Renaissance window

Fenêtre Post Tenebras Lux, Fenêtre Renaissance, Renaissance Window, Light After Darkness Window
France, Les Baux-de-Provence
The Renaissance window is located opposite the City Hall (the l'Hotel de Manville building). This is the surviving part of Brisson-Peyre House, which was built in the third quarter of the 16th century and served as a Protestant church. Above the window is engraved the Calvinist slogan: "After darkness, light."

On July 25, 1905, the Window was included in the list of historical monuments of France.

Passing along Rue de l'Eglise, pay attention to another attraction of Les Baux-de-Provence - a Renaissance stone window with the slogan of the Calvinist Reformation - Post Tenebras Lux (After darkness - light). Presumably, the window is part of the once magnificent construction of l'Hotel de Manville (1571), and the presence of the motto of the Protestant church indicates a fairly strong influence in this area in the 16th century.
