Set in a majestic 19th-century historic building in the heart of Budapest, on the east side of the Danube, this luxurious modern hotel is surrounded by the restaurants, bars and theaters for which the city is famous. The hotel building was designed by the famous Austro-Hungarian architect Alajos Hausmann. An excellent choice for a comfortable stay in Budapest.More →

The building was rebuilt at the turn of the century, so everything is very technological and modern, corresponding to the number of stars. The location is very convenient, on the local analogue of the Garden Ring, so there is no transport problem at all, it is very convenient to get from the hotel to any point of the historical center, airport, train stations, etc. , near the metro station, tram line (trams run around the clock, at night the interval 10 minutes, but you can't hear them at all). When checking in, if not from a company, you must either leave a small deposit (two to three hundred euros) for the potential use of paid services or indicate a credit card number. A huge common hall with a glass roof is very comfortable and pleasant. The elevators are decorated very nicely - natural stone, mirrors, anodized metal (under gold). They eat at the New York restaurant in the basement. The design of the restaurant is at the level, one painting is worth something. The waiters work well, some know Russian, all speak English. But there are questions about feeding. We only had breakfast there, and went to other places for lunch and dinner. Firstly, breakfasts are devastatingly monotonous - a standard set of fried bacon, sausages, scrambled eggs, etc. There are fruits and vegetables, good pastries, etc. Secondly, the bacon was once burned to ash at five minutes, the omelette was made from eggs of clearly "one and a half" freshness a couple of times (not rotten, but the yolks have already turned gray), which is unacceptable for an institution of this category. The rooms are very pleasant, with upholstered walls in the bedroom in pastel colors, the beds are comfortable. The number of windows in a standard room, with a slight difference in area, is different - from one in the bedroom to 2 in the bedroom and one in the bathroom, and depends on the layout of the room. The bathroom has its own bath (large, if desired, you can climb together), shower, toilet, bidet and as many as two sinks with a huge mirror in front of them. All consumables (soap, shampoo, bath foam, bath salt, lotion, caps, a set of scratching posts), towels and bathrobes are in place and of very good quality. But in one sink the drain was practically broken and did not open (it drained in 5 minutes), in the bathroom it was necessary to "catch" the open state. And the power outlet (the only one in the room) had a rather poor contact, therefore, attention was needed when charging the laptop. Wi-Fi plows without problems, so I had a direct Moscow telephone in my room ; -) There is a TV in the room, by default it is included in the hotel's video library, films are paid for a few euros apiece, there are with Russian sound. Actually TV - several dozen channels from all over the world in excellent quality, including our 1st channel. When you enter the room for the first time, a line with a personal greeting in English runs on the screen. A trifle, but nice ; -) An IP wire sticks out next to the TV, but there is no access to the network from it (you need to order for money, why this is in the presence of free Wi-Fi is unclear). The view from the window is expected - the wall of the neighboring house, something else can only be in the suites on the upper floors. Accommodation cost almost a piece of euro for 4 nights.
So in general, the hotel is not bad, but due to typical soviet blunders, it gets only 7 points out of 10.
