Forodani gardens stretch along the Stone Town embankment. This is a small park where you can hide from the hot sun during the day and try local delicacies in the evening. Forodani was created in 1936 in honor of the anniversary of Sultan Khalifa. In 2009, the park was partially renovated. Now here every evening, after sunset, there is a festival of street food. In the open air, many chefs prepare and sell fish, grilled shrimp, lobster, octopus, chickpea fritters, hot sauces, soups and more.

Night market
We took a skewer of shrimp, mussels, fish, squid, a small cola and a glass of fresh juice. They paid 10.000 shillings. Bottom line: one divorce for vacationers. They even have their own menu with prices, it feels like 4-5 times more than for locals. Not to say that everything is delicious.→

For seafood lovers
Forodany Gardens is a wonderful place. During the day, this is a beautiful green park, with many shops and clearings, and at night, a real paradise for seafood lovers. Every evening the park turns into a place of one big party. After sunset, a magical action takes place here. To cheerful music, dozens of local chefs prepare traditional Zanzibar delicacies. Everyone will find here something for themselves. Shrimps, lobsters, grilled octopuses, sweet meat and not sweet bananas, meat, fish, fruit kebabs, juices, sweets, kebabs - all this and much more in abundance and at very pleasant prices.→
