The "Sail" memorial is located in the village of Geroevskoye (Eltigen) near Kerch. It was opened in 1985. It was in this village that the beginning of the liberation of Crimea from the fascist invaders was laid. The reinforced concrete composition, 20 meters high and weighing 2 tons, perpetuates the feat of the Soviet paratroopers, who held out for four days behind enemy lines.
