We went at the end of September to the Water Planet hotel in the village of Okurcalar in Alanya. In Turkey for the first time. The hotel is going to be seriously reconstructed, from October 1.2011 they moved everyone from the bungalow to the main building, all the bungalows will be demolished, the main building will be reconstructed in the winter of 2011-2012. A TV has been installed in the lobby bar, which shows a slideshow of 3D views of the future hotel. Apparently they are going to transfer from the Holiday Village category to the 5 Star category.

The hotel area is very large, very green, there is a large water park (free for us, for others $ 2 / day). There is a market in a 15-20 minute walk, some goods there are even cheaper than in Donetsk, you just have to haggle. Sometimes it turned out to bring down the price by 3 times!

I liked the hotel in general, we had a great rest. There were also minor "minuses", but there were much more "pluses"! I will write about everything in order and objectively, I will not embellish : )

ACCOMMODATION
We arrived at the hotel at 10:30 after a 2-hour drive from Antalya Airport. Upon arrival, we were immediately sent to breakfast while the rooms were being cleaned. After breakfast, the room was still not given to us, they said that it had not been cleaned yet, despite the fact that they left a bottle of champagne at the reception : ). We left our things and went to swim in the sea. We returned - the same picture. Let's go for lunch. In general, we received the room only around 14:00. True, the room was excellent, fresh renovation, white bedding and towels! The room was on the ground floor overlooking the pool. 5 minutes after check-in, hotel workers came and asked if there were any problems in the room. And there were no problems, unlike those numbers that people who came with us on the same day received - something didn’t work for everyone. Here it is - the power of miraculous champagne! : ) In general, the delay in getting the room did not bother us much, because we immediately started to relax!

NUTRITION
The chefs of the restaurant of this hotel are just magicians! The restaurant staff wears snow-white suits. Before lunch and dinner, they meet at the entrance, greet everyone.

There was not a single tasteless dish! The choice is amazing and everything is fresh, it shows! Tables are also very clean, tablecloths are constantly changed. The dishes are cleaned very quickly, just ate - they immediately take away the plate. Meat: chicken, turkey, beef, lamb. Give fish every other day. Fruits: watermelons, melons, oranges, grapes, apples, pears. Ice cream was given every other day. There is a bar in the restaurant, alcohol is always free (except for breakfast - the bar is closed for breakfast - that's normal : )). I took Turkish vodka for lunch - raki, and alcoholic cocktails for dinner.

BEACH AND SEA

The place is mountainous, so not a beach was made, but a pier, or something. There are sun loungers and umbrellas. Beach bar with free drinks. There were enough sun loungers for everyone, there were no problems with this.
The entrance to the sea is by two stairs - one is deep, with a head, the other is about 1.5 m deep. At first it annoyed, then they got used to it and even found advantages in it: the feet are always clean, not in the sand. The bottom of the sea is rocky, the stones are large, but, surprisingly, not slippery or sharp. Our 9 year old daughter walked on them calmly. The beach is located in a small bay, so there is always calm, the sea is calm even when the wind. Who does not like the entrance to the sea, a 15-minute walk there is a beautiful and clean public sandy beach with free sunbeds and umbrellas, the entrance to the sea is gentle. But there drinks are paid in cafes, so choose for yourself : ) The sea is just super, warm even in the mornings and absolutely transparent! Lots of fish swimming right next to it. Many of them were fed with bread. The water is very salty, so the pushing force is greater than in the Black Sea. This made it easy for my daughter to swim long distances, although she still swam rather weakly and was afraid of the depth.
You can stay at two pools (each of them has a nearby children's pool, 0.5 m deep).

SERVICE

They cleaned the rooms normally. But, despite the fact that they left a dollar every day, they didn’t give us shampoo, but shower gel, and on the last day they didn’t leave water. Another small "minus" - the lack of free Wi-Fi. There was a stationary computer connected to the Internet (for free), I think you can imagine how many people stood in line for it. But we managed to get there without a queue during lunch, when everyone was in the restaurant. : ) So we kept in touch with our homeland. : )

ANIMATION

There is practically no adult animation in the hotel. And don’t, I don’t like to be dragged somewhere, forced to participate in some games, I always have my own plans on vacation, I’m used to finding entertainment myself and I don’t want someone to tell me what to do. But we did not have enough discos, it is a pity that it is not in the hotel. I wish the children's animation was better.
During the day, the same games day after day, and in the evening there is a mini disco, the same dances for children. Animators, change the program at least every other day! On Mondays - Turkish Night - a beautiful performance with Turkish dances, a special ensemble is invited.

TOURS

We took a hammam from the hotel guides and an excursion to Demre-Mira-Kekova. I must warn you right away: do not take a trip to a large spa-hammam. You will not receive individual attention. This is a large public bath, everyone goes there in a crowd, you can hardly find a free place in the steam room, in the Jacuzzi pool, etc. In the hotel, too, somehow the hamam did not inspire confidence - they did not go. Maybe in vain ...Hamam cost adults $ 30, the child is free.

Demre-Mira-Kekova liked it! Very good guide - Taner! Huge thanks to him! Great guy!
He said that he was the only Russian-speaking Turkish guide, unlike his fellow guides of Central Asian origin. Travel very far. We left at 4 in the morning, returned at 19:30, still managed to have dinner. We took a lunch package at the hotel for breakfast (this is a huge bun with tasteless sausage and cheese), lunch was included in the price - a buffet, though not at all the same as in the hotel, very modest, without meat, they gave half a fried fish. After an hour and a half we were already very hungry. Went for a wine tasting. I must say, the Turks do not know how to make wine, but they sell them very expensively. I don't know how they do it, but we didn't buy anything. : ) In general, this tour cost $50 for each adult and $30 for a child.

In general, the rest was just super! I am not inclined to look for flaws everywhere, I evaluate the overall impression and do not pay attention to minor disadvantages. Thanks to our travel agency Rixos-Tour and personally to Lika!
Next year - only with them and only to Turkey!
