We are going to Makadi Bay in early April, we are leaning towards Stella di mare garden makadi. Tell me, please, how is this area in general? Low tide/sea temperature/wind?
Budget up to $1000 for two or less. Previously, we were in Sharm at Reef oasis beach, we were very pleased. I would like something similar - a large hotel, with a huge territory, with good sea and good food. In principle, we are considering any option, just while the eye is hooked on Stella garden.
Can you suggest a good hotel in this price.

An excellent hotel with the absence of the sea and the presence of the wind.

Totally shallow? Strong wind ? I thought in April there was no discomfort with this ...

Or is it better to take nubia aqua beach resort?
аватар zolyshka111
It’s completely shallow, knee-deep at most, to swim, you need to go along a long pontoon, at the expense of the wind, it is there almost constantly, but for the summer it’s good, you won’t feel the heat. But the hotel itself, the food and the territory are of course super there.

I won’t say anything about the Nubian, I haven’t even heard of this hotel.

Take the Sunrise Royal Makadi hotel - the hotel is super! Tested on myself in January of this year)

I believe that Sunrise Makadi is cool..... But the budget does not allow...

In general, is it possible to go somewhere in Makadi Bay, for example, along the coast? Is there anything to see?
аватар zolyshka111
Well, you can probably walk along the coast, but there is nothing to see there. On the left are the beaches of hotels, on the right is the sea. But there is not a flat coastline, look at the map. There is no beautiful promenade in Stella.

Thanks for answers. Can you recommend a hotel for April up to $1000 for two?

I would not advise either Stella or Nubian in Makadi Bay for young people. According to Stella: the pontoon is terribly long until you get there ... There are many pensioners from Europe, Germans 60+. Makadi is not Charm and going somewhere there is not an option at all , except for hotels, there is NOTHING. Alcohol is the same as in many hotels, check-in, check-out too, well, they settled us at 11, instead of 14. The rooms are also ordinary, I did not see anything special. The second line and the view of the sea, sunset and sea breeze, alas ..... You can take a bus, you can walk, but the first line is better. On the first line, it’s practically impossible to use anything other than the sea, they didn’t really want to let us into the pool either. seafood: fish day on Tuesday and eat tasteless crabs, squid and shrimp (I liked them more in the Old City), a lot of sweets, but you can choose them in the other five. A lot of PR for the hotel!!!!

I would advise: 1) In no case do not take a tour now, buy cheaper closer to your vacation! 2) Then you can fit into Sunrise on a budget. 3) Savoy's sister Siera is located in Soho, where the bar near the stage from the hotel was free of charge and plus you can have a good rest in Sharm with the saved money on the tour. 4) Of course, I'm not a great adviser, BUT I LIKE: Novotel, Rehana, Albatross. 5) Choose YOURSELF, read reviews, choose what suits you on vacation.

_699603, I don't know when you were at Stella, but at the beginning of November the food there was excellent, tastier than a year earlier at Novotel.
PS Sunrise Makadi will never be at the price of Stella Makadi.

Thanks a lot for the replies! I'll ask you more about Rehana, the travel agency inclines me to choose Sharm, Rehana.
Now doubt

Rehana is in Nabq, keep that in mind.

"great hotel, with a huge territory, with good sea and good food."
- Everyone has their own definition of the word "good".

yla_ignatyuk,
we rested in the Beach, went to visit the Garden.
-the hotel has many pools, there is a "wave"
-hills, it seems, two
-bars are good, food is also on the level - themed evenings, everything is cooked deliciously
- the hotel is all in greenery, recently restored
- the beach of the Stella Beach hotel, large, clean, there is wind protection, toilets and showers are available, there is a bar and a grill restaurant nearby
-the sea is far away, buses go, but you can also take a walk along the "dachas". about the sea: often low tides, a stationary pier leads to the big water, probably 600 meters. but it's worth it - a lot of fish, the water is perfectly clean, there is something to see. on the pier a couple of sun loungers for things. approximately in the middle of the pier there is a descent into the lagoon, an ideal place for those who cannot swim. but there is no such entrance as in the Reef.
- Animation diligent, interesting. in the evening theme nights, lotto, karaoke. I don't remember discos
when we rested, it was possible to use the entire infrastructure of both hotels. is the hotel worth the money? clearly.
... still the sea, as in the Reef ...

stranded, low tide, wind
аватар zolyshka111
YaSlavnaYa, the reef is like a reef, more dead than alive, there are not very many fish (it was in early November), there is a lot of garbage in the water near the pontoon (((Yachts sail, often stains from fuel on the water. The sea didn’t impress me at all, I seen much better.

zolyshka111,
the taste and color, as they say ... I like it
аватар sk_lora
You should not go to a hotel where it is 600 m to the sea along the pier. Well, only donkeys go to Nabq in Sharm (there is no sea, the wind, if you get along the longest pontoon to the sea, there is a great chance of drowning due to strong currents).
In Makadi Bay there is a complex of 5 hotels Grand Makadi, Makadi Palace and others. There is a normal entrance to the sea from the shore, a middle reef (in Sharm, of course, it is better), there is almost no wind, and you can walk to a salt lake with fossils - this is very unusual for Egypt.
аватар zolyshka111
sk_lora, that's right, but Grand Makadi is more expensive than the author can afford...

We rested in Makadi in Sunrise in October. The hotel is super, but the corals went to look at Fort Arabesque and just on the pontoon of the complex of 5 hotels, the Red Sea Hotel. I have not seen the best corals in Sharm. Question to sk_lora, where is it better in Sharm?
аватар sk_lora
Hello natalex0509.
As for the coral in Makadi Bay, it’s really not bad at Fort Arabesque, mainly because you can snorkel over it and watch the underwater world from a distance of 50-60 cm. in the west of the complex of 5 hotels Grand Makadi, Makadi Palace, etc.
Corals in Makadi Bay are much worse and poorer than in Sharm.
In Sharm, I liked the coral at the Baron hotel, it is not just beautiful - it is chic and unusual, at Sheraton Sharm - there is a 900 m long coastline, secluded bays, an entrance to the sea both from the shore and from the pier and a lot of marine life. Siva Sharm has a good coral if you sail north, i.e. towards Baron hotel.
I was very disappointed with the coral in Sharks Bay from the Siva Sharm hotel west to the Piramisa hotel.
