The hotel is very well located - on a quiet street and at the same time a 2-minute walk from the busy Emek Refaim street. It is amazing that many cafes on it are open until 1 am! Walking along this street is like walking through an exhibition hall – one building is more interesting than the other. Unfortunately, judging by the ads, quite a lot of apartments, offices, cafes and shops are rented or sold. Apparently, there is a crisis in that area... In 20 minutes you can walk to the first railway station in the city, to several parks, to the Montefiore Mill landmark. And if you wish - 40 minutes to the Old Town.
The building that houses the Arcadia Ba’Moshava was built in the 19th century. It originally housed a studio. After the War of Independence, it passed into state ownership.
Despite the honorable age of the building, it has a modern elevator, and the level of renovation of this hotel could be envied by many hotels even at the end of the 90s of the XX century!
Arcadia Ba'Moshava is more like an expensive mansion than a standard hotel. In it you feel not just another tourist, but a long-awaited guest. Arcadia Ba'Moshava has a lot to offer. For example, the place of registration of hotel guests attracts attention. This is not even a counter - this is a desk at which guests sit down.
The hotel lobby is combined with a restaurant. There are tables at which tourists have breakfast in the morning, and the rest of the time they drink tea, read, sit with laptops and tablets... A single space allows the hotel employee on duty at the reception to come up and help prepare a cup of tea for the tourist or bring him delicious cookies . By the way, pastries, tea with different flavors, green apples can be treated at any time of the day.
For breakfast, you choose coffee / herbal teas and scrambled eggs from the menu, and the rest (delicious natural yoghurts, fruits, vegetables, cheeses, etc. ) is served on a common table. The choice of food is not great.
I believe that every day there is hot scrambled eggs, albeit in different versions (scrambled eggs, fried eggs, shakshuka) is not very interesting, but for tourists who come for 1-2 days this should not be a problem.
I had a room without a balcony (with a balcony is more expensive). It is very cozy and comfortable. True, the area is not large, therefore it is only suitable for 2 people . .
The electric kettle is ceramic, not plastic as usual in hotels. Tea saucers and cups with an interesting pattern.
Paintings hang on the walls in the corridors. On some floors, at the end of the corridor, there is a pleasant seating area with chairs and a table.
Parking at the Arcadia Ba'Moshava hotel is organized in such a way that you take any free space that is nearby. From 8 am to 19:00 parking is paid, the rest of the day is free.
The hotel is wonderful, one of a kind. Its unusual location in the German colony is both a plus and a minus. On the one hand, you can see a completely different, unusual, sedate Jerusalem. On the other hand, it takes much longer to get to the main attractions. Therefore, I would not recommend the hotel to tourists who go on group excursions and wish to visit the Holy places. The Arcadia Ba’Moshava hotel is suitable for independent tourists who are interested in different Jerusalem and are used to walking a lot or renting a car.
