Please tell me, will it be possible to combine business with pleasure, travel and shopping if we are in Prague from December 26 to January 4? I read that shops are closed at this time?

We really like the big Chodov store, which is located at the metro station of the same name. It will be open on the days of your stay (except 31-1). Good luck!

Thanks! I hope so too!!!

Prague is a great place for shopping. I think shops will be open on 26.12-4.01 (maybe not all these days) and there will be + New Year's sales - Prague knows that many tourists come to them for the New Year;)
I don’t know how targeted your shopping is, but look at clothes / shoes and glass and jewelry :)
аватар Helen221270
Thank you, this is reassuring, in parallel with sightseeing I want something "for the soul" (just kidding!). Thanks for the answer.

Shopping in Prague is very expensive. It is better to buy everything in large supermarkets on the outskirts of the city or in general - outside the city, if you have a bus tour and you stop by Tesco or a similar store, you can really buy everything at once - beer and Mozart sweets. And in shops of manufactured goods - real discounts. And in the center of Prague - although it says% percent (i.e. discounts), but the prices are just awful.
Good prices were in Dresden. Not far from the Town Hall Square, just opposite the square where there are Christmas tents - shoe stores. There I saw Timberlain boots (super shoes!) for 49 euros per pair. They do not cost us less than 150, even at sales.

Thanks for the valuable advice!

I don't quite agree with the previous author. Yes, the Tesco supermarket is good in prices, but it is mostly a grocery supermarket, and, by the way, it is not only on the outskirts, we found it literally 5 minutes walk from Wenceslas Square. But! You are unlikely to find good, high-quality clothes and shoes there. This is not the same store. Regarding clothes, I advise you to open a beautiful 5-level huge shopping center Palladium 2 years ago. Few people know about it, it is also in the center, on the square. Republic, very close to the Powder Gate. You will recognize him by the logo on the entire full face of the shopping center - a picture that changes with all colors on the entire front wall (a boy playing the trumpet). In the Palladium you will find all known and unknown European brands with a significant Christmas discount. It was there that we bought up, brought home one more piece of luggage ranging from down jackets, jeans, boots to daughter's prom dress and sandals :) Enjoy your holiday and successful shopping!

Many thanks!!! I'm already looking forward to it!!!! :) My husband, looking at me, says: "Don't forget, we're going on a sightseeing tour." And where to look stylish silver, at normal prices?
аватар kievlanka
Will you only be in Prague? if so, then there in the center, on Wenceslas Square. there are several jewelry stores, a large selection of silver, silver, very stylish jewelry with garnets, there is also gold. But garnet, in my opinion, does not look good with gold, and vice versa - with silver it is very elegant. I advise the ALLO chain of stores, on Wenceslas Square. one or two of these stores exist. But if you travel around the country, I advise you not to buy silver, garnets in Prague (not because of the quality! The quality is equally excellent there), buy in Kutna Hora, Cesky Krumlov - it is much cheaper there. We bought wonderful silver bracelets, chains, rings in Ch.Krumlov. Were very satisfied! ))

You will choose products with pomegranates - remember that the Czech pomegranate is a real pomegranate color, all others (Asian, Indian) have a root tinge. And the Czech pomegranate is not big.

Can anyone tell me when sales are before or after Christmas in Prague? What time are the shops open until?
аватар kievlanka
There are sales before and after Christmas, and after the New Year. Each store is different. But there will be discounts for sure, the crisis is in the yard, buying opportunities have fallen, but the need to sell remains. Clothing and shoe stores are mostly open until 20-21 o'clock, shopping centers until 22 o'clock. But different restaurants, cafes, pubs - until late. Make time for this too, try Czech dishes, excellent beer. It's worth it. For example, I could not stand beer until the Czech Republic, and only there I realized its true taste. True, for some reason it spread only there, within that country, when I returned home, I don’t drink it here again :)

Thank you very much for your answers and advice! I also like silver more.

There is a marvelous shopping center - Outlet Fashion Arena (address Prumyslova, Praha 10 - Sterboholy, the final station of the green metro line) Mango, Wrangler, Levi Strauss, Mex, Ekko, Scamander and others - all stock shops, prices are corresponding - discounts of about 50% , a shopper's paradise. I don’t know how they are during the Christmas discount period (end of December-beginning of January), but if all this discount magnificence becomes even cheaper ... in short, it’s worth checking. Their branded minibuses run from the metro, free of charge.
And I also like the New Smichov shopping center (Plzeňská 8 - 150 00 Praha 5) - Etham, Guise, Lacoste, Benetton, Orsay, Tattum, Zara - a very large selection! But I love it for children's fashion stores - Chikko and Pompo - bring a suitcase of outfits for children, even without discounts - it's really cheaper than in Kyiv.
Casual wear - T-shirts, raglans, etc. -it's best to take in Tesco -if not branded, but wearable and inexpensive things for home, summer cottage, tours (:-) ) or for children, so as not to feel sorry for washing every day.
In general, look for the Sleva sign - discount :-)
By the way, the chip of the Czech Republic is gold jewelry with rubies, we have 30 percent cheaper, but the choice, of course, is not the same.
Have a nice shopping!

Thank you, if I can, I will definitely look into these stores, but is the first store far from the center?
аватар Lu-la-la
Outlet Fashion Arena? Too far. If from Wenceslas Square, then somewhere around the seventh or eighth metro stop, and even by minibus up to 10 minutes, + you still have to wait. And there is one more drawback - all the boutiques of the center have entrances only from the street, when it's cold - the pleasure is doubtful.
By the way, pay attention to the shops "Bata" and "Promod" in the area of the same Wenceslas Square. -very good choice and quality (it makes no sense to compare the wretched assortment of Kiev Promod outlets with Prague ones). You get to the sales season, so you can see.

Lumila writes about the delights of Outlet Fashion Arena. But it's so far from the center! Why go somewhere to the outskirts, waste precious time, if all the brands named and unnamed by it (both for adults and children) are in PALLADIUM at practically the same prices in the center? In addition, Palladium is a huge 5-level shopping center, where on each floor you can relax, have a tasty and inexpensive snack and then calmly shop in warmth, satiety and leisurely. And there is only one entrance from the street, and then go to your pleasure in all the boutiques and cafes for at least the whole day (the shopping center area is really huge, I'm afraid that even one day will not be enough for you, especially with fittings) :)

By the way, I still remember! I would not advise you Bata shoes, they are of course cheap, but the quality is ... like in Kyiv in Troyeschina, the leather is very hard and the shoe, well, horror, how uncomfortable. We went there, measured, but didn’t buy anything :( Waste of time. Again, in the same Palladium you will find all shoe brands from ECCO to Fornarina and there are also a lot of German and Austrian high-quality shoes that are not in Kyiv. Yes I also advise you to go to SA and HM boutiques on Wenceslas Square !!! Very affordable brands for the price, but the quality is just super (and they are not available in Kyiv) We bought a lot with our young lady there, we still wear it with joy And they are even happy that these brands are not yet in Kyiv, because I don’t want to see the same clothes on others :))

+ in favor of NM!
I can’t say that I did shopping in Prague, but I went to this store (I remember :)) and I remember that I liked it very much and I even bought something there :)

to kievlanka -Palladium is an excellent shopping center and Outlet Fashion Arena is inferior to it in many ways. BUT! -The arena is stock stores and the price in them is, on average, half as much as in the Palladium. Here you need to choose a priority - either in the center and the latest collections, or ride to the outskirts and buy high-quality clothes with a specific discount. In the Arena, by the way, there are also many inexpensive cafes.

to Lumila: 1) Do we already have a discussion? I don’t understand why? let the author of the question decide for herself what to do with our advice and where to shop. After all, as I understand it, the more practical advice a person is given, the more choice he has. 2) do you really think that a tourist, having arrived in Prague and wishing to buy something beautiful, high-quality and cheap, must definitely go to the outskirts of the city by 2 modes of transport and still on foot, in winter, only to stock??! How for me, a dubious pleasure. Such shopping may be preferred only by resellers who later want to sell this product with fat at home. 3) Why did you decide that the Palladium is twice as expensive and that there are only the latest collections? This is not so. Firstly, there the initial prices are already an order of magnitude lower than in Kiev, and secondly, when Christmas. discounts -there are simply ridiculous prices and let the person decide for himself where to buy. And the saved time will be spent on the same inspection of the city, there is something to see and it is impossible to see everything even in several visits. Prague is addictive, I know for sure. 4) Tell me, lumila, have you yourself been to the Palladium to blame him like that? 5) And you know, I guess that it was you who pointed the minuses to my answers. It's somehow frivolous, childish

to watercolor! Thanks for the solidarity! :) We still wear blouses, trousers of the HM brand (the quality has not been lost even after washing). I also like to buy bags, scarves there (Oh! an ode to their scarves, there are definitely no such scarves in Kyiv!), and my daughter loves jewelry there: bracelets, earrings, pendants ...

I could not resist writing about Batya ...
I absolutely agree that the name Batevskaya shoes are consumer goods, for one season ...
BUT! In Batya stores - there is one super-duper moment!
They sell not only their shoes, but also other decent TMs. This summer, I bought cool Active-kemel clogs from them, of course - leather, banter appearance ... in terms of hryvnia - they cost 350 UAH .... in Kyiv, I saw exactly the same 1800 UAH ... .
still in Prague there is a good selection of shoes in Leiser. I know two - both on Prshikop ...

We liked the shop at Cenny Most metro station, yellow line. The store is designed for local residents - guests are rarely there. Prices are similar to Tesco, but the choice of sizes is much larger.

There is a very good outlet in Prague. Address: OUTLET ITALY shop: Revolucni 23, 110 00 Praha-Stare Mesto, Open 10.00 - 19.00, Mo - Sa. there you can buy clothes of famous designers like armani, dolchegabanna, escada, etc. with discounts up to -90%.
look on the Internet outlet-italy.eu - you can order online, delivery in Europe and Russia, you can pay by card or paypal.
You can also buy Bohemian Garnet jewelry there at very good prices.

Andi123, is 540 crowns for men's panties a normal price? These are the prices in the OUTLET ITALY shop that you advertised to us ... I just went through your link ...
аватар IREN_M
If you multiply 540 * by 1.6 "1.7" (ratio to the ruble) 900 rubles, this is not such a large amount for a quality item.
