Fun features of Sharm El Sheikh and Cairo seen during our stay there:

• neither in the hotel nor in other places we saw more than one THERMOMETER - we didn't know what the temperature was outside

• there are also no CLOCK on the streets, and there were two in the hotels: at the reception and in the dining room, and that's all - not familiar!

• TRAFFIC Egypt seems to be a chaos – but, despite this, I have not seen a single accident on the road, even the simplest one, and have not seen a single beaten car. Apparently, after the collision, they immediately go about their business, and do not drive broken cars until they are restored.

• BEEPING while the car is moving is considered an integral part of this process, the average speed of minibuses is 70-80 km / h, but no one was driving more than 110.

• SAND on the seashore of our hotel was like buckwheat porridge

• managers in local travel agencies in the NABQ area DO NOT SPEAK RUSSIAN VERY POOR - so it's hard to understand what awaits you on the tour

• during a TRIP TO CAIRO (by plane) do not be surprised that representatives of different excursion companies will be with you

 bought an excursion at the Orbit-tour agency

 EMA-Tour company drove to the airport - an emblem in the form of a heart

 at the airport we were met by a person of an unknown company - he gave registration numbers and disappeared

 Upon arrival in Cairo, we were met again by the Ema-Tour man, but after learning that we were Russians, he sent us to the Aqua Blue guide

 when leaving the airport, we were transferred to the minibus to the guide, I don’t even know what agency he was from, who spoke Russian normally, we already spent most of the time with him - it was the most calm and understandable pastime

 then the guide left us and the driver took us to the airport and dropped us off on the street - saying in Arabic something like: goodbye, then you will figure it out yourself

 Well, we figured it out, after an hour of looking for our flight number, everyone who flew in on our own plane ahead was told that you only paid for a one-way ticket - ha ha. That's why there is no flight. .

 three hours of waiting and everything was decided, thank God we were sent to Sharm for free - upon arrival they said that the plane was sent for us from Sharm on purpose, but no one said where it went at the right time ......applause!

Conclusion - when buying a tour at a local agency, you will save up to $ 100 per person, but get ready that you will be accompanied by different people passing from guide to guide, as a rule, they do not speak Russian well and different situations may arise, like ours with an unpaid flight back - which in a foreign country is not very fun...-)

• RAIN in Egypt happens only two or three times a year - we were lucky we got into a thunderstorm and heavy rain - there is practically no roof at the hotel reception - so the employees ran around with buckets and beach towels, cleaning everything. The roads were flooded, so bus tours to Cairo were cancelled. On the same day we went to the dolphinarium and it was also canceled because of the rain - dolphins don't swim in the rain.

• Despite the fact that people travel from all over the world to see the Pyramids - NEAR THE PYRAMIDS there are a lot of unorganized souvenir sellers who rush after you offering to sell you something - especially a lot of stray children selling everything for $ 1 - in general, an oriental bazaar.

• Egyptian COTTON is considered one of the best in the world - but in tourist areas you will not find things made of cotton familiar to us - only T-shirts with symbols, local robes and some other Adidos or Armani-style fakes.

• In our hotel there were about 7 TV channels and not one Russian. There was one funny French channel on which a song of some singing dolls was played in a circle all day long. They will sing songs for 1 minute and repeat in a circle for whole days - it's funny.

• Even in quite decent stores you will not find PRICES for goods - the only exception is METRO chain stores.

• In general, the PRICES for everything in charm are quite high. For example - a local bought a bottle for $ 10 in a store, and in Duty Free at the airport there was the same one for $ 5. I was offered an ordinary black foliage for $40 - 1200r - but after my comments on this matter, I dropped it to $10, which I still think is a little expensive for local grass.

• Every second person in SHARM is called MUHAMMED, there are also very rare names - for example, the waiters in the hotel were called Eddie Murphy.

• Only MEN work in Sharm – I have seen two women in all my time.

One in the hotel - she commanded the cleaners (apparently, therefore, men, even for $ 1, do not decorate the bed in the room during cleaning). The second was a salesperson in a children's goods store.

• Local BEER Stella and Skkara as well as Turkish beers are heavily carbonated, heavily chilled and slightly sour.

• Boiled SAUSAGE in stores has a diameter two to three times larger than in Russia.

• There are no PAYPHONES on the streets of Sharm, and you can buy a normal SIM card not in every tourist area.

• The hotel bakes mountains of all kinds of pastries - BUN.

• Favorite Phrase of an Egyptian in Sharm on the street “Hello, How are you? ”

• To LUCK a tourist into a shop they say “hello bro - let's just go see - free” or “Can I ask you to write a review about our shop? ”

This is how Egypt is - for tourists it is Arabic original!
