The ancient settlement of Mirmekiy is located to the east of Cape Karantinny. The ancient city, founded by the Ionian Greeks, existed on this site from the 6th century BC to the 4th century AD. Archaeological excavations have been carried out here since the 19th century. Fragments of ancient houses, crypts, marble sarcophagi, various household items and decorations were found.
