We started the day by riding bicycles from Kaniv to Buchak, and as always it was cool, because big is love. Villages, fields, forests and, of course, the majestic Dnieper passed by.

We rode through hard swamps, which can be seen on my big one. I made bouquets along the way and ate cherries.

It's cool to go here, especially pleased with the 10-minute descent to Buchak.

Thus, Buchak is located on the shores of the Kaniv Reservoir, 20 km north of the city of Kaniv. Foreigners who have visited here compare this area with Switzerland. Cut by deaf gorges, covered with dense forests, the area has long attracted people.

The area around the village is filled with archeological monuments of the early Slavic period. We also visited some archeological excavations. But they didn't see anything there, except that they were digging something there, because it was raining.

Since the 70s of the last century, the village has enjoyed popularity as a place of summer recreation for the artistic intelligentsia. Due to the picturesque nature, films have been made in the village many times, in particular, Yuriy Ilyenko worked here. The decline of the village began in 1974, when the filling of the Kaniv Reservoir began, and continued when the construction of the Kaniv PSP began in 1984. Part of the village was resettled, the natural landscape began to fade, which people from the most remote corners of the former USSR used to come to admire.

The historic Lysukha mountain was cut down by powerful bulldozers, while digging the upper and lower pits destroyed the old oak forest, the oaks of which were no younger than the Zaliznyak Oak. Apparently, it is impossible to calculate how much damage was done to nature during this construction epic. But after the collapse of the Union, they stopped allocating money for this construction, and the builders, leaving everything behind, disappeared. At a time when the upper pit of the hypothetical PSP was overgrown with weeds and acacias, the lower one suddenly came to life. It woke up springs, which gradually filled the pit with water, turning it into a lake. Later, the shores of the lake were overgrown with forest. Interestingly, the water level in the lake is higher than in the Dnieper, which confirms the fact that the lake is fed by sources, not Dnieper water.

However, today they want to resume the construction of the PSP, local activists usually oppose it and do everything in their power to save the area from environmental catastrophe. I want to hope that this beauty will remain the same.

After a walk on the lake, we decided to cook a delicious soup on the fire and just see how cool our oven is)

Then we rode our faithful two-wheeled horses to Kaniv again for the Open Night Film Festival.

A few words about the Open Night Festival is a festival designed to open new Ukrainian names in the field of cinema and television production.

For the 20th year in a row, real moviegoers gather in the open air at the end of June to join the latest innovations, support each other and boast of last year's harvest films. The Open Night Festival will be held under the motto: “Mi. For us. About myself. ».

The Open Night Film Festival was born in June 1997 as a review of the most interesting achievements of Ukrainian cinema. The founder and permanent organizer of the festival is director Ilyenko Mykhailo Herasymovych. Today the festival is a kind of laboratory for testing new ideas for domestic filmmakers and finding young talents who can become new faces of Ukrainian and world cinema. Over 20 years of the festival, the jury has visited more than 100 famous artists not only from Ukraine but also from around the world.

Among them: Lina Kostenko, Yuriy Ilyenko, Oleh Skrypka, Vlad Troitsky, Yuriy Shcherbak, Volodymyr Voitenko, Serhiy Fomenko, Yuriy Shevchuk, Yuriy Andrukhovych, Oksana Zabuzhko, Polish film critic Grzegorz Penkowski, composer Virko Balei.

There was also a small concert before the festival, where the wonderful girls sang and the atmosphere was gorgeous.

By the way, the Kaniv Film Festival will also be held in Kaniv in August, which is a play on words.

Then we went to sleep and prepare for the trip to Trakhtemirov.
