Trinity Church

Basilian Monastery, Trinity Church, Vasilian Monastery
Ukraine, Kamianets-Podilskyi
The Trinity Church was first mentioned in a deed of 1582, in which the petty bourgeois Galka Tabkova donated her estate to the church. During the Turkish occupation, in the second half of the 17th century, the church was turned into a mosque. After the departure of the Turks, the Basilian (Basilian) monks founded here, in 1722, the Greek Catholic monastery of the Holy Trinity. After Podolia was annexed to the Russian Empire in 1793, all Uniate monasteries, including Trinity, were transferred to the Orthodox Church. In 1836, a two-story stone wing with a warm church of Anthony and Theodosius of the Caves was added to the main building, in 1855 the reconstruction of the Trinity Church was completed, giving it Orthodox forms.
The temple was completely dismantled in 1935, and the cells were used as a hostel for a state farm-technical school. In 1990, the Trinity Church was transferred to the Greek Catholic monks of the Order of St. Basil the Great, who in 1995 began the restoration of the temple, consecrated on July 10, 2010.
