At the airport, of course. We usually buy ORANGE.

You can't buy anything at the airport other than orange. Our orange died after two days, practically did not use. Better, of course, Vodafone, but you can buy it at the hotel and more expensive.
The only hotel - Fantasia, where there are problems, there is only one operator, not sure, but it seems only orange.

Good communication in Egypt is only in large villages and close to them. If the hotel is far from populated areas, then any operator can have problems.
It should be borne in mind that a feature of Internet packages in Egypt is that they are divided into Internet for social. networks and for other needs. The division in each package is different, but roughly on the social network you will have 15-20% of the total volume indicated in the package.
There are no unlimited data plans in Egypt
Based on personal experience and feedback from friends, the consumption of the Internet is somehow tricky, I would say 3 times more than it actually is.
What to buy is difficult to advise, rummage on the Internet, everyone has their own needs. WE by Telecom Egypt is a state-owned monopoly provider, but it is mainly used as a wired option, Vodafone is a good one with good coverage, but an expensive operator, Etisalat has heard a lot of complaints, I would probably recommend Orange. Not ideal, but quite tolerable option for a vacation
It is better to buy at the airport. Be careful when buying

I wonder how you can be careful when buying?
At the airport we bought the maximum package of orange. Maximum!
And he died two days later. We used mail, wrote a little on viber.
We sent a dozen photos to viber. Everything.

I don't know how your internet was going.
But about attentiveness, this is to the fact that I have heard more than once that when buying, they pay for a SIM card with one volume of Internet, and they get a SIM card with Internet 2-3 times less. They just deceive. They don't give that sim card.
And the write-off itself is incomprehensibly happening, it is also written off more than you spend in fact, I wrote about this above.

Depending on which hotel you are going to. The internet is very bad in this area. We were in Sataya where we caught only Orange and then 3 divisions shone. Internet is disgusting. At the airport, at the Etisalat counter, we were asked which hotel we were going to, and immediately the network did not catch it there.

This is the second year we have been buying a WE by Telecom Egypt card at the airport. Convenient - there is an application that tracks traffic, the cost is normal (even a little lower than Orange or Vodafone), the speed is excellent, coverage - in Sharm and the surrounding area - is normal. You can top up without problems at the offices of this operator, etc. So, I recommend WE by Telecom Egypt - there was no scam with Gigabytes (as in Vodafone with friends) and the speed is more stable than Orange (again compared with other vacationers ). Oh, and there was never a queue at their counter at Sharm airport (I haven’t seen it) - people don’t know such an operator.
