spanish stairs

Spanish Steps, Scalinata della Trinità dei Monti
Italy, Rome
The Spanish steps are a grandiose Baroque staircase in Rome. It consists of 138 steps that lead from the Spanish Square to the church of Trinita dei Monti, located on the top of the Pincio hill.

At the foot of the Spanish Steps there is a square of the same name with a fountain in the form of a boat "Barcaccia" (Italian Barcaccia, 1627-29, architect Bernini father). The building to the right of the stairs is notable for the fact that the English poet John Keats died in it.

Previously, many years ago there was a fashion show "Woman under the Starry Sky". The fashion show took place on the Plaza de Españ a and on this staircase. I advise you to arrive there early in the morning so that there is at least the slightest opportunity to take a photo without a huge number of tourists. The Bernini Fountain opposite is much more impressive. Must visit. Without this object, the impressions of Rome will not be complete. For this author, Rome is not a favorite city, so his opinion will not be final!.
