and try again!

Croatians… I have never met more friendly and smiling people! In fact, Croatia is a very friendly country. For the whole rest, I did not hear a single swearing, did not see a single fight, not a single drunk person to the point of madness. In addition, the Croats are very literate and educated. For example, at the reception, in addition to Croatian, they can understand English, German and Italian (and in Russian already in many parts of Croatia). Agree, it deserves respect! Our languages, of course, are similar, since they belong to the same language group, but for me something can be understood only when you speak slowly, with a clearer pronunciation. Particularly surprising are some words that quite loniously call the object, but it sounds so funny : ) For example, our catamaran (it’s not clear what the root can mean) they call it simply and clearly - “pedalina” : ) And, of course, we did not miss the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge of the Croatian language: in a restaurant, shop, but everywhere they greeted in Croatian “Good Dan! ” and thanked also in Croatian “Praise! ”

Croatia also captivates with the fact that it allows you to plunge into history, to feel the spirit of antiquity. This country is famous for its ancient cities, which managed to preserve the look, the atmosphere that prevailed many, many years ago. One of these cities is Zadar. I want to admire again and again when you look at this city from a bird's eye view: a huge number of tiled roofs, among which bell towers and turrets of temples rise. You definitely need to wander around this city all day long. Why all day? Yes, because you need to do everything! During the day you can:

1) see all the sights of Zadar (Church of St. Donat, People's Square, Cathedral of St. Anastasia and more)

2) take pictures and take pictures

3) buy souvenirs for relatives and friends

4) enjoy cold cola with lemon and delicious ice cream in one of the cafes in the city in this heat

5) admire the narrow streets of the city, the cleanliness and order, the shiny and smooth cobbled road

In the evening, the city seems to come alive. A lot of people appear on the streets, local artists, magicians, jugglers and acrobats perform, sing songs, hold concerts and tours. But the most important thing to see and hear is the Sea Organ. The sea itself, with the help of this building, creates music: the waves of the sea pass through it - and music is obtained, the music of the sea. It is unusual and very romantic to sit near this organ, listening to the sounds of the sea and admiring the moon. . .

You can write and describe this wonderful country indefinitely, but it's best to fly there yourself, look at all the beauties with your own eyes and recharge your emotions and impressions! Have a nice holiday!
