Place de la Virgin Mary was designed in 1929 by Josep Puig i Cadafalch. This is where the main facade of the monastery comes out, which was designed by the Catalan architect Francesc Folguera y Grassi, who helped Antoni Gaudí in the construction of the Sagrada Familia. On the left side of the main facade of the monastery is a beautiful two-tier gallery - a small Gothic cloister. A series of sculptures in the niches of the arched gallery that encloses the square of the Virgin Mary on the right side is dedicated to the saints - the founders of various religious institutions that have been associated with Montserrat throughout history.
