Great holiday in Spain
Actually, this time we were in Spain not for the first time. But once again we were convinced how interesting this country is with its people, history, sights, nature, sea holidays. Upon arrival, we were met at the airport and taken to the Mercury Hotel on the Costa Maresme. The transfer was not long and what struck me along the way: large, green football fields near schools. Not every football club in Ukraine can boast of such a field.
A little about the hotel: a four, not the best, but nothing unexpected - everything was as they said in the travel agency "Sacvoyage" in Nikolaev, where we are from. The rooms are good, spacious and clean. At the reception they gave everything you need for the settlement immediately upon arrival. In the evenings, animation is not Turkey, of course, but there was something to do in the hotel, although for Spain the hotel is not the main thing. The restaurant was not at all impressed - it is located in the basement, the windows on one side are at head level and there is no view at all. The food is not luxurious, but good - it's 4 stars, not 5. The sea is a 7-minute walk, the beach, like everywhere else, is municipal. Umbrellas and deck chairs for 2-3 euros. But for those who want to save a little, you can buy a straw mat for 2 euros and carry it with you. What is also very striking is the culture of car parking near the beach. On weekends, locals came and parked their cars along the road. And not in the way that is customary with us - 2-4 meters from one another, but 50 cm - you can leave and save space.
The sea was almost immediately deep, the water was warm.
We had lunch and dinner in restaurants located on the street that runs along the sea. For the price: per person it was between 9 and 25 euros plus wine for 5 - 25 euros per bottle. The wine is very good, the food is delicious. Coffee, as elsewhere - 2-3 euros.
We went on excursions - around Barcelona - once a group, once an individual (cannot be compared with a group) and once we went by train ourselves, fortunately, the station is 150 meters from the hotel, we were in Barcelona in 50 minutes and in the very center . We also went to the Salvador Dali Museum in Figueres, to Girona and to the Montserrat Monastery. Ten days of rest flew by so that they did not notice. We were at sea 3 times for half a day, but we had a very good rest.
Spain is a beautiful country, Catalonia is a great place for seaside holidays, educational excursions and museums.
