There is a tuk-tuk, a variant of the open bus. He walks on certain routes. There are many tuk-tuks and you can stop it in any part of the city. You sit down and, having reached the desired place, you press the button. The car stops, you come up and pay the fare - 10 baht per person. It is not recommended to talk with the driver, otherwise he immediately includes taxi prices, and instead of 10 you can pay 150 baht. After examining the hotel, we decided not to bother at dinner, so we bought grilled chicken with noodles (60bt), salad (40bt) and pineapple (40bt) on the first corner and, having refreshed ourselves, went along the embankment to the haunt of sex-industrial Pattaya - Walking Street. On the same evening, we spotted almost all the tourists from our group there, which is not surprising. To the right and left, the street looked more like a zoo. Signs in Russian "drugs are prohibited" led to vague thoughts. Barkers vying with each other sipped booklets with a full spread of local prostitutes and prostitutes. Loud live music from all sides created an association of natural presence in the film "From Dusk Till Dawn". All cafes and "fish" type restaurants had stairs to the second floor, guarded and veiled from the public eye. Before reaching half the street of debauchery, we turned back. Either this traveling circus is not for us, or we are not for it. The purpose of our trip is different, so the "pigeons" did not receive our further attention. I must say that by nightfall, numerous priestesses of love line up along the embankment, but they are unobtrusive and not at all annoying. What kills, rather, is the abundance of all sorts of fat, red-haired old farts of Aryan appearance who fly here like bees to honey, or like flies to... But, as they say, Moscow is not Russia, and Pattaya is not Thailand. We were convinced of this during the week of our stay and, by the way, in the same Pattaya there are a lot of things that deserve attention. After a sightseeing tour of Pattaya, we visited a show with a king cobra. It is better for the faint of heart to immediately sit higher! Then for a long time snakes seemed to me everywhere. Brr. But this is also a local flavor - after all, Thailand is replete with varieties of biting and creeping. The show lasted about half an hour, and then it was possible to feed the cubs with milk from a bottle, and of course, take pictures with them. (Pleasure for 100 bt) The same was offered at the crocodile farm. For money, crocodiles, tigers and other animals in the mini zoo are at your service. For an additional fee (like 50 bt) you can feed crocodiles from a fishing rod. This, I tell you, is a fisherman! The main thing is not to give the bait away immediately. Almost everyone fails the first time. Crocodiles jump quite high out of the water and clap their jaws so that they would not drop the fishing rod there! And in the neighboring pool, 100 kilogram catfish graze. We also fed them with mixed fodder. They flock to it in hundreds and the water boils from the pressure. The crocodile farm is combined into a complex with a park of 1000 summer stones, which were brought from different parts of Thailand and are masterpieces created by nature. It is very beautiful and impressive. We planned a trip to the Nong Nooch Orchid Park, but due to the density of excursions and the abundance of impressions, we decided to exchange this trip for a quiet vacation by the sea. Now I regret it. It all ended peacefully in another shop with clothes. The next day in the morning there was a visible revival on the embankment. The Thais knitted some intricate wreaths, vendors of Ray Ban glasses, Kelvin Klein underpants, Gucci perfume and other rubbish for 190 baht occupied their places along the street. As it turned out, we were lucky again! In early November, Loi Krathong festival takes place in Thailand. Whether the day of lovers, or the day of forgiveness, we did not understand, too many versions were issued. In the evening, after sunset, fiery lanterns made of rice paper are launched into the sky, and wreaths with aroma and simple candles are launched into the sea. By midnight, the whole sky was lit up with thousands of lanterns and millions of candles drifting into the sea. Naturally, we got involved in this holiday, and the planned dinner at the fish restaurant was replaced by a street kebab on the waterfront. The festivities continued until morning. We faded away at 4 in the morning, tired of music, fireworks and truly childish happiness of adult aunts and uncles. What was my surprise in the morning when, having gone down to the sea, I did not find a single leaf-flower after such a nightly revelry! Everything is tidied up, swept and the sea is clean, without any muck. By the way, the sea in Pattaya cannot be called perfect, but we swam in it every day. Three days in Pattaya, in principle, is enough, and if we go to Tai again, we will also stop for three days here. To certainly visit the orchid garden and go on an excursion to the border Kombodia. Everyone who visited the ancient temple there, recognized as a wonder of the world and now protected by UNESCO, breathed in the colorful difference of Asia, was left in wild delight, which undoubtedly encourages them to follow their example. The final and most romantic chord of our trip was our stay on the island of Koh Chang. We also got on a minibus for 6-8 people for about 3 hours, and then 40 minutes on the ferry. It is the closest of Thailand's islands in the Indian Ocean. Along a very steep serpentine (those who were in the Caucasus and visited the temple on the mountain roughly understand what I mean), we crossed the mountain from east to southwest. On the way to the hotel, they remembered the places of possible feeding. In principle, this was not necessary, since right opposite the path to our hotel there were shops and a couple of cafes where you could order fish, chicken, any FRESH seafood for a normal price. In our Klong Prao Resort hotel, I prudently paid extra in advance for a deluxe room in order to be as close to the ocean as possible. We are damn lucky this time! Perpendicular to the coastline, the hotel has a building with deluxe rooms. But only 2 rooms, one on the first floor, one on the second, all windows overlook the ocean. When we realized that this was for us, there was no limit to joy! I immediately uncorked all the curtains, doors, so that the ocean would rustle right in our room! The lyrics of delight will be slightly cooled by the impression of the act itself. It could be more spacious and cleaner. The air conditioner made an unrealistic noise, and the refrigerator, starting up, shuddered every time, as before an explosion. The third bed in the room was installed on a broken leg, but everything was immediately changed. In any other circumstances, I probably would have been very indignant. But here everything was compensated by nature and the view from the window. . In addition, the room had a shower and bath, kettle and hair dryer. But! It is advisable to bring your own shower accessories to the island. It is impossible to wash with the proposed ones (especially to rinse your hair). Of the minuses, there was one more, such a Buddhist cute one. The entire staff is lazy as hell. They smile, move slowly, and as they removed the leaves from the lawn, we were precipitated by the whole family! I describe: two workers, one, apparently, the main one, holding a garbage bag, looking thoughtfully into the sea. Another, looking at tourists like monkeys, with a sharpened stick occasionally pokes fallen leaves at a frequency of one per minute. But what kind of masseuses are there! I did a massage in Pattaya and it's a huge difference. Relax unreal right under the palm trees on the ocean. (One hour 300 baht). I recommend it to everyone as a daily ritual! Arriving at the hotel, the guide recommended a sightseeing tour of the island. Is free. I do not recommend! We were not. I suspected that most likely this was a publicity stunt and I was not mistaken. Our neighbors spat wildly at the wasted time. Those who are interested in the views of the island from its different extremities - rent a scooter. This is 300 baht per day plus a penny for fuel. It is inexpensive and convenient (drive to the fruit shop or for dinner in a cafe). Speaking of fruits. On the island, their choice is much less than in Pattaya, and they are more expensive, since they are imported. But they are still local! We ate pineapple and mango every day, a lot and often! How many got in! Pro stock! We only regretted that we would not be able to buy anything from the fruit exotic that we saw and tried in Pattaya with us on the road. Therefore, they took only mangoes and pineapples, and the "dragon's eye" - such a pink fruit with wings, similar to kiwi in taste, was already bought at the airport, many times more expensive. We were lucky throughout our vacation. And even in the last days not a drop of rain fell from the sky. The sunny sky only by sunset was covered with clouds and then, somewhere beyond the horizon. In order not to burn, people like me must relentlessly pour sunscreen on themselves. Otherwise, the skin will swell and peel off in one day. Although not to say that the heat is unbearable. We walked along the coast, looked at shells, climbed black volcanic rocks, rode a scooter. There are 3 waterfalls on the island. We tried to find one and found. . . a creek in the mountains in the middle of the jungle. Yes, nothing special. And of course we went swimming! Closer to the shore, jellyfish were grazing all the time. But if you carefully step over them (3-4 meters), then there is excellent turquoise water. No fish or corals, solid golden sand. There is a warning sign on the shore - there is a dangerous current in the ocean. There were deaths. Therefore, we swam in the depths up to the neck, not moving away from the shore. This fabulous picture - the turquoise sea, a light breeze and the sun setting over the horizon - is still in front of my eyes. As if everything else didn't exist. 12 am. Check out. The bus is waiting. Having finally plunged, we plunged into the bus and moved, without transfers, to the airport. The journey home was so long and tiring for the first time: 7 hours on the bus, then 6.30 to Tashkent, 3 hours waiting for the plane to Riga, and finally 5.30 to Riga. I did not take into account in advance that the plane and the earth are moving back in the same direction and the speed of movement is extinguished. However, I am sure in advance that if my friends were with me, the flight would be more fleeting. I will definitely return to Thailand, because the difficulties of the flight are such nonsense, compared to the buzz, adrenaline, a charge of positive and energy that you cannot buy for any money in simple working days. Sincerely, Marina.

I thought a year ago and made a wish for myself on New Year's Eve - to the sea in November! I hate this gray month of wet shoes, and since falling into lethargy will not work, you must definitely fly in November! The choice of direction is small - the Canary Islands or the Far East in the form of Thailand. I choose the second and happily announce my decision to the household: “Hurrah! We're flying to Thailand! " Not particularly surprised by my initiative, the husband and daughter calmly went about their business. Well, okay. In the spring, I began collecting information on Tai. I learned prices, vacation options, everything about the weather and something about the country as a whole. Since flying all the same to the ends of the world and, perhaps, the last time to a resort with an already adult child, I chose the Bangkok sightseeing tour - the Kwai-Pattaya - Koh Chang river. See, so everything and to the maximum! In August, I ordered tours (in the company of 365 brivdienas), absolutely sure that the rainy season, as always, will end by mid-October, and nothing threatens a pleasant trip. By the end of September, the media began to sprinkle pepper - and in Thailand FLOOD and Bangkok is about to wash away! Tormented by remorse, I spent two weeks before departure cheating on the net. The fears of the difficulties of the flight somehow faded into the background - before my eyes the ditches teeming with snakes, flooded quarters, bloodthirsty crocodiles and the danger of dying of thirst, standing waist-deep in water... But then, thank God, my household supported me: “I don’t care ! Let's fly! And finally, that day has come! On the third of November, the Uzbek airlines liner, packed to capacity with tourists, took us right on schedule in the direction of the Kingdom of Thailand. After 4 and a half hours, having had a hearty lunch, we landed in Tashkent. Two and a half hours passed unnoticed (although the airport is more like a drive and there were no special options). Grabbing a bottle of cognac (it should be noted that the prices for alcohol at the Riga airport are inexpressibly more expensive) we safely loaded onto another airship. Fatigue, jet lag and cramped seats were already making themselves felt. The next five and a half hours were more difficult and here it is - the long-awaited dawn over Thailand! At 7.30 local time we landed in Bangkok. And, oh my! This huge huge airport! Following the mass of experienced (presumably) tourists, we rowed for a long time to passport control. The queue of 13 windows was small - 60-80 people each. We mastered it in about forty minutes (we, they say, were lucky, by the new year this procedure can take 5-6 hours). Further, the whole crowd is looking for a meeting point with our guide according to the signs. Hooray! Found! We were counted over our heads and loaded into a painted but very clean bus with life-saving air conditioning. (Somehow the temperature drop from 0 to +35 did not immediately become native). And finally, we begin our journey! It took us about an hour to drive across Bangkok to our CHA-DA hotel, gazing eagerly at the scenery outside the window. The first thing that raised the question - where is the water? Where are the flooded quarters of the metropolis? And NO! Because Bangkok is a city of 16 million, and the flooded rice fields on the northern outskirts are not the whole of Thailand! Well, thank God, we thought. It would be necessary to reassure the relatives… Well, with a 5-hour time difference in Latvia, it is now somewhere around 4 am, let's wait. Outside the windows of the bus, quarters with high-rise buildings, streets unusually entangled with wires and kilometers of cables, intricate four-tiered car forks, hurrying brand new expensive cars, pineapple trucks, nimble tuk-tuks rushed by. Hotel CHA-DA, our first stop. A 3-star hotel, it corresponds to them quite well - a normal room with a TV set, safe, hairdryer, etc. Linen was changed daily, very clean, European breakfast and... a rooftop pool. We liked everything, especially since we lived there for a short time. Having changed the wardrobe, we first of all measured the depth of the pool, had a prudent snack on provisions taken with us and set off to explore the surroundings. I was immediately struck by the high-speed traffic on the roads (in Bangkok, on simple streets, 3-4 lanes in each direction), there are no traffic lights, and pedestrian crossings are exclusively in the form of viaducts. Class! Nobody bothers anyone. Zero risk of hitting a pedestrian! Then we found out that a driver's license in Thailand is obtained in three days and for 6 dollars. The question to the examinee is approximately the following: sign 80 km - at what speed can you move -80-100-120km? Well, and the like. In fact, road signs are extremely rare. To my question, how fast can you drive around the city, the guide answered - as the Buddha will tell you in the morning! That's how to fight corruption! Move on. The chic sparkling high-rise buildings below look not scary because of the tangled electrical cables that are everywhere. It seems to me that even an electrician will not immediately understand where and from where they lead. On the sidewalks, passers-by crowd in anticipation of city transport, right there the local “jazz band” is chirping something on their own, the aroma of fried fish, spices and... sewage is spreading. A blue-faced dog lazily rolls around, and everyone courteously walks around it. (Buddha had 108 reincarnations, one of them was a dog, so respect and respect for every dog here. What if in your next life you will take its place yourself? ). Finally found an exchanger. They recklessly exchanged 1000 dollars for 30180 baht. Reckless because the course in Bangkok is very different from the course in Pattaya. There for 1000 bucks we would get 31260 baht. An important point, banknotes of 100 dollars change at a more favorable rate than 10 or 20. Dollar or euro - it doesn’t matter, we counted, you don’t lose anything. Trampled heels, we decided to have dinner at a local catering. I ordered their national dish - Tom Yum soup, rice with shrimp for the family and noodles with chicken. As a result, everyone ate, and I filled the fire in the stomach with two liters of water. Tom yum in the original version - DO NOT ORDER! The principle of less burnt than frostbitten does not work here! The next day, we found out that most of those who decided to taste the miracle of Thai cooking finished their meal at McDonald's. I note right away that this was not the only gastronomic experiment on my part, but over the 14-day period, I have never had heartburn, bloating, or other troubles in the form of a headache (and vice versa). Evening my husband and I finished off in the room, in the company of a telly and cognac, and my daughter indulged in shopping until midnight. In the morning at 8.30 a bus came for us and we, accompanied by a Russian-speaking guide, went to the big royal palace. We were warned in advance that the legs and shoulders should be covered with clothes, however, my Carolina's white trousers and a shawl on her shoulders did not convince the law enforcement officers, and the daughter was dressed in a flamboyant skirt over trousers and a colorful shirt (for 20 baht). In principle, we had exactly half a group of such clowns. At first, everyone was arrogant, and then - in the midst of gold and emeralds, bathed in the bright afternoon sun, everyone smiled contentedly and took pictures in the middle of the exotic in no less exotic cast-offs. It is pointless to write about the large royal palace, it must be seen. The next scheduled stop is the golden Buddha statue. In general, Buddhism is not a religion, it is a worldview, or something. The guide told us a lot about it. I liked the calm and peacefulness, contemplation and understanding of life, promoted by Buddhism. But not everything is as transparent as it seemed to me. So, Buddha statue. Length 46 meters, height 18. All covered with gold, absolutely all... Hm, digressed. On the heels are mother-of-pearl images of 108 reincarnations of the Buddha. Among them - Dragon, snake, dog, horse, etc. . If the pots run out, but the coins remain, you will be prosperous all year, and if the coins run out earlier, it doesn’t matter! We must come back and try our luck again! With Carolina, everything happened much more prosaically. At pot 30, she ran out of wishes. We dined in a restaurant (lunch included in the price) and went to a jewelry factory. Thailand has the world's largest deposits of rubies, sapphires, emeralds and other precious stones. The luxury that opened up to our eyes is amazing! Again, this is a must see! Egypt is resting! Having fed our eyes, we were sent in a minivan (at the expense of the institution) to “any chosen direction”. We moved to the central shopping complex, but not for shopping, but for the aquarium. It is located... in principle, on the territory of the store. Pleasure cost us 900 baht from the nose. For 1100 baht, you could not only look at all sorts of sharks and other toothy monsters, but also feed them from the boat. We didn’t take a chance… Leaving the aquarium, we discovered with pleasure that the tallest building in the world, the Bay Yok Sky Hotel, is located next to us, and we decided, without waiting for the evening twilight, to walk along the Bangkok alleys on foot to it. Not surprisingly, the 84-storey building seemed very close to us. We scratched before him for an hour and a half, no less. They say that there is a glazed elevator along the entire height of the building, but we most likely entered from the "anus" and, therefore, first got from 1-56.57-75.76-81 floors. (We just don't look for easy ways). They paid for the cost of the observation deck and, in addition, dinner at the restaurant in the same place in the amount of 2080 baht for three. (Discounts for veterans of the Battle of Kulikovo are not provided, I asked). The view of Bangkok is, of course, grandiose! There is no beginning or end in sight! The observation deck is open during the day, but the restaurant opens at 6 pm. We were lucky. Before the opening of the restaurant, we looked and took a panorama in the daylight, had dinner, and since it gets dark at 18 in Thailand and quite sharply, we looked at all this splendor, only with night illumination. About dinner. Buffet, about 10 types of sushi, lobsters, lobsters, fish and meat in different servings, fruits and masterpiece desserts. Drinks for an extra charge. For 60 baht, full and satisfied, we took a taxi to the hotel. So the second day of our stay in Thailand came to an end. And in the morning we move to the province of Konchanaburi, which is about 250 km northwest of Bangkok, almost on the border with Burma. Putting aside only the essentials (a towel, a swimsuit, a change of underwear and a bottle of rum), we move into the heart of Thailand, into the jungle on the River Kwai. On the way we made several stops: on the outskirts of the province we visited a farmer's house. There, those who wished were given a tour of the production of coconut products. Yes, nothing fancy. Everything is very bad. But then we were in handicraft workshops for the production of teak furniture. It is of course YES! Whatever the bedside table is a masterpiece, whatever the table is a work of art. Made in 3D format, this furniture has a guarantee (! ) of 100 years. Teak wood is compared to iron because the density of the wood is so high that it sinks like metal in water. . In complete delight, opening our eyes, we looked at this man-made beauty for a long time. Before the brain had time to digest what we saw, we drove up to a truly exotic place - the floating market of Damneosaduak. In groups of 6-7 people, we were loaded into narrow long-nosed boats and with acceleration we wedged into dozens of the same boats, navigating through the web of water channels. The first impression was slightly shocking - green water in the canals and VERY dirty concrete fortifications exuded a persistent fetid smell of rotting grass and God knows what else. I thought that if the boat capsized without even swallowing a drop, I would immediately scab over and die from every conceivable skin disease. After a couple of minutes, vague thoughts were replaced by curiosity, and I turned on the video camera so that these marvelous pictures from another world would remain in my home video: here is a woman erasing something on her patch, and soap suds flow through the boards into the channel; but in a floating pie, a smiling Thai woman offers us colorful fruits. Kapunka-ah! We answered in a cat tone and moved on. . Here is a floating “inter-district base” with Thai souvenirs, and here is a showcase of Prada bags, Dior and a MONTANA watch for $ 3... Here are Thai people in traditional cocked hats cooking something right in the boats under a fragrant smoke, but on the shore, hanging flip flops the company eats rice with chopsticks, apparently with chicken. The waterway, 5-6 meters wide, is a shopping bazaar in an unusual form and understanding for us, but in fact it is. And behind the frail buildings located along the banks of the canals there is a wild jungle, where there are really a lot of wild monkeys. After wiping ourselves and those around us with prudently captured wet wipes, we changed the mode of transport. This is Kanchanaburi! Getting off the bus, I noted for myself that it is 10 degrees warmer here than in Bangkok. And I was not mistaken. The guide said about 40, which, in general, is usual for this area. The wide plaza, surrounded by low buildings, looked like Mexico from some movie. Again, an abundance of products made of precious stones. They have this goodness - yes heaps! But! The stomach called for a meal and to everyone's pleasure we headed to a restaurant on the water. Lunch was correct (in every sense). Further, according to the plan, there was rafting on the Kwai River, but the guide decided that it was still far from evening, so we were going to ride elephants! It took 40 minutes to get to the farm. The fact that we are on the way, it became clear from the broken paths and broken bushes. Dismounting, bypassing the "mines", we got to the stall, where we were waiting for the "departure" of 20-30 elephants, packed in a double "reserved seat". The ride cost 15 bucks or 700 baht per person. There are no indifferent! Climbing onto a high platform, we decorously, not without fear, took two places "according to the purchased tickets. " Each elephant had a guide who set the direction on the trail and, for a conditional 50 baht, got off the elephant with the words “photo! ” and took pictures on any of the latest photo, video or television devices. Elephant riding is interesting even for adults! First, the ascent along the path, then the descent, then the elephants go into the river and there it is not known whose ears he intends to dive. In general, fun! And elephants are so different, with a temper! And then we were offered a performance by a young elephant - girls. She passionately kissed everyone and did a soft massage with her wide feet on the buttocks of the lady, and... causal places on the men. The laughter was unreal! Tired of resting in Thai, we sat in boats and, under the rays of the sun leaving behind the green hills, moved along the Kwai River into the depths of the jungle. Rocky multi-colored shores with bewitching ledges and caves rushed past us. Thickets of bamboo, bananas and palms, entangled in vines, mysteriously hung from the cliffs. For about an hour we flew across the winding water surface to the floating hotel. Two dozen houses, interconnected by bridges, stood right on the river. The pontoon foundations connected them to the shore with cables. Opposite each house is a raft with sunbeds. Having received the keys and a kerosene lamp, they examined the room. Small, with two wide four-poster beds upstairs, the room has a combined shower and toilet, a washbasin and a mirror. The latter did not come in handy, as it quickly got dark, and in the light of a kerosene stove everything is already beautiful. We had dinner at a restaurant on the water. The choice of jars did not differ in variety, but it was enough to satisfy the hunger. Those who did not want to eat and drink could meditate. The sky is strewn with stars, the full moon is reflected in the murmuring folds of the river, the caps of the hills, covered with dense thickets, are enveloped in a light haze, the cries of wild birds are heard every now and then... Romance. And nearby - no electric light, no music, only smoking torches. It feels like everything is not happening. The candles I brought came in handy. We settled down on the raft in four. Then new and new characters began to join our cabal, and by three o'clock in the morning the evening ceased to be languorous and I initiated everyone to disperse into minks. We managed to listen to the silence and charm of that night only from our room, as we left the shutters and doors open for the night. The morning brought some freshness. Those wishing to see the village of the Burmese aborigines moved into the jungle immediately after breakfast. My husband and I did not exchange this precious pleasure for a chance acquaintance in the forest. Slowly we boarded the boats again and sailed back to the pier. . Elephants, monkeys and even a monitor lizard (originally taken for a crocodile) on the banks of the river still evoked genuine positive emotions in everyone. Today's route lay in the opposite direction to Bangkok and further southeast to Pattaya. Along the way, we again made a number of stops - bathed in radon springs, tasted local healing teas (where we stocked up with numerous gifts for loved ones), dined with national Thai cuisine and, finally, rafted in life jackets along the Kwai River. The principle is the following. We were loaded on a porch, and the boat dragged us up the river for about a kilometer and a half. Dressed in life jackets, we alternately jumped into the water, and the current of the river carried our lazy carcasses back to the landing site for a pore. The rafting took 20-30 minutes. The trick is that on this stretch of the river there are 3 natural waterfalls, and as you slowly swim past them, you get great pleasure. Not everyone dared to do body rafting for a number of reasons - the water, although flowing, is far from transparent, the current, and the fear of an unfamiliar reservoir and its inhabitants. We went into the river with the whole family, and none of us later regretted it. The road to Pattaya took about 4 hours from our last stop. At about 6 pm we entered the city and we were seated in minibuses of 8 people according to the principle of the neighboring location of hotels. And we are lucky again! The reserved Dragon Beach hotel (due to some kind of conference) could not provide us with an overnight stay and we were settled in the A-ONE hotel, which is in the center of Pattaya on the first coastline. We were wildly happy, because firstly, an excellent 4-star hotel, with a good room, with two pools filled with sea water, secondly, the sea and the beach are across the road, and thirdly, there are a lot of shops on the right and left. In the evening hours we indulged in shopping and long walks along the embankment, saving on taxis and time.

The sea is just a fairy tale, we did not see a single jellyfish, the beach is clean, large. The only negative for 4 days and this is more likely not a comment to the hotel, but to the weather, it was just cloudy and sometimes rain, which simply did not allow reflecting its beautiful color of the sea. In general we were satisfied.
Leave a deposit of 1000 baht. We lived in a 2-storey building overlooking the sea. Booked this hotel through Agoda.

In terms of accommodation: the best rooms are VIP Deluxe and Villa A. Standard rooms are also quite normal, but there is no hot water, and a water heater is installed, which sometimes does not work well. The most unfortunate rooms are from D 07 to D 12. There is one common walk-through terrace, which makes it impossible to calmly turn gray on the terrace in the evening, admire the beauties, etc. The G rooms are also not successful. They are located in a two-story building on the first floor, and on the second there is a banquet hall in which local Thais constantly arrange corporate parties. Noisy, however.
The food is wonderful. Breakfast is varied. Every day hot dishes changed, but sometimes repeated every other day. Fruits and fresh juices were always in stock. Delicious guava juice. We really liked it. Try the Thai omelette. The process of its preparation is already a fire show. The evening restaurant has an excellent and inexpensive menu. Delicious grill. It is made from pork, chicken, beef or fish (tuna or mackerel). The cost of any 120 Baht + free buffet of fresh vegetables. From the hotel there is an institution called "Traditional Thai House" entrance costs 250 baht per person. This place is open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There are low tables in the auditorium. There's a Thai omelet buffet and a cool Thai dance concert. And in the final part of the concert, you will also be taught to dance in Thai. This is cool!!!
The sea is wonderful. For the entire stay, not a single jellyfish. Everyone writes about midges in the water. There are no midges in the water. It's just that the water in the sea is very salty, and there are micro-wounds on the body, which at first pinch when entering the sea. But these are only the first days, then everything seems to heal and no one bites in the water. There were no insects in the form of midges on the land either, but there were mosquitoes. But not in large numbers, one or two will fly by and that's it. They were never bitten.
We regretted that we went without children. For children, this is heaven. Entry into the sea remains shallow for a very long time, and even after 30 meters - a spit of shallows (along the kaleno). Children do not come out of the water. Yes, and parents are not afraid - they definitely will not drown. The beach is solid white sand, not a single pebble.
With sunbeds, in our check-in, everything was in order, you could always find free ones, and there were not many people on the beach. The majority of the hotel is Russian. On weekends (Friday, Saturday) Chinese and Thais from the mainland come to rest. They are brought in on several minivans on Friday morning and taken away at lunchtime on Saturday, in the same order.
On excursions. We really enjoyed the elephant ride and swimming. For 2 hours, but impressions for a year. Just not transferable impressions of walking around the 5 islands. Skurling, reefs, hand-eating fish, a white-white island. It's all just a miracle. Excursions can be taken at the hotel counter in front of the reception. Prices differ from street prices by no more than 100 baht, for that you will definitely go with Russians, and not with the Chinese, who take them at street tour desks.
I recommend this hotel to everyone. We will definitely go back to the same hotel, but with the whole family, with children and grandmother. Everyone should visit paradise during their lifetime.

We (my husband and I) were in Thailand for the first time. Koh Chang was our second stop (1.03. 2011-9.11. 2011). At first, 3 hours of shock and adaptation to the place (where they take so long, where to eat). Then everything passes after going out to sea. It's just a fairy tale. Koh Chang was our second stop (1.03. 2011-9.11. 2011). At first, 3 hours of shock and adaptation to the place (where they take so long, where to eat). Then everything passes after going out to sea. It's just a fairy tale. There were no jellyfish (10 pieces in the field of view at the entrance to the sea to the knees, and then there are none. If we compare with the photos left by the tourists, then we didn’t have them).
Breakfasts. Yes, monotonous, but enough to eat. Fruits: watermelon, bananas, pineapple, papaya - a must and every day.
Sea. Already wrote a fairy tale. Very warm, almost transparent. In the morning there is no low tide with one wave. And after lunch, the tide begins to ebb and a fairy tale begins here. Waves in several passes, warm water and a beautiful view. The beach is clean.
The sun heats up well. Even if you hid behind the clouds, it doesn’t matter - a tan is guaranteed. It's even better than burning out in the sun in 15 minutes. Be sure to take creams (for the first time).
Territory. Very beautiful. There are 2 ponds. Enormous size fish. Jungle view. Everything is green and exotic. The flowerpots that we grow on our windowsills can be found there as a common plant.
Lunch, dinner. You can go to restaurants, or you can buy on hand. To be honest, the food is a bit more expensive than in Pattaya. Fruits are varied. Try pancakes with banana, pineapple - just a delight. There is a supermarket 10-15 min. walk.
Mosquitoes or midges. This is a separate part of the story. They seem to be not there, but they bit well, moreover, it is not noticeable to the eye. We arrived in Kyiv and it was still a week. So if they bite, do not comb it very much.
We were on a tour of 5 islands. I recommend. I liked it very much. They fed wonderfully. And the photos, just download. Yes, we visited Bounty Island.
In general, everything is excellent.
Ultimately, everyone has their own requirements and requests. But in Egypt, they would put 5 stars on the territory, but the rooms are not very good, and only breakfasts will pull 4. This is Asia for you.

It was the first time in Thailand, so I will try to answer the questions that worried me when traveling to this country.

General for those who travel to Thailand.
1. Country of smiles (I read before the trip that all Thais are happy and smiling at you) - a delusion, but they smile when they need to sell something or provide a service. In general, like us Slavs no more.
2. A cheap country is a delusion, prices in pharmacies for medicines are much more expensive than twice as much, for household goods such as light bulbs, extension cords, etc. - like we have in Kyiv.
3. Sockets for electricity - I came across European ones for 220V everywhere, in general, our chargers, etc. will do.
4. Meals - there is no unequivocal answer for the price - in other matters, like with us, but the minimum you need to count on is $ 6 - at the hotel per person what is included; cheeseburger ala McDonald's + french fries (large portion) + fresh vegetable salad (tomatoes, lettuce, cabbage, cucumbers, etc. )
e) - you put the salad yourself, as a free supplement, as much as you want, you salt it yourself, pour oil yourself, etc. Drinks for a fee from $ 1 - for a mineral water of 0.5 liters. Small chicken skewers, same $6, etc.
5. The food is spicy, it’s impossible to eat, you have to say all the time (Know spicy) - delusion tried a lot of local things, didn’t say anything, all dishes are sweet and sour, you can eat!
6. Their bread is very expensive, a slice of white bread costs $0.5-1 on average. There is no black bread.
7. Russian language - almost everyone understands it, especially in hotels where there are many Russians. They don’t speak Russian on the street, they got lost in Bangkok, spent 1 hour to find someone who speaks English. I recommend taking a map of Bangkok with you - there is one at the counter in every hotel. If you get lost, at least show the map to the taxi driver and where your hotel is.
eight.
A cash deposit for a hotel - no one warns about this, on average $ 50 no less, they can take $ 100 (only take in local currency) per person - depends on the hotel, for the duration of the stay in the hotel - money is returned upon checkout.
9. When passing customs control for departure from the country, baht can be exchanged for EUR or $ already in the landing zone - this is not a problem.
10. What is a tuk-tuk - it's a taxi, unlike our taxi - it's a pickup truck and you ride in the back, an average of 5-10 minutes drive $ 2, taxi drivers don't like to bargain, especially in resort areas.

About Klong Prao Beach Hotel (Koh Chang).
1. We look at the map of the hotel, rooms (cottages) from B1 to B10, all rooms on V *** are good rooms. Rooms D1-D12 are something like barracks with a long common balcony, rooms G1-G12 are the same as D1-D12, only they are located in the hotel's utility area. Rooms C1-C17 are the same barracks.
2. Rooms С18-С25, with private balconies. Rooms D1-D12, G1-G12, C1-C17, C18-C25 have shower only.
3.
The beach is good, if there is an influx of guests, sunbeds must be borrowed at 6 in the morning. You wear mattresses yourself, as in Egypt and Turkey, no one will bring you mattresses, but they are very heavy and worn. I witnessed how the Slavs took their places on the sunbeds at 6 in the morning and did not appear until 11, then the second Slavs threw off their towels and themselves lay down in their places.
4. The sea is good warm + 30 no less, shallow especially at low tide, swimmers will not like it - you have to walk 200 meters, and it will only be up to your neck. Children are fine. There is no life under water. Only there are many jellyfish you can’t go into the sea, as they burn the body and sea midges bite under water.
5. Kitchen - there were only breakfasts, they gave mangoes, etc. local fruits, and everything is as usual sausages, cheese, vegetables.
6. There are a lot of midges on the island - they bite hard at night, do not take our creams and fumigators, they do not help, I bought a local spray in the store, it only helped.
7.
All rooms, even suites, have ants - this is normal for Thailand. Sometimes a large palm cockroach can get into the room, don't be afraid of it, it doesn't bite - it's unpleasant, but it's an island.
8. A lot of locals come for the weekend.

I recommend the hotel as a good economy option.

Previously, they always traveled from Pan Ukraine, but this year the Pans did not have the hotels they needed and were more expensive than Ilves. Tour for two for 14 nights - 12 Klong Prao Resort, 2 Bayok sky 2874 dollars. Everything is included – aero suite tickets, transfer by minibus + ferry, breakfast, accommodation, insurance. tickets $ 870 hotel 3 stars, but we can say that 4.
We went to Koh Chang alone, so we lay down on the "reserved seat" and slept without any problems. Then half an hour on the ferry - and here we are on the island. The island is mountains and hillocks and very steep roads with strong ups and downs. Even his ears pawn. In some places we climbed at 1 speed, drove up to the Klong Prao Resort hotel -2 minutes of registration and we were put on a 4-wheeled motorcycle and taken to the “numbers”. We ordered (after reading the reviews) building C, but it was possible to order a bungalow Also good, but more expensive. The room is large, 2 double beds, TV, air conditioning blowing directly onto the bed (the compatriots tried to break out the bars and guides and filters), minibar, wardrobe, dryer, table for a suitcase and dressing table, tea and coffee set only in deluxe. The bathroom is very unimportant. Shower, toilet bowl, sink, there is water from the shower on the floor and does not drain, because of the humidity in the bathroom, small midges and flies are very biting, the bathroom is for two. A room for a four. 2 windows - one on the lagoon - beauty, the second on the garage - we both closed it with a curtain and did not open it. Mosquitoes, although they are poisoned, but they gnaw a lot like animals, the territory is green and very beautiful. Huge fish are found in the sea water lagoon. Breakfasts for a solid 4 and sometimes 4+ are monotonous, but varied and well cooked - normal food. The beach is sand, the entrance to the sea is good, without holes and cliffs. We were not lucky - for the first 7-8 days there were a lot of jellyfish near the coast, a strip 2 meters wide, you pass and there is beauty - there are no jellyfish, the water is heated, but a little cloudy, but odorless. came. The water is about 32-34 degrees near the shore - hot. The island is very quiet, beautiful, mountains covered with forests and jungles. Not many local cafes and eateries, prices are higher than Pattaya. seafood and European cuisine. Russian dumplings - no. There are 70% Russians in the hotel. There are few Ukrainians, the rest are Czechs or Slovaks, Scandinavians, Germans are few - only married Thais with children and pensioners. It was a shame for "our" compatriots. Some behave disgustingly, because. there is nothing entertaining - there is complete relaxation on the island - shops and shops close at 10 pm, cafes work for a short time. - In the evening they collect drinks and nuts, pistachios, etc. and to the beach. They get drunk, get drunk, shit with nuts peel, scatter bottles, burp everything in the area, piss off - (next to the toilets) in the morning you come to the beach and it’s disgusting to approach the sunbeds. By the way, there are not many sunbeds, you need to come to the beach early - at 6.30 - 7.00 There is a massage on the beach, but not very hygienic - they wrap their legs after the massage with towels, they cover the chest, and other parts of the body, reusable sheets - dried from one client and under another. Everyone does a pedicure with the same pumice stone, well, in general....
Nice pool but not enough sunbeds. At the hotel at the reception - paid Internet 120 baht -1 hour, outside -1 baht - 1 minute. On foot to the left of the hotel for about 10-15 minutes of a slow walk - a shopping center - a supermarket, fruit markets, but a woman brings fruits to the hotel a little cheaper even. Since you have to go left and right or go to the "civilization" - our hotel is one, the rest are a little further - the prices in the surrounding cafes are cheaper than in the center. But tiger shrimp are cheaper in the center. We dined at the hotel restaurant - not very expensive and well cooked, we mostly ate seafood or Thai food. At first there were few people, then they drove up, but mostly people go for 2-3 days from Pattaya. A lot of Thais and Chinese come for the weekend. In a room for 2 live 6-8 people.
On the island, biting midges not only bit us, seasonally (they say) jellyfish and sea fleas gnaw in the sea. A breeze blows during the day, by evening everything calms down and it becomes stuffy and very humid. The hottest months on the island are March-April. Then the rains begin. Hotel Klong Prao resort is very beautiful and with some shortcomings is good. If the question arises to go or not - YES, GO. must see, but in December - February. You can go with Ilves Tour, we calculated the cost of the tour if we went ourselves - it turned out almost the same as with the company, only we didn’t have any problems at all, especially stressful - the way back from the island to the BKK or Trat is expensive. And it's annoying to carry things around.

We chose hotels for a long time and stopped at Klong Prao Resort. In principle, the inexpensive price is fully consistent with the hotel. At first we took a regular room, but after viewing the rooms we decided to pay extra and move to a deluxe room. ordinary rooms were somewhat reminiscent of a Soviet boarding house, as for the deluxe rooms, they were pleasantly surprised by their interior and condition, unlike ordinary ones. The beach at the hotel is very good, clean, fine sand. You can walk along the coast to other hotels. since we only included breakfasts, I can say that they did not strike with variety every day, but the choice was quite decent.
The only negative of this hotel is the location from the city center, because. to get to the shops had to pay 150 baht per person one way.
