how to get on your own from the hotel to the meeting point?
I wanted to go with my daughter for a week in the Czech Republic. Before that, we were in Romania and liked the organization very much: a guide and a bus were waiting for us right at the hotel. And about Prague, they said that we had to get to the city center ourselves, look for a guide, and then go on an excursion ... It’s scary after all, we’re going to the Czech Republic for the first time, tell me, is it worth worrying and how to behave? To be honest, I'm afraid of getting lost, being late, etc., after all, I'll be with the child.

Prague is a very friendly city and transport links there are very good, there are trams and metro. I think you will be happy to help at the hotel, they will tell you how and where to go, even you can most likely buy tickets there for both the metro and the tram. Be sure to take a map, you can also in the hotel at the reception (only not with the Russian name of the streets, otherwise not a single Czech will tell you anything about it). Ask your hotel to circle your hotel on the map, and then even without knowing the language you can show the map to any taxi driver and you will be taken to the place. The main thing, if anything, do not hesitate to ask.

You can calm down a little.
Even though Prague is a big city, it is a unique compact place in Europe.
An excellent developed transport system will allow you to get to any meeting point with a guide or group. The main favorite transport of the city is the tram, its routes are laid through the city in such a way as to allow residents and tourists to reach the most remote corners of the city. A public transport ticket costs 26 kroons, this ticket is valid for all types of transport, but it is limited in time - only 75 minutes on weekdays. Although this is enough to drive the city from one remote corner to another!
Yes, for a child under 15, a ticket costs only 18 crowns.
Tickets can be sold at your hotel reception!
Don't worry, everything will be alright!!

The meeting point with the guide is ALWAYS appointed at the monument - Wenceslas on horseback on Wenceslas Square. He is alone there! Right next to him there is an exit from the metro station MUSEUM. If you live somewhere near the metro, there are no problems at all, you get to MUSEUM, go to the surface and you are there. If your hotel is not in the center, then you will be told a hundred times on the way from the airport which buses go to the metro and they will give you a map. Tickets are usually sold at the hotel or at stops at kiosks. Prague is a very small town, on the first day at 11 pm we left the bus in the wrong direction from the hotel and almost got lost)) and so we wandered at night, asking passers-by for directions, by the way, a lot of Russians walk at night)) everyone was happy to explain the way to us) And remember, you will not go on excursions alone, be sure someone from your hotel will also travel with you :) good luck and do not be afraid)

Thank you very much!!! And now another question was formed, sorry if immodest. It's about the price of the issue. I want to meet 40,000-45,000 for two. Is it real at all? I went to the sites of tour operators, a lot of offers, and you start counting - your head is spinning, there are so many pitfalls !!! Either the site is incomprehensible, or the operator believes that she herself should know everything ... What is the cheapest way to get there: railway or air?

Sophie, are you from Russia?
You can get to the city center by tram (stop "Wenceslas square" or "Wenceslas name"). People over 40 mostly speak Russian, young people speak English. =) In addition, your tour operator should give you a map of PRAGUE. How many times I go, they always gave us.
And further. Consider the option of a tour from Ukraine. Ideally from Lviv (less to go by bus), but you can also from Kyiv.
The advantage is that a bus will take you to all excursions, and back on your own, but the guide will tell you how to get there. In addition, you will have a group leader. =)
Our tour for 7 days costs approx. 200 euros. =)
If you have any questions, please ask! =)
Good luck!=)
