In my opinion, just fermentative. There are many beautiful old buildings in Polotsk, and those that are not old are often stylized as antique. Walking center of the city - from St. Sophia Cathedral along the university building (there is also very beautiful inside), further along Francysk Skaryna Avenue to the very end, cute houses along Nizhne-Pokrovskaya, Communist, Voikov, Evfrosinya Polotskaya streets, the Western Dvina embankment, on the other side of the park and Outside this perimeter is already boring. Reviews today for all Belarusian hotels will be finished, I hope they will be published in the near future. I didn’t find decent hotels in Polotsk itself for my dates, more or less they look like Slavyanskaya, Dvina and Parus, but all of them, judging by the photo, are decorated in a harsh Soviet style.

If you want space, then Minsk is the best. There is more to see here. Hotels in Belarus all suffer from the "smell" of the post-Soviet era. (except of course 4-5*)

Still Polotsk. In Minsk, three of us four were recently. Unexpectedly faced with the problem of booking a hotel. Bukin gives 16 options. Of these, 8 - boarding houses 60 km. from Polotsk. The rest is microhostels. And the hotel ...... attention ....... FIBER GLASS!!! Which is basically a hostel.
