The Sierra Sharm-el-Sheikh 5 * hotel does not belong to the chain, but has one owner, who also owns Savoy 5 *, Four Seasons 5 * and, in fact, Soho Square itself, which has certain advantages. But more on that later.

We flew together with a friend to celebrate her birthday, operator Join Up. This time, thank heavens, without incident.

It is worth noting the arrival at the oldest terminal of Sharm airport, which was somewhat discouraging - shabby walls, creaky luggage belt, clogged bathrooms and a completely creepy exit to the street through some kind of tunnel (((. According to rumors, the new terminal was under sudden repair. Departure from Sharma was also from the old terminal.

The hotel mostly met Ukrainians, Kazakhs, Uzbeks, Italians. At the hotel, 95% of the staff speaks English, keep in mind.

The check-in took place accompanied by a clarification of relations with the reception, who tried to provide the most budget room, although initially at the agency we paid for accommodation in a room on the 1st floor with a terrace. They changed it with a creak, we did not pay extra. The room was in building 5, which is adjacent to the restaurant, so the constant hum of the kitchen hoods was heard, but this did not bother us. The yard is closed, so you could sleep peacefully with an open balcony, there is also a mosquito net to keep mosquitoes out (by the way, this season they were especially hungry, but for some reason they were not poisoned). The furniture in the room is already tired, but everything worked properly. The bathroom has a set of minicosmetics - gel, shampoo, body cream, hand soap and a shower cap. There is also a bag for hygiene waste and paper napkins.
Keep in mind that in this building the keys to the rooms are not electronic, but ordinary, so they give out one per room, regardless of the number of people.

The beds are comfortable, wide enough, the linen is fresh, snow-white, there are 2 pillows for 1 person, both did not fit on the bed)) The TV is large, there are a lot of channels, there seem to be Russian-speaking ones, but we found a channel with hits from the 90s and didn’t switch from it anymore . I always note the presence of curtains with a blackout effect, and here they were also. I also liked the organization of the electrics, when you turn on the light with one switch, and turn off the other (at the head of the bed). Information for tourists is scarce, only the schedule of meals. We did not find any map of the hotel, nor a schedule of animation and entertainment (including at the reception).

The restaurant is small, there is an outdoor area from the side of the hotel entrance, as well as from the side of the main pool, there are two halls indoors.
The food is not very varied, but everything I tried was delicious. I was upset by a strange set of salads (some non-standard ingredients), a meager selection of fruits (dates, persimmon, which terribly knitted my mouth, pears, agave, unripe melons). Half of the dishes are available directly to tourists, and in general they are not particularly worried about covid restrictions. Only employees wear masks, and they wear them randomly.

There are several pools on the territory, including those with sea water, two of them are heated - the main one and relaxation, possibly also for children (did not check). There are bars everywhere, there is access to the bar even from the water.

The lobby bar is open until 1 am. I liked the music that played there - not stupid pop, but light house.

The beach is small, in the morning it can be difficult to find a sunbed. The pontoon is not long, you can see fish and corals, but the people in the water in the morning are dark - dough and hectic. The sand is dirty.
They wrote that they cleaned it in the evening - we stayed several times until the very closing of the beach and I did not notice the cleaning. On the beach, a bar not only with soft drinks, but also with a full-fledged bar, they also offer burgers, sandwiches and french fries for lunch, in addition, they serve ice cream in factory packaging. The shuttle regularly carries to the beach and back every 20 minutes. Pleased with a good bathroom. Near the beach there is a volleyball court where games are constantly held.

Upon arrival, we received vouchers for visiting the spa, but in reality it is just a sauna, we signed up, but did not visit.

We went to the Old Town to the fish market. We jumped into an ordinary city minibus - the main thing is to tell the driver the place where you are going, because there are no routes, the driver goes where he sees fit)) the fare cost 1 dollar per person. We bought 3 kg of shrimp and 2 kg of crabs - it turned out to be 53 dollars. They also scored mango, $3 per kg, small ones - $4.
We took a taxi back - 10 dollars.

We also went on a city tour with a visit to the Tutankhamun Museum and dinner at a restaurant. In the souvenir market, mangoes turned out to be cheaper - $ 2.5 per kg.

In the evening we went for a walk in Soho. For Kharkiv residents, this place will not be something surprising, because it is a mixture of our Gorky Park and the golden sky on Constitution Square)) For hotel guests there is an opportunity to visit a bar on the square near the stage, it's free. There are many shops on Soho, but the prices there are significantly inflated, it is better to skimp in the Old Town.

Upset the attitude of the hotel to the birthday. I warned the guest relation, the general manager, the representative guide of the tour operator, asked the waiters whether the table would be decorated for dinner, when booking the tour, our agent indicated a note about the DR, but all the hotel did was sent a waiter with a cake to the room.

We saw that others were decorating tables with flowers and balls, and the animators themselves said that they organized a congratulation for some guest. Unpleasant.

At an early departure, we were given a "brake", of which we did not take half - two rolls with small pieces of cheese, juice, an apple, water, a sweet puff.

Hotel pros:
1. Location. Finally, you can walk not only around the hotel.
2. Silence in the room. We never heard our neighbors, once we heard a night arrival - tiles in the corridor, not carpets.
3. Territory. It’s beautiful, green, but the cleaning is C grade, because all week of my vacation I watched a cigarette butt lying on the lawn near the restaurant.
4. Food.
5. Reef.
6. Service. You could have a little chat with many of the hotel staff, they smiled and were friendly, quickly remembered the names and asked how you were doing.
7. Wi-Fi worked throughout the territory and the room, it was enough for calls to instant messengers and posting on Instagram.
8. Music.
Lack of pop music, during the day r'n'b played at the pool, in the evening at the bar - house.

Minuses:
1. Fraud during the settlement, unpleasant.
2. Essentially no fruit.
3. Virtually no entertainment in the hotel. The animators tried very hard, but their work remained unnoticed, since there was no entertainment schedule anywhere, in addition, they focused more on out-of-town parties in clubs for a fee. You can't dance in the hotel.
4. Guest relation.
5. Service. Yes, there have been cases when bartenders in a restaurant or on the beach worked "left behind" with a displeased face, as if you had come to their house.
6. It is impossible to eat anywhere after dinner. There are no late night soups or buffets, so from 21-30 it's time for intermittent fasting))))
7. Lack of bathrooms on the territory. More precisely, it was the only one that was closed after the closing of the pools. By the way, the same applies to Savoy - if, excuse me, you feel an urge, you will have to run to the lobby or to the room.
Overall, I would give this hotel another chance, or pick up a similar one with the ability to walk outside the hotel.
