This hotel had rave reviews and only one negative - it turned out that it was true. Therefore, in my review only the facts.

The location of the hotel is convenient - walking distance to Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Sq. Sultanahmet and all its attractions, Topkapi, Gulhane park, promenade and tram, Close to the Grand Bazaar and the Egyptian market. The Bosphorus and the Blue Mosque are visible from the windows of the room.

SETTLEMENT. We arrived at the hotel at 13, check-in from 14 and we were asked to take a walk. We filled out the registration papers and went for a walk. We came to check in at 16 o'clock and we were asked to pay for the stay at the hotel, although we paid for the room through booking for all 15 days a month before arrival. I had to prove that we paid for the room in full through booking (the confirmation of payment on the booking website did not affect the administrator).
When we convinced the administrator that the room was paid for, we were taken to check in.

Settled in room number 201 class standard, instead of the suite we paid for - the administrator categorically did not accept the confirmation of the reservation of the suite on booking. We had to call booking support and spend 1.5 hours and an additional 35 euros on a call to booking so that we were accommodated in a suite.

It turned out that the hotel administrator confused our reservation (15 days in a deluxe room with 100% prepayment) with another guest's reservation (3 days in a standard room without prepayment) - that's why they demanded to pay.

The suite was not ready for check-in (How can this be with early booking??? ) and we had to stay in the standard for a day, and the next day move to suite No. 303 with red wallpaper. The red wallpaper suite is cheaper than the gold wallpaper suite we booked. The price difference between the standard, cheaper suite and what we paid for was not refunded.
Moreover: the hotel manager on our review on booking about the settlement wrote "well, the next day you were settled in a suite. "

ROOM. The bed in room No. 303 is not very big - about 150 cm wide, uncomfortable and has a plastic mattress pad under the sheet - it’s just terrible to sleep on it (in standard No. 201 - the bed is comfortable, there was no more polyethylene under the sheet). There is no glass for toothbrushes and a soap dish in the bathroom - we used a glass from ayran. Towels for two can be 5 pcs and 3 pcs (one bath!!! ), but more will be brought to you upon request. In the photos of the hotel in the suite there is a hot tub - it does not work. There are no bathrobes, no glasses (although wine glasses are in the description)) in the suite. Slippers are available, soap, gel and shampoo are available and replenished. The TV in the room did not work - after 3 days it was replaced with a working one, but it only has Turkish channels and you need to watch it through the bars of the bed.
Very poor lighting of the room in the presence of a large chandelier (only 2 bulbs are on), 2 sconces and two table lamps. The room needs a facelift.

Cleanliness of the room - see photos. 2 days before departure, we found a dried worm near the coffee table, which was never removed before departure. The impression is that they clean with a vacuum cleaner once a week, but they take out the garbage and towels are changed daily.

BREAKFASTS are the same - traditional Turkish: cheeses, eggs, olives, tomatoes, cucumbers and French fries, maybe half a fig, a piece of melon / watermelon the size of half a matchbox. The dining area is clean and the cutlery is clean. It is possible to drink coffee from the coffee machine at any time. There are disposable cups for coffee.

WI-FI catches well throughout the hotel.

OVERALL IMPRESSION: We won't come back to this hotel - we didn't get what we paid for.
We booked a hotel in Istanbul 2 years ago in which there is nothing to complain about, but here we fell for the museum, rave reviews and 4 stars, but in vain.
There are other hotels every 10 meters from this hotel, and I'm sure there are worthy ones among them.

The hotel includes 8-10 rooms, on the first floor there is a good restaurant.
Hotel advantages:
1. Quiet, cozy area, close to sights. At night there was no noise from cars, away from street cafes.
You can’t get away from evening, night and morning services, in which hotel in Sultanahmet you didn’t check in, but, in my opinion, they add charm to the city even more.
2. Quite affordable prices: 100 euros for an ordinary room, 140 for a suite (breakfast is continental). The room has everything you need: a good repair, a large bed, a wardrobe, bedside tables, a table with chairs (in the suite), a refrigerator with a mini-bar, a safe, a TV with a couple of sea otters in Russian. language, Wi-Fi, the bathroom is cramped, but clean, tidy, plumbing in excellent condition (jacuzzi - in the suite).
Hairdryer, bathrobe, slippers, a set of 4-5 towels (changed every day), the most amazing thing is that shower gel, shampoo, etc. were added every day.
3. Friendly staff.
4. Arranges airport-hotel transfer (paid separately and in cash only), all other services can be paid by credit card.
5. A good restaurant, not cheap, but not too expensive either. Delicious coffee and baklava, by the way, you can order coffee late in the evening and at night, but not food and drinks.
6. Residents are mostly Europeans, so in the evening there is order and silence in the hotel.

Hotel cons:
1. Cramped rooms, suites are larger than the standard by 3-6 square meters. meters. On the last floor, the ceiling is very low (approximately 2.00 -2.10 m), but the standard height of the walls is 3.5 m. The bathroom is also cramped.
2. The staff speaks only Turkish and English (but even with a little knowledge of English and / or the presence of a dictionary, you can always find mutual understanding).
3.
Every day for breakfast the same thing, the variety, perhaps, only in fruits.

In general: the impression of the hotel is very positive!!!
If you are going to see the beauty of historical Istanbul - you are here!!!

By the way, based on my own experience - dollars, of course, are taken, but not everywhere and not as willingly as our fellow citizens describe, therefore - do not be lazy: change money at exchange offices.

Happy pastime in this wonderful city!! !
