Terrible management.
We encountered a very unpleasant situation when checking out of the hotel.
The night before, we checked the check-out time at the reception desk (specifically, the time to check out of our room), but the staff member said they didn't have that information.
On the day of check-out, we returned from the beach after lunch and discovered our room key card wasn't working. The receptionist told us access was blocked because, according to them, we were supposed to check out at 12:00 PM.
However, we were given no information about the check-out time in advance.
When we asked how to collect our things from our room, the staff said we would have to pay an additional fee ($50). They then said they could give us 10 minutes to pack our things, since the room was supposed to be occupied by now. But if we paid, we could stay in the room until the evening.
One of the employees (Russian-speaking, without a badge) asked personal questions about why I needed to take my personal phone from the room, what and to whom I wanted to write, and demanded to see the text of the message.
We were later informed that there had been a "mistake" and we could stay in the room without paying, but we could choose to pay them at least $20 (which we wanted to do upon checkout).
Five to 10 minutes before the transfer, the staff approached us again and informed us that payment was required.
After we went to get our things, a man who introduced himself as the hotel owner approached us and began demanding money ($50) in an extremely aggressive manner, raising his voice, insulting us, and refusing to answer any questions until payment was received.
He claimed we had violated the check-out rules, even though hotel staff had previously given us different information.
He ignored our attempts to clarify the situation, constantly interrupting us and continuing to demand payment.
The staff member we had spoken with earlier in the day, who had confirmed our stay in the room until the evening without payment, stood next to the owner and remained silent, and the owner forbade us from asking him any questions.
Threats and inappropriate statements were also made, including promises to “contact the airport” and create problems for us with our departure.
In the end, they demanded 2.500 lira from us. We didn't have the full amount, so we gave 1.800 lira, after which they returned 400 lira and took the rest.
This was the worst hotel experience ever. The situation left an extremely negative impression due to the poor organization, conflicting information from the staff, and the unacceptable behavior of the management. Other guests should think twice before choosing this hotel. I highly recommend not staying here.
