Brief overview of coral health and snorkeling conditions.

We rested at the Savita Hotel. We swam with a mask towards Melia Sinai and beyond. Briefly describe the conditions for snorkeling.

From Savita's pontoon we also swam to the right side, but due to the large accumulation of hotels in this bay, the conditions for snorkeling are unfavorable. Hotels Concord, Sunrise, Savoy - in the sea near the pontoons dense masses of bodies of swimmers, motorboats go over their heads, the smell of kerosene. Beyond the Savoy Hotel there is a section free from the hotel, there are fewer people there (there is a small current), the corals are more or less decent, but not so much that you could swim towards them through the crowds of swimmers.

I will try to briefly talk about the impressions of swimming.

The cross on the map indicates the extreme point where we swam.

Sailed to this place 2 hours 25 minutes.

The section from Savita to the Tiran Island Corinthia pontoon is pleasant enough for swimming.

There are no unique coral gardens or an abundance of rare fish, but swimming is pleasant. A place without waves and currents, the wall of the reef is “scattered”, the sand over which divers will slowly swim, and in the evening Napoleon, overeaten, goes to bed. The first ships with divers and groups of "swimmers" arrive at 9-15 in the morning. Until that time, you can enjoy peace and solitude.

The pontoon Tiran Island Corinthia is always very crowded. Vacationers Melia Sinai must enter the sea without a pontoon(? ). I think it's not very comfortable, especially in fins.

In the area where Melia Sinai ends and Melia Sharm (the protruding part of the cape) begins, there is a beautiful “bottom” section, represented by a type of coral that forms continuous ribbed “hills” of blue, yellow and lilac. Very beautiful. From this place, the current begins and white turbidity rises, which can simply spread along the bottom, like fog, or completely impair visibility.

This "white fog" is colder than the "blue" water in the sea.

During good visibility, a lot of people push over this area, two boats with a transparent bottom turn around on the heads of the swimmers (in the evenings).

Starting from the Melia Sharm hotel, the places are not crowded, since from this place the “weather” changes, the current (sometimes strong) and the wave begin. Sometimes a cold "white fog" swirls.

I really liked swimming there, both against the current and at high speed downstream. Sometimes skirting swirling white clouds. I would recommend this place for "experienced" snorkellers. It is better to go when there are no strong winds.

On the pontoons of Melia Sharm (there are few people on the beach) Coral Beach Rotana, Baron and the last pontoon of the Imperial Hotel (on the construction site, the pontoon is flooded in places) there are few swimmers. Probably wind, wave and current create unfavorable conditions. The underwater world is beautiful.

I illustrate the story with photographs. If anyone is interested I will answer questions and throw more pictures.
