We went with this hotel because we read reviews about its good reef. That's why we took "all inclusive" to swim all day among the fish, rising from the beach only to eat and sleep. Our expectations for the hotel were clearly too high. In addition, the last time they were in Sharm in Sea Life (Charmillion) was back in January 2010, when Egypt did not know what hardships would soon overwhelm its hotel business. Here, subconsciously, they compared everything with that "golden era". And if you look "here and now" - everything is fine, you just need to adapt. We, besides, for the first time went to rest on holidays. Not accustomed to the abundance of fellow vacationers, they were annoyed by the queues in the canteen and the abundance of people on the "lower" beach. Yes, sunbeds had to be taken there at 8 o'clock. Otherwise, there are no places at 9-10. And often only towels "sunbathe" on sunbeds. But with us, an energetic young lady with a child calmly folded these towels on a nearby sunbed and spread hers there. According to the rules of the hotel, it is impossible to occupy sunbeds for a long time (without presence). Another thing is that this rule is neglected! But we prefer to sunbathe in the early morning, and there are much more fish in the sea in the morning! The fish are very different, familiar and new, but mostly not big. Moray wasn't there. There were slopes. There was no wind. Swimming with a mask is fabulously pleasant, like in a huge aquarium! Rescuers are on duty all day on the pontoon and above. It’s not hard to go down to the beach from the room, we often drove up at lunchtime (the bus goes up every 30 minutes).
Yes, the canteen of the lower hotel is overcrowded, it is difficult to wait for coffee and tea at lunch and dinner. There are broken dishes. I think the reason is that in a large number of people who came for the holidays, they got all the "reserves". The waiters, at first glance, barely moved, but then we realized - they were dead tired after the Christmas dinner, because we arrived on December 25 - the next day. We began to go to lunch and dinner in the upper restaurant - everything is much calmer there, the head waiter carefully seats the guests, the choice of dishes is similar to the lower option, but the hand of another cook is felt (other spices, recipes). True, the grill for dinner is only in the lower restaurant! The public of the second line is calmer, more foreigners, fewer citizens hysterically scooping up plates "with a slide" as before the end of the world! Then these plates remain on the tables almost untouched! Fish, chicken, beef in different versions - in sufficient quantities. Salads, side dishes, vegetables, desserts - everything is there. The soups are delicious: both mashed vegetable soups and dressings (I liked it with seafood). Side dishes, desserts are repeated every day - it's true. If you want to eat potatoes every day - it will be the same. But who makes her take it every day! In addition, in the bar by the sea every afternoon there were french fries and hamburgers for those who wished.
Now the number. The hotel is lower. Small standard room. The furniture is normal, everything you need is there. The same thing, but with a slightly larger and newer room - and on the second line. For $ 20 at the front desk they gave a room overlooking the "loud" pool, behind which is the sea. We got an excellent quiet room 1237 without extra charge overlooking the "upper" hotel and palm trees in front of the entrance. Planes were flying, but it was almost impossible to hear them. We hardly opened the balcony. The air conditioning in the room worked (the cleaner turned it on). But we did not turn it on - it was fine. There were mosquitoes the first night. But already on the second day, the cleaner presented us with "Raid" (that's what the life-giving dollar does! ), Mosquito problems were no longer known. At least they saw bitten kids on the beach (the result of parental evening ventilation, obviously). The water in the bars and on the beach is only draft (in cups), and on the beach, it happened that it ended. We took a bottle from our room with us. The janitor left a 1.5 liter bottle of water a day, which was enough for us. We did not try alcohol, but people drank something all the time. Coffee, tea, a set of cosmetics in the room - everything was regularly replenished daily. Swans, fish, etc. from the towels on the beds - everything was there. A couple of times there was a delay with towels - apparently also due to the influx of customers - brought clean towels only after dinner. The plumbing in the room is excellent, everything is in order and reliable. Nothing drips, leaks, clogs anywhere. Cleaned was clean (there is something to compare). A big plus of our room - next to the stairs directly to the doors of the SPA. Free sauna, hammam, jacuzzi. Everything works fine. They went in a day. There were not very many people there. There were no queues. The room originally had an iron and ironing board, there was no hair dryer, they wrote to the guide in the questionnaire in the morning - in the afternoon the hair dryer was already under the mirror.

The festive dinner with the show program was not bad. On the stage - songs-dances for different tastes (both oriental, and European, and ours). Some I really liked, some less. Plus a disco. Food on 4 menus is different, we preferred seafood. Handouts were beautifully designed. But it is extremely unpleasant that the guide did not tell us that it was necessary to register in advance in the upper lobby and “fill in” places. We registered only on the second day, when there were no seats left in the center where the stage was clearly visible. It's a shame, considering that we paid for it back in September!
We made one (free) trip to an Italian restaurant. Didn't make much of an impression, but not bad for a change.
We went on excursions to Petra: 430 dollars for two (we ordered more from home, via the Internet, from a local operator, not from a guide from the hotel, they have 610), we liked everything except the cold, but we were told that it had become cold for 2 days It's nature, you can't argue with it. We also went on a free tour from Teztour with the "sniffing" of goods by the sponsors of this very tour (even in Soho, sweets were 2 times cheaper in the minimarket, but the choice, of course, is less). So here it is for an amateur! But the mosque was brought to see. They no longer carry people to the Coptic temple. They said that our tourists somehow behaved incorrectly there. Sadness, however.
Animation in the hotel is, but unobtrusive in the best sense of the word. Girls came up to us and offered yoga, and something else, but not finding a response, they didn’t “get it”. We saw that someone jumped in the pool to the music with obvious pleasure! That is, there were those who wished, they liked it.
While driving around Sharm, we could make sure that some of the hotels do not work at all, another part somehow (or somehow) makes ends meet. In Sea Life, a plot was taken away for potatoes at the entrance! So, perhaps the disadvantages of this hotel today are the result of a general crisis in the industry! But the crisis did not make the sea less blue, and the fish in it less bright. You just have to enjoy it and your vacation will certainly be successful!
Our impressions of the New Year's holiday in general - positive.
We are unlikely to go to the same hotel again, but rather, simply because we want to see something new every time.
