Signoria Square

The L-shaped Piazza della Signoria is located in front of Palazzo Vecchio in Florence. Formerly the center of the political life of the Republic of Florence, Piazza della Signoria is a beautiful open-air museum, where famous statues of the 15th-16th centuries are located. Currently, almost all the sculptures on the square are copies.

Signoria Square
It is the site of the former government of the Florentine Republic and the center of many monuments. It is impossible to say what is more interesting - the Lancia loggia with many sculptures and, in particular, the famous Perseus Cellini; Palazzo Vecchio with no less famous David and Hercules; Fountain of Neptune, the monument to Cosimo and the Medici… Everything should be seen slowly.→

Signoria Square. Florence.
Piazza della Signoria is still considered the political center of the city. On the square you will see: David (copy) - Michelangelo, a stone indicating the place where Savonarola was burned, the fountain of Neptune, a bronze equestrian statue of Cosimo 1. At the entrance to the Palazzo Vecchio or Signoria, you see sculptures of 2 lions by Donatello (copies). Walk around the square, feel the spirit of medieval Florence.→
