The room itself is very spacious, large terrace with a daybed and an armchair. For several days I slept on the terrace to the sound of the waves!
They settled us immediately and without any "surcharges", a room with a sea view.
From our bungalow to the sea was 1 minute ...to the pontoon - 5 minutes. The photo shows our paths to the sea.
Very nice 3 level swimming pool... like steps into the sea.
They fed deliciously. The only thing - I do not advise you to go to the "Italian restaurant a la carte". This is such a ridiculous establishment that it is difficult to call it a restaurant, especially Italian (so as not to discredit Italian cuisine). This is the only negative in the hotel, but since this visit is only possible once per stay, I would advise you to avoid it.
And the main restaurant delighted every day - new dishes all the time, and pastries ...
The hotel has a large beach: 2 sandy lagoons and a pontoon with a VERY beautiful reef. I must say that the reef is the MOST beautiful and rich in many species of fish - from what I saw in Egypt, and I have been there 9 times already ...so it was not in vain that I went to Mars Alam. Yes, there are a lot of sunbeds, no queues “from 6 in the morning”, towels and things were left completely free, nothing was lost either on the beach or in the room.
The weather was just wonderful, the sea was almost hot, certainly more than 30 degrees. The air is very warm, but no longer hot like in summer, there was a little fresh breeze, especially in the evenings. The waves were strong for several days, but it was possible to swim near the pontoon.
And I also went on an excursion on a yacht - I swam with dolphins in the open sea.
Everything was wonderful, only there were ten times more people than dolphins ...but I must say that it felt like we didn’t bother them much - they easily swam away from us! After the dolphins, we were taken to swim on the local reef, and although the corals there were VERY beautiful, there will still be more fish on our hotel reef ...
I did not go to Luxor, although at first I was going to. Because by chance I heard from tourists that the road (200 km west of Mars Alam) takes ...6 hours one way ...when I was very surprised and asked the hotel guide, he admitted that there are few Russian tourists and therefore ...they first take us to Hurghada (260 km to the north), they get a bus there, and then everyone is taken together to Luxor ...in general, I didn’t like it.
And we also went 2 times to Abu Dabab Bay, it's only 10 minutes from the hotel to go by hotel bus, but for a fee -2 euros per person. there is a lagoon-sand, and 2 reefs.

I arrived from this hotel on December 11. I had to pay 20 & for a normal room, they asked for 50. The impression was bad, I knew that there was no entertainment but I didn’t think that at all. The hotel is imprisoned for Italians, but not Russians, Russians are left to their own devices and there are very few of them in percentage terms.

They showed me that I watered and fed my friends from a nearby hotel (what kind of friends? especially in Egypt, the elderly were 65 years old and I just brought them a sprite, I came only with a friend).
The bartender went to the reception (photocopies of vacationers are stored there), looked through photocopies of Russians, there are about a dozen of them, unlike Italians, about 200. Typical breakfast: Omelet, pancakes, cooked in front of you. Yogruty, fruits, breakfast cereals, vegetables, cold cuts, bread, lots of sweet pastries. Tea, coffee, hibiscus, water and orange yupi. There is even oatmeal for those who wish.
Dinner. Grill every day (chicken, partridges, meat (hard), crabs, something like kebabs, hamburgers), something quite edible, something not very. Pasta is cooked in front of you, usually there are two sauces to choose from. And a standard set, stewed vegetables, potatoes, meat, fish or chicken. The choice, to be honest, is modest, especially for the salad bar. He was practically inedible. They just picked sliced vegetables and seasoned them themselves. Very often there was a dish with lasagna, gnocchi and the like, but it was not very tasty with them.

But the choice of fruit pleased. There were apples, pears, bananas, guava, watermelon, melon, dates, grapes, plums, pomegranate, citrus fruits. Sweet table is good.

In the morning, there were buns with tea in the bars (they didn’t take them), from 10 to 11 in a bar near 200 rooms there was ice cream for children, in the same place from 11 they prepared hot dogs or burgers with potatoes. In general, it’s rather sad in bars with drinks (I’m not talking about alcohol, we hardly drink, so we weren’t interested), b / a drinks are only soda and UPI, there were no familiar cocktails, as in other hotels. The daughter was very upset by this. We bought packaged juices in a shop across the street, at least they made her happy.
Animation. There was, but we didn't go. On the active beach, something happened, in the pool there too. There was an evening program and a disco for children. We never got to it. It all started late for us, after 9, and since the children got up with the sun at 4-5 in the morning, at that time they were already asleep.

Pontoon. A strange way to get to it through a paid fish restaurant, we didn’t even immediately find how to get to it. The reef is beautiful, it was a delight for me, it was the first time I swam on such a deep reef. There are fish and lots of them. Flag. Almost always red. We went at 5-6 in the morning (with our children there was no problem getting up), there was no whistler, we climbed through the rope and hit the road. In the morning we saw dolphins (on the first day without a camera, unfortunately), a baracuda sailed. Lionfish came out in the evening (it was a surprise for me that I met this beauty all the time, there were a lot of them in Taba). Almost every day we went to Abu Dabbab, despite the red flag, it was possible to swim there. In Abu Dabbab, a small bus runs daily according to the schedule, an appointment for the day at the reception. From the bay, of course, there are a lot of emotions. Stingrays, guitarists, turtles, cuttlefish, squids, all other families are large, bright.
Hotel lagoons. I didn’t find anything near the beach asset, but I’ll say right away that there was little water, and it was impossible to swim to many places. So in theory it could be good. You can swim in the relax beach lagoon. The stingrays and the Malagasy blacktip shark come in with the tide. A lot of needle fish, sea urchins, cucumbers. There lives a flock of lured aboudefduffs who bite if you hang in place for a long time.
Diving. We did not use the services of locals, there is a Polish dive center near the Blue Reef hotel. Their prices are more democratic, but the equipment is a bit old. The husband was not happy. Local ones are significantly more expensive, I didn’t dive with them.
Separately, about the dugong. Our friends took a tour of the bays from Pegasus. In one of the bays they went out on a dugong (if I'm not lying, Mubarak), my husband fell on him while diving. Basically, I just didn't see it. Well, then, there will be something to go for next time.

These settlements are called Kahramana Garden View and are in fact a reservation exclusively for Russians. Room numbers start with the number 3. For reference, "normal" standard numbers start with the numbers "1" or "2". It is they who have the category of 5 stars, as well as an area of .55 square meters and everything else, including the sea view. In general, ALL the Russians who arrived ended up in this very Kahramana Garden View. Needless to say, the next day, no one was going to move us, saying that our rooms were never free. The scandal took the whole (! ) day, while we saw people leaving the vacated rooms, and immediately arriving and settling in them....Italians. Apparently, the Italians are not that much more scandalous, they rather receive a huge penalty from their agency in such cases, and the hotel prefers not to pay and settle them where they bought the trip. We were (and probably remain) completely powerless and we can only make trouble. As happens in such cases, the hotel management kept getting confused in the testimony, claiming that there were no rooms, that there were, but there was no electricity, that the rooms would definitely be tomorrow, or something else. The Pegasus guide first answered the phone and talked to us, then did not answer the phone for several hours, and after 5 hours he finally arrived, but did not help in any way and left. In general, friends, I sum up: after spending one more night in our sheds, and having a few quarrels in the morning, we moved to the neighboring hotel Kalimeru, where it is much better. Some of the Russians lost heart, broke down, didn’t make a fuss, and spent their vacation in these stables, believing that there are such 5 stars, or that it’s not worth spending a day and a half sitting at the reception like us and demanding to fulfill the conditions contract. Someone went to another hotel 30 km away in the direction of Marsa Galeb and we do not know their fate.

There is a shallow lagoon near the coast (waist-deep at high tide), where you can take a dip, well, swim 10 meters, but just be sure to take slippers, as for a reef, because. at the bottom there are fragments of corals, stones and hedgehogs. During a storm, it is quiet there, and fish climb into this lagoon and you can watch them. Friends even saw a moray eel and a small reef shark there, I myself saw a stingray, needle fish, angel fish, etc.
The reef from the pier is beautiful, rich, although it is not always possible to get to it, because. open sea - often a storm. Of the 8 days of arrival, the calm was 2 days, and another 2 we made our way to the pier in the mornings, while there were no rescuers, under prohibition flags, ropes, etc. and swim in the waves.
So it is better to count on snorkeling in Abu Dabab Bay, which is located 10 minutes from the hotel on a free bus.
To get on the bus you need to sign up at the reception, better before breakfast and better at 8 am. The bus will return in 4 hours - this is quite enough to swim and lie on the beach.

The most beautiful thing is the underwater "flight" of these animals, when they rise to the surface to get fresh air. Unfortunately, there are half-witted ones who at this moment begin to pester the turtle, grab it and prevent it from rising to the surface. And basically, these are our compatriots. It will be very sad if, after the dugong (which is no longer in the bay), the turtles will also disappear.
There are coral reefs on the right and on the left. On the right - more populated, but on the left - the corals themselves are more beautiful - of different shapes and different colors - golden, green, blue, purple in different shades. There are also many different fish. Tourists are taken to the bay, and groups are also brought for diving. The advantages of the bay are also that there is sand and you can swim just like that, in addition, even in a storm you can find quiet near the corals.
Accommodation: Three types of rooms - sea view, standard and garden view. It should be understood that those rooms that are designated as "garden view" are at a decent distance from the sea - 7 minutes walk in the open sun at 40 degree heat (near the Kahramana Garden Hotel (former Amaraya)) The numbers of these rooms are from 300 to 320.
Rooms with sea view are located between the reception and the main restaurant, to the pier - numbered 100 rooms.
There are also rooms that are located to the right of the central restaurant, in the second bay (palm bay). as we understand it, this is the standard. The numbering starts from the number 200. They have a minus - far from the reception and the main restaurant, but they also have their pluses - close to the main sandy beach and the pool with a garden. We lived just there and were very satisfied, because. we had a view of the garden and the pool, and behind them we could see the sea (ATTENTION - this is ONLY UNDER THE CONDITION OF THE SETTLEMENT on the 2nd FLOOR, do not take the first one), so from the balcony it was possible to understand whether there was a wave on the sea or not.
When checking into this hotel, there are standard problems - they try to offer something a little different, they try to leave the best for Italians (the main vacationers) or for especially scandalous ones. We were offered the first floor. We went, looked, said that we had paid for a room with a sea view, and from the first floor there would be no sea view, and if they don’t have other rooms, then we ask for a written explanation with the stamp of the hotel, according to which we will demand compensation from your travel agency. The rooms on the second floor were found immediately, and all three in a row, as we needed and we were satisfied, because. insisted on their own, but without additional payment and without serious problems. Of course, all negotiations were conducted in English, so if anyone has problems with him, it is better to choose another hotel.
The rooms are quite comfortable and spacious. There is a sofa that easily turns into an extra bed for a child.
Service: In general, the service is quite decent, we did not feel discrimination (with the exception of pool bars, where they serve primarily Italians), towels are changed every day, towels on the beach, sunbeds, etc. enough and in a fairly clean and tidy form. The waiters in the restaurant are kind, the traders in the shops are not annoying. And in general, no one showed any impudence. We were with two adult girls (16 and 18) - we enjoyed talking with them, chatting, showing signs of attention, but there was no obsession (in contrast to the Grand Plaza in Hurghada, where the 14-year-old daughter had to be accompanied everywhere by her father).
Drinking: They try. The food is plentiful, quite varied, but... one cannot say that it is tasty. There were "successful dishes", but in general....In a word, you can choose, you won't get poisoned and you won't stay hungry, but if the main thing for you on vacation is to eat deliciously - this is not here.

The restaurant gives only bottled water, but you can take a lot.
