Vienna city park

Wiener Stadtpark, Stadtpark, City Park of Vienna, Stadtpark
Austria, Vienna
Vienna City Park is the city's first public park. It was built in 1862-1863. designed by A. Tselinka in the English style. The Stadtpark spread over a fairly large area on both banks of the Vienna River with many bridges, flower beds, benches and paths. It is noteworthy that it was here that Johann Strauss held his first concert. The city park has a huge number of monuments, busts and statues, among which are monuments to F. Lehar, Johann Strauss, F. Schubert and R. Stolz, as well as busts of the burgomaster A. Tselinka and composer A. Bruckner. Currently, the Stadtpark is not only a place of rest for citizens, but also a venue for concerts and other cultural events.

Gazebos, alleys, flower beds, exotic plants, fountains and monuments - everyone will find something to their liking. As in many other cities, there are a lot of vacationers on the lawns. The City Park is the park with the largest number of monuments and sculptures in Vienna.
