Behind the wall of coral blocks at the corner of Muliage Palace and opposite the Hukuru Mosque, a chapel adorned with white flags is being built. The most revered shrine of the Republic of Maldives is the tomb of the Muslim traveler Abu al-Barakat Yusuk al-Barbari, thanks to whom in 1153 the population of the country was converted to Islam.
