Before giving an assessment to the Montanamar hostel (namely, the hostel, since it is impossible to call IT a hotel), I want to say that Loret de Mar is a very beautiful city, this resort is the best for young people. For older people, I advise you to choose another city - Santa Susanna, Tosa de Mar, Blanes... but not Loret. The city starts to come to life around 10-11 pm. Endless discos, vibrant nightlife, wonderful nature, gorgeous beaches, convenient transportation. But all these are the advantages of the city, but not the hotels.
I'll start in order
1. Location - not far from the sign where Loret ends, 10 minutes walk to the beach (it's not annoying). But for lovers of nightlife, I still advise you to choose another place to stay. It takes about 30 minutes to walk to the street where the nightclubs are located. To the bus station, about 15 minutes... But it's quiet around. The only thing is, if you decide to return to the hostel after 10, you will have a very exciting journey along the road along the swamp with reeds (!!! ) yes, that's right! But there is a good supermarket nearby. Here, as they say, to each his own.
1. Territory - but it doesn’t exist at all, so that you can understand, apart from the miserable 3x3 pool, there is nothing else in the hotel... The pool is a different story. For 2 weeks of rest, we did not dare to swim there. Since garbage is constantly floating there, napkins, which no one is in a hurry to clean up. The sun loungers around the pool are dirty, everything is broken, the umbrellas are full of holes and miserable... In general, in order not to get infected, it is better not to swim in the pool. There is a type of bar on the first floor, a beer costs 2 euros. . . and there is a TV, plasma by the way. For two weeks of rest, Wi-fi did not work for them, a copier, a printer constantly broke down, and no matter what you asked for, the answer was the same - kaput. Copier kaput, printer kaput, Internet kaput..... The funniest thing is the reception. The fact is that only one girl speaks English from the staff in Montanemar... All the rest speak only French and Spanish. So, on the day of arrival, ours was very kindly met at 2 am by a pot-bellied Frenchman, to whom I tried to explain in all languages for half an hour that I wanted to drink tea. But he understood me only when I took out a Spanish phrasebook. If you do not know Spanish or French, you are clearly not in this hotel.
3. Room - we lived together with a friend, there was nowhere to put things, the room was very small, shabby, the lamp in the bathroom had a disco effect, the chair was broken, the table on the balcony was falling apart, but we only took a shower and changed clothes in the room, so actually everything was equals. The TV was unplugged on the first day and never turned on, for the reason that the remote did not work. There was no air conditioning or fan in the room. And those who had air conditioning were asked to pay 3 euros a day for the pleasure of using it! There is a safe in the room and it costs 10 euros per week.
4. Food - if you like sprats, canned peaches and pineapples - go to Montanumar! For lunch and dinner, all drinks, even water are paid, there is very little fruit.... the food choice is not for gourmets. Those who want to lose weight should go to this hotel. By the way, a couple of times for dinner they gave semi-finished products !! ! And in the hotel, along with vacationers, cleaners, builders, waiters, and all and sundry always have dinner!
Summing up, I can say that this hotel is not 3 stars for sure, they save on everything and, frankly, it smacks of redneck, moreover, specific. The service at the hotel is not that at a low level it is not there at all. We were saved only by the fact that we walked around the city all the time, went to the beach, went on excursions. By the way, from Natalie Tours there is a good guide Jessica. In general, if you only choose where to go, bypass this hotel and read the reviews! And if you have already bought a tour, then take more money for excursions, and spend less time there. All in all it was a great holiday in Spain, but we saw other triplets in Loret, it's heaven and earth compared to Montana.
