Walking route Imperial path

Imperial Path, Sissi Path
Italy, Merano
The "Imperial Path" is a favorite walking route of the Empress of Austria-Hungary Elisabeth (Sissi), wife of Franz Joseph I. It runs along the Passirio River, from where beautiful views open up. The Empress visited here very often, the healing water and fresh mountain air had a beneficial effect on her.

At one time, Empress Elisabeth (better known as Sissi) visited Merano twice, and stayed here for a long time. The crowned lady firmly believed in the unusually beneficial effect of local air and water. The favorite walking route of the Empress was called the "Imperial Trail", it runs along the banks of the mountain river Passirio. You can’t argue with the empress - both the air and the views are excellent here!
