The military amphitheater is one of the main attractions in the ancient Roman city of Aquincum. The military amphitheater was built in the middle of the 2nd century AD. and has the shape of an ellipse. It was used for gladiator fights, fights with wild animals and naval battles. 20 gates led to the amphitheater. The military amphitheater could accommodate about 12,000 spectators. This is one of the largest amphitheatres built by the Romans outside of Italy.
