I would like to tell you about my vacation at Faraana Reef following the still “warm” footsteps.

They decided to go to Egypt with two families. This winter, many of our friends decided to go to Egypt. It looked very tempting, and my (two adults and two children, 5 and 11 years old) and another family (three adults) also decided to rush to Sharm on the same dates. To our luck, at the moment when we decided on the trip, discounts began from the operator. The second success was that the intermediary who selected the tour for us advised the hotel where friends were going because of bad reviews, and recommended the hotel where she herself was. For this I am very grateful to her!

I'll start with the negative, with which my trip began while still "on the shore". Booked tickets and hotel for 6 nights. Flight there and back in the morning. We were confirmed that everything is OK. Then, when the tickets “came out”, it turned out that one family was flying, as planned, in the morning, and my family was flying instead of 06 in the morning at 14 in the afternoon, that is, the first day was stolen from us.
I was "in pieces", especially from the fact that at the moment I noticed the change in departure time, tickets for the morning flight on the operator's website were still available. As a result, the agent was not able to change the tickets, we arrived in the evening, managed that day only for dinner. Judging by the reviews, this is a normal practice for Anex Tour, almost every third review describes a similar situation. It is not normal in our case to name the flight postponement as the reason for the change in departure time. It would seem a big network company, but she doesn't give a damn about customer reviews. Next time I will avoid Anex Tour.
Now directly about the trip.
In Kyiv, everything went as always: fast enough and cheap duty free. I recommend taking alcohol for recreation before departure from Kyiv, about the reason later. If you treat this issue in a businesslike way, then 50 ml of "jackal" for the return flight is also worth buying in Kyiv.
The plane took off at 14:30, flight 3.5 hours, and we are at the airport in Sharm.
You should know a few things: upon arrival in Sharm, you will be given to fill out cards, while they will persistently offer their filling services ($ 5) - do not agree, you need to rewrite ten words and combinations of numbers from your passport and voucher. Take a pen.
The hotel is quite normal. We could not appreciate all its charms, because in winter only a huge jacuzzi was heated, the pools were cold, but judging by the territory and equipment around the pools, it is very cool there.
Wi-Fi is paid, the safe is free in the room.
The food was quite varied, everyone found something for themselves. I performed on grilled meat and fish, the eldest son got hooked on pasta (because there are a lot of Italians in the hotel, a separate cook constantly cooked it at lunch and dinner).

Common drinks that are always included during meals: bottled Coca-Cola, Sprite and beer; diluted juice drinks, tea and coffee. Alcoholic drinks in the bar are very mediocre.
If you ask to make yourself, for example, rum-cola or whiskey-cola, then although the bartender pours more alcohol into the glass than cola, the taste of alcohol is heard only thanks to the flavorings.
Most of all I liked the beach and the sea. The beauty is that the entrance to the sea from the shore is gentle, like in Hurghada, there are corals, but you need to swim to them, so children and not particularly advanced swimmers are expanse. Of course, it’s worth watching under your feet and swimming around large stones so as not to get hurt and not step on a hedgehog, which are where they are deeper.
The coral reef itself is great - beautiful and full of fish. I want to note that you don’t have to swim over the reef with a mask (there is a place where you can swim, and there are wooden and plastic pontoons for passage): a huge variety of fish surrounds you as soon as you dip. As for more or less rare fish, I met two types of moray eels and a stingray in the area between the beach and the reef.
The beauty of swimming behind the reef is in several things: there you can meet fish that stay further from the shore ("needles", manta rays, moray eels, Napoleons, etc. ), plus in winter the water behind the reef is a couple of degrees warmer, because it the open sea, and in front of the reef the water exchange is worse, the water cools down at night.
An indirect sign that this hotel has an excellent coral reef is that ships constantly bring vacationers to swim behind the reef, there was a day when I counted ten yachts anchored behind the reef.
In general, I really liked the hotel and the reef, a great option, my friends, although there were five, the rest turned out to be worse.

About the return, I want to warn you about the following: since our hotel was quite far from the airport, the bus starts to call into it first, and then collects tourists from other hotels on the way to the airport. The bus arrives 3.5 - 4 hours before departure, the road to the airport is from 40 minutes to an hour. The most fun starts at the airport.
Security measures have been significantly strengthened. We stood in line for 45 minutes to pass through the gates at the entrance to the airport (they talk to everyone, look at hotel vouchers, make everyone take off their jackets and take off their shoes, everyone is groped, both men and women), then the usual baggage check-in and the passage of border guards pass quite quickly, and then, for about 45-60 minutes, there is a queue for the passage of flight safety control, where, again, everyone is closely examined and felt. In total, all controls and registrations took us about two hours.
I want to note the very high prices for drinks in the airport cafe before departure: an airplane bottle of wine $8, water $0.5 three to five dollars, Pepsi 0.4 l $4. Whiskey in duty free cost 16 dollars in Kyiv, here 27.
In general, I am very satisfied with the rest, everyone had a rest.
