what tour operator?

"Algol" is a tour operator, and one of the oldest in Ukraine. Which speaks for itself...

To be honest, I've never even heard of this.

I had an air tour Prague-Dresden, from Kyiv to fly to Prague for 2 hours, departure early in the morning, and by dinner already at the hotel, and by bus from Lviv it is very tiring and now it’s also hot.

Many thanks for the responses!

Kyiv travel agency TATUR makes bus tours departing from Kyiv by train to Lviv and then by bus...
Good hotels...
I traveled with them Lviv-Prague-Dresden-Vienna-Budapest-Lviv.
There are no complaints.

Went with Algol in the tour "Meeting with Rome ". Everything was good - a good bus, quick check-in at the hotel, hotels are selected decent, a normal group leader. Good operator, I advise.

Oooooh. . . just returned from Hungary with Algol. The organization is just terrible. Maybe, of course, we came across such a guide (Mikh Nadezhda), but so incompetent that you don’t ask - she doesn’t know anything, or simply keeps silent. And it does not depend on what language you ask. Before the trip, I read the reviews (many negative ones), but still took the risk of going, which I regretted. Rather, I regretted that I went with this tour company! As they say: "cheap fish, filthy yushka." Just as bad as the goulash in Jaeger, for which we were charged 11 euros. The group is indignant - but Nadezhda is silent. The bus once again got lost in a dark city (due to the fact that neither the guide Nadezhda nor the drivers knew the way) - The group is indignant - but Nadezhda is silent, and only flares her nostrils. The group asks a question - Nadezhda pretends not to hear. And what does he get paid for? For taking the ball on a new tour, keeping silent, saving tea / coffee, which we were promised to pour at stops, getting kickbacks from low-quality coffee that they brought us to. .. Maybe it all depends on the guide, but if Algol keeps such guides and does nothing about it, this speaks of the level of the company.

Viator, you are probably out of luck with the leader, because. there were a lot of tours for the May ones, and for sure you got an inexperienced one. I advise you to write your review to the management of Algol on their website.
аватар viator
Probably, and from this it is so insulting. Algol wrote on the site. Well, there is something to remember :) I wrote a negative review not because it was just to criticize, I just think that since people read reviews, it means they care - therefore, you need to write your opinion, even (or even more so) if it is negative, thereby stimulating the quality of the organization. I wish you all only pleasant travels and impressions!

algol is a normal tour operator - at least better than a gal cruise

We went with my family to Bulgaria through Algol. The bus was terrible, there was very little space between the seats. If the back was laid out in front, then she lay on her knees, and even when not in the unfolded state, the seat rests on her legs. As we were told that this is the worst bus we have come across. But I really wanted to laugh when the bus was even worse on the way back and the guide said that we were unlucky, that this was the worst bus! When I approached and asked why such buses transport people over such long distances, that it is torment for passengers to travel for a day in such conditions, they answered me, but there are a lot of seats on the bus (more than 50 people, I don’t remember exactly how many). Who wants to go through Algol, be sure to ask how many seats are on the bus. If it’s 50 or more, then don’t torture yourself with a trip, look for other companies! Yes, I forgot to write, the buses were with Bulgarian numbers. So this can only apply to trips to Bulgaria.

We went to Budapest with "Algol", with a visit to Vienna. Impressions from the tour operator are generally positive: the "neoplan" bus is comfortable, the drivers are polite and friendly (thanks to Stepan and Mikhail), an excellent "live" guide in Budapest Victor, but dinner in Jaegere really does not reflect the "charms" of Hungarian cuisine. Hotel 3, but quite decent. Almost the whole group went to Vienna, and it seems everyone was happy. Summary: either we were lucky) or still people work normally. For us it was exploration trip, we will definitely go again, but on longer tours! Thank you Algo!

I went with Algol to Bulgaria - just a nightmare!!! Details are on their website. And buses have nothing to do with it, Algol just treats people like cattle. I do not recommend experimenting with this company. Such travel agencies discourage the desire to contact any travel agencies in general, and organize everything themselves, using low-cost airlines and hotel booking systems.

We went with Algol to Prague + Dresden. Generally good. True, they immediately took into account the experience of other vacationers and tried not to miss all the electives offered - and they did it right, because in this case the pace of the tour becomes simply frantic and there is simply not enough free time for a smooth acquaintance with the same Prague. The bus is good, but the toilet - and why use it, if they stopped often enough anyway (and almost always the toilets are free). On the front seats (the first row, or something), it seemed that the distance between the rows was a little narrower, the farther along the cabin. But these are design features of the bus (capacity is under 50, but no one was driving in the back row - and rightly so - the seat still does not recline there). In general, as I understand it, this is a matter of chance and the mood of a particular tourist ... So I do not agree that Algol should not be dealt with at all! Read, draw your own conclusions...

Dear!
You are just Algol's manager! Not a single sane person will ever leave a normal review about this hotbed of indifference! I have never seen a more disrespectful office! They treat customers like cattle to be milked, not like a normal person! Their motto - all do not care! You don't like it - we don't care! We stand all day at customs - do not care! Stop for a toilet in an open field - do not care. Lunch at a cafe with cockroaches - triple do not care! There is no tea, coffee, just water, movies or broken seats on the bus - Well, then you are out of luck! And we still don't care!

I'm sorry, office555, that you got so much from Algol, but I'm not a manager, and I have nothing to do with travel agencies. I just went to Prague (and Dresden as well) with Algol. And I got from the trip nothing less than I expected. But I won't deny the possibility that someone messed with Algol - after all, this was my first trip with them. So, not everything there is as bad as you know and write. Or you just expected something unearthly from them for little (relatively) money. That's the whole truth!

I’ll add a little about my trip: the bus is in very good condition, everything is intact, the drivers are sensible, they set films, and I even watched a couple (in particular, Peter FM, for which there was no time), they made coffee and tea, in an open field to the toilet didn't go. Sometimes they turned on the stove - it was stuffy, they had to ask to be cut down (there were those who disagreed - yes, but for 44 people to please ...). At the border there - yes, they stood for 3-4 hours - they said there was a shift change (cheated? Well, it's on their conscience), back - generally less than an hour. At night, on the way there, we stopped in Poland at a parking lot - despite the late hour, I drank Zupa Gulashova with pleasure. For breakfast we stopped at a place like a restaurant - there, honestly, I didn’t take much - a little expensive (but not a breeding ground for cockroaches). But I believe you - why would you lie ... We were honestly afraid of the same story - thank God we were a little more lucky ... Or they are learning. Do not know. But I can't lie! Believe it or not!

I don’t know about others, but I liked the tour to Hungary (leader Mick Nadezhda). One of the minuses is that the bus is not very comfortable, the night crossing was not very successful. At the beginning of the trip, the films were interesting, but on the way back, because of some kind of horror films, it was unrealistic to fall asleep and then the devil knows what I dreamed about. Another disadvantage was this: due to the inexperience of the drivers, they could not find their way to the hotel. They also could not get to Vac Street for the same reason. Some travelers were very annoying. And yet everyone was happy. You just need to treat everything with understanding. And the tour will be your pleasure!

Last year I went with "Algol" for the May holidays in Prague-Dresden. Everything was what was promised. The guides in the cities are not bad, without delays, delays (once they were late due to the fault of our tourists). The bus, however, is cramped (the distance between the seats). And so, I was satisfied. I am looking for a tour with them again.

write, please, who went with Algol to Prague-Dresden, is everything there as promised?
аватар yuravk
Depending on what you expected, and what, in fact, you yourself expect ... :)
If you take all the electives, be prepared that there will be practically no time left for independent walks. Those. in this case, the pace will be frantic. And if you refuse something, then it’s quite even very much. For example, I did not go on a river boat and did not go to Karlovy Vary, did not go to the performance of fountains and shadow theater. And everything is good! Visited (on my own) the Prague Zoo - super. :)
Dresden is worth a trip - for a general idea ...
аватар yuravk
It depends on what you were promised (misspelling) ...

Algol has the busiest buses, the slowest and most unfamiliar drivers, the lowest quality hotels and the lowest prices. Think to you. Personally, I prefer to pay extra (very little) and get a normal service. I recommend Kiev companies (Lviv almost all have the cheapest and the same service). (do not confuse the tour agent selling the tour (maybe Lviv), and the tour operator organizing the tour).
аватар office555
No guys who like Algol - you are either masochists or just don't know and can't imagine that everything can be organized at a normal level. There are normal firms: Feeria, Natalie, many other Kiev companies. But not this stable "Algol"!!!! It's just awful. Buses (old, cramped, stuffy), drivers (slow, poorly knowing the road), guides (not giving a damn, not fulfilling their duties), management (just as indifferent as the guides)!!! Worse than Algol is only Tour-Retour, which in general can leave tourists in the middle of Poland, because the bus broke down (all Lviv newspapers wrote about this) or promise one thing, but in reality give another (my friends told me about this).

Did you manage to find out anything about the "Accord-tour"? I plan to take a bus tour from them. Sincerely, S.B.
аватар yuravk
If I have something to compare with - then maybe I will agree ... But my (so far, I hope) only voyage with Algol did not leave such a rejection from this "Kantora" ... :) But I agree on one thing - everything is known in comparison ... By the way, and in comparing the financial capabilities of travelers: no matter how much I want, but for an air travel, alas, the gut is thin ...

On the May holidays I went with the "Accord-tour" to Vienna-Budapest. The bus is better than in "Algol", the hotels are better located, but the guide was very inexperienced and it was a complete flight: an extra hour (!) Waiting under the bus to go to the elective; there is nowhere to change money, but it turns out that the baths have to be paid in local currency, which was not warned in advance, the group is poorly organized, etc. etc. I come to the conclusion that a successful trip is someone who is lucky.

A couple of days ago I returned from the "Elegant Paris" tour, which includes France,
Austria, Germany and Hungary, from the travel agency Algol.
In general, the tour turned out not bad, if not for our guide Marina Zabrodskaya and the bus drivers. Marina demanded money from us for nothing! If a ticket to Disneyland cost 27 euros, and we paid 55. Full organization and excursions. For the money paid in Versailles, they did not even provide a guide! I couldn't really explain the location of the supermarket or metro. Bus drivers are just rude! not only that they could calmly leave a late person, while yelling obscenities, they even helped with difficulty to load the baggage! Treating him at random... I often had to take the subway around an unfamiliar city, because the bus broke down, or it was not intended according to the program, although we were not told anything about this .... In short, I will not go from this travel agency again. And I do not advise you.

Went on tour Steep vacation Krakow-Prague-Dresden from ALGOL. The training of the group leader was not conducted, we had Vasyl (I went on tour for the first time) and everyone felt it. One of the drivers acted as the leader of the group, while allowing himself to be rude to tourists. There were no 2 excursions from the tour program. We drove to Krakow for 14 hours, and were only 4 years old at the border.
If not for the good guides in the cities, the impression would be even more depressing.
TIP, how to go on a sightseeing tour, look at the rating and attitude to the work of the group leader !!! It is very important.
