Muliage Palace

Muleeaage Palace
Maldives, Male
Muliage Palace is considered one of the most beautiful architectural buildings in Male. It was built in 1913 by Sri Lankan architects commissioned by Sultan Shamsuddin III as a gift to his son. Soon the Sultan died, and his son never inherited the throne of the ruler of the country.

Muliage was made in the colonial style, white and blue. Around the palace there is a magnificent garden in which several types of roses grow.

In 1968, the republican government came to power in the country and the palace was proclaimed the official residence of the president. In 1994, the then ruler of the state, President Gayum left the Muliage Palace and moved to his new residence, the Temuge Palace. At the moment, a museum operates on the territory of the palace.

Having visited the Maldives, I was pleasantly surprised that here you can not only do nothing, lie on the beach, but also see the sights, of which there are enough. I visited a wonderful place - Muliage Palace. A very interesting historical building, a real colonial style, built according to the plan of a Sri Lankan architect. He is a little over 100 years old. Although the coloring, in my opinion, is similar to a children's playhouse, white with pink. At night it is very beautifully illuminated.
