Just arrived from this hotel. Never wrote reviews. but then I decided that it was necessary!
In Egypt 4 times, and all were 5 star hotels. I chose this hotel because of the good reef. In the reviews, it was the reef that did not cause any complaints. After reading the bad reviews we were ready for anything! But it turned out not to be as scary as they wrote.
I'll start in order.
1. We flew from the tour operator "JoinUP! ". No complaints, everything is clearly worked out, they didn’t bother with excursions!

2. They settled in the hotel quickly, without any additional payments, although they arrived at 10 am! The rooms of our company (6 people) were in buildings starting from 9, this is next to the reception and the main restaurant. Very comfortable, had breakfast and immediately to the sea! The room is basic, no frills. Everything worked, the furniture is old, but intact. Cleaned every day, towels, bedding changed, everything is as it should be, regardless of the one dollar. We went into the room to wash after the beach and already to sleep. Yes, there was no bottled water in the room. But I also met this in fives.
3. Food standard for Egypt. The difference from five-star hotels, in which vacations used to be, is the quantity! For example, for breakfast, not 5 types of yogurt, but one! We had enough! I want to say that I have never eaten so much seafood in Egypt! There was always a salad of squid and mussels, crabs and octopuses (well, or something similar to an octopus), there were 5 types of fish in a week. Further. as always - beef, chickens, lamb. From vegetables, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, various cabbages (cauliflower, broccoli). There were pastries, from fruits - oranges, tangerines, great fruits. bananas, pomegranates, guava (very ripe, delicious! ), dates, prunes, persimmons!
Disadvantages: tea, coffee - barely warm. Glasses and mugs are plastic, but I looked closely - they are clean. Of course, it would be better if the hotel would refuse them, and would buy ordinary dishes.
The bars near the pools have delicious bean coffee and cappuccino!
Lunch was constantly ordered at the grill restaurant on the beach! for this you need to sign up at 6 pm near the main restaurant. Go to the grill restaurant and go close to the beach and have a beautiful view of the sea! You can also have dinner there, but not every day.
4. The beach is good. There are steps about which so many bad things have been written in the reviews. We did not notice them, although all of them are over 50 years old. There is an excellent sandy entrance to the sea, a little further on the pontoon. Enough sunbeds, towels are normal. On the beach there are drinks and water from the cooler.
The reef near the shore is practically dead already, but there are a lot of fish, and baited ones. Tourists do not understand that it is NOT NECESSARY to feed the fish, they become aggressive from this! My husband was bitten by a parrot fish on the finger, I thought. that he would give him bread. Not fatal, but annoying. And near the pontoon, too, there is always a flock of fish waiting for dinner.

If you stand facing the sea, and sail from the pontoon to the right to the cape, then there is a good live reef. And if you sail from the pontoon of the neighboring Reef Oasis hotel to the left, there is also something to see there. We saw stingrays, once a moray eel, a couple of times lionfish, the rest of the fish in a standard set. But many and different sizes. Some were a little more lucky, they saw a manta ray early in the morning, we didn’t catch it.
Boats constantly sail to this reef, scuba divers dive. We swam above them!
Another big plus is the absence of wind in the bay and waves. It's just perfect for a winter getaway! Very clear water in the morning, cloudy in the afternoon. Behind the cape with the lighthouse, where the hotels of the Renaissance, Hilton are located, waves were constantly visible.
5. Animation was. Whoever wanted, he did both aerobics and yoga. There was something in the evenings too. But we went to the city. Very near there is the complex "1001 and one night". If you leave the hotel on the road, then go right! Entrance until 7 pm is free, it's very beautiful there, you won't regret it! There is also a cheap market where you can buy a mask, fins, fruits, etc.
We went to the Old Town, took a taxi there for 2 &, came back on foot, it turned out that it was not far. You can also go and see the local color.
You can go to cafes near the hotel - "minced meat" and "Sedyka cafe". There, mostly young people sat, smoked a hookah. Wi-Fi is not free!
Conclusion: the hotel is ok if you are going to the Red Sea and not sit in your room and eat. And most importantly the mood!
It would be nice if the pools were heated in the winter. After all, there is a pool with waves, and a pool with hydromassage, and a diving tower. But the water in December there is still cool!
There are no exercise machines, there are treadmills covered with age-old dust on the street, I have never seen anyone there. Sauna is paid. But this is still a four, and you can do without it for a week!
I would be glad if my review will help someone in choosing a hotel!
