Eixample is the heart of the Barcelona of modernism, and living in it and imbued with its spirit turned out to be the right choice!!! Beautiful houses are everywhere! Already the fact that the area was built up according to the plan already 200 years ago is impressive!

Narrow streets
Inspection of the Gothic Quarter began with the main cathedral. Outside is impressive. Unfortunately, we didn't get inside. It seems that they came at the office hours, but the tourists were sent to the “backyard”, due to the fact that there was a service (it was on Sunday).

Observation deck at the top of Montjuic
We go into the fortress (5e) - a military facility of the 20th century, that is, not a medieval castle at all. We are interested today mainly as an observation deck on top of Montjuic with views of Barcelona, the commercial port, and the sea.

Walk in the green area of Montjuic

Casa Milla (La Pedrera) The main highlight (except for the facade) is the roof. Gaudi generally fought against faceless and sloppy roofs, but here something very special came out (apparently due to the spaciousness), strict (like the whole building), mysterious, similar to a castle.

What can I say about the Aquarium ...I agree with my son's assessment - "It's cool, but it was awesome in Istanbul. " Visit if you (like us) like to go to this kind of aquariums, have not been to them for two years, you simply do not have them in your area (country, or closer than 1000 km).
