1st time in Egypt.... 1. At the airport, do not buy a visa from a tour operator for $27 - buy it at a bank for $25 2. We lived in a standard room (3rd floor, the elevator did not always work).

A very good hotel (if you are "lucky" with a room overlooking a noisy street - the review will be completely different), as for a city hotel - with a large territory and normal infrastructure (Marmaris hotels are different from Alanya).
