There are several versions regarding the construction of the fortress. It is most likely that in 1386 the castle was built by Prince Fyodor Ostrozhsky. According to another version, the fortress was built by Dmitry Olgerdovich, who is considered the founder of the Koretsky family.
A stone fortress appeared here in the 15th century. The first mention of the castle dates back to 1504, when its settlements and the castle church were completely destroyed by the Tatars.
Great Mezhirichi was in the possession of the magnates Lubomirsky, who founded the Roman Catholic Collegium here. The Church of St. Anthony was built under the Collegium from 1702 to 1725, this is a majestic religious building, erected in the Baroque architectural style.
The palace was built in 1910-11. according to the project of arch. P. Dutch. The estate at that time belonged to N. Tereshchenko, the daughter of a sugar factory, a real state councilor F.
The manor originally (17th century) belonged to Count Karl Sacken. After his death, it passed into the possession of Ivan Khristoforovich von der Osten Saken, and then to his son, Major General Karl Ivanovich von der Osten Saken.
Medzhybizh Castle is an ancient defensive structure at the junction of the Buzhok and Southern Bug rivers. Some kind of majestic calm emanates from him, a beautiful view of the surroundings.
