Hikkaduwa Beach is located in the popular resort of the same name, whose name translates as "coral city", on the southwestern coast of Sri Lanka, 100 km south of Colombo. The length of the beach is about 1.5 km, and the width in its central part reaches 25 meters. In the north, the beach starts from the parking of yachts and boats, in the south it goes to Narigama beach.
In the northern part, there are usually constant waves, surfers gather here. In the center of the beach, less than 200 meters from the shore, there is a coral reef inhabited by moray eels and barracudas, stingrays and many colorful fish. For lovers of scuba diving, a diving club is open on the beach. There are glass bottom boat trips to the reef. In the southern part of the beach there is a small lagoon without waves, where sea turtles swim, which can be fed right in the water. The main street of the Galle road resort runs parallel to the beach, where there are many cafes and restaurants, souvenir shops, hotels and guest houses. Read completely ↓
