We rested at Club Aqua Ortakent from May 25 to June 1.2010. I always dreamed of visiting Bodrum, because it is a very beautiful ancient city, next to which there are many historical sights. And then there was a very cheap tour. . . Of course, we were worried, because before that we had been in a 3 * hotel in Kemer, where we did not like it terribly, after which we went only to five-star hotels. But we decided to take a chance and were pleasantly surprised! : ) I can say right away that Bodrum itself is a more European and civilized resort compared to, for example, Kemer. As for the hotel: it is small, family type, the staff speaks English. At the time of our arrival, a week had passed since its opening in the new season and there were very few vacationers: 20-25 people, of which Russian-speaking - only my husband and I + a couple of our friends, whom we met there : -) Immediately after On arrival, the manager Omar personally approached us and treated us very carefully and respectfully. Settled immediately, the room is small but decent, everything worked, cleaned well, linen changed every day. Regarding food: a small variety, but everything is fresh and tasty, we were not hungry, except for breakfast-lunch-dinner there were also snacks at 16-00 (french fries and hamburgers) and cookies at 17-00. If we wanted something unusual, we could go to the embankment, where local restaurants set tables every evening on the seashore and the prices are quite adequate, you can eat octopus, different types of fish, shrimp, squid, etc. In the hotel a small but quite normal pool, for some reason it was green at the time of our arrival. But the next day it was apparently cleaned and then everything was ok, every evening I watched how it was cleaned, that is, everything is in order with this. I was also struck by the fact that in the hotel all drinks are in glass: beer is good tuborg gold in branded large glasses. Moreover, at the time of our vacation there was no bartender, we ourselves poured it from kegs. The beach is located 100 meters from the hotel, unfortunately, there is no beach of its own, but at the time of our vacation, almost all the beaches were empty, so we occupied sunbeds on the territory of a neighboring hotel. During the season, this is probably a big problem. . As for the Aegean Sea, it is very beautiful, blue and clean, although it was a little problematic to enter our beach and the water temperature at the end of May, of course, is still insufficient (up to 20 degrees), to enter it was necessary to show willpower : -) But nevertheless, we swam every day, almost alone in the sea. The embankment of Ortakent is very beautiful and picturesque, there are many restaurants, shops, it is very pleasant to walk there in the evenings. As for excursions, there are few local travel agencies (we found one), but we did not dare to go through it, because we were afraid that the guide would not be Russian-speaking (because English is spoken everywhere in Ortakent). Therefore, we went on an excursion to Ephesus through our tour operator (Turtess) and, by the way, were dissatisfied with the quality of the organization of the excursion (especially the guide), although it cost almost 2 times more than through local ones. From Ephesus itself, they were delighted! We also went to Bodrum itself. A minibus goes there from Ortaketa, it costs about 1.5 dollars. from a person.
