Paradise Island (excursion) is called Paradise? And how to get to the island of Mahmeya?
Do different operators carry to the same Paradise Island? I heard about the islands of Mahmeya, Giftun, Paradise, Zeituna. What is the name of the excursion to Mahmeya Island? Which island did you go to when buying an excursion to Paradise?

There is one big island called Giftun. It has different beaches, from different sides, under different names: Mahmya and Paradise. I was also interested in this question and I was engaged in it for a long time, collecting all kinds of information from different sites. In one place, I found a map showing Giftun Island and all the other "so-called islands" on the same island. And initially I was also going to take excursions to all the islands, they are so delightfully beautiful in the photo. After talking with tourists on other sites who have already taken these excursions, they only confirmed that this is one island. In addition to Zeytun, I hear about it for the first time, I will have to find out what it is and where?

Zeitouna Island is a beach island with restaurants in El Gouna. On the island you can see the aquarium, which represents almost all families of Red Sea fish.
As for Giftun - that is, you can ask the operator in advance which part they will take - to Mahmeya or Paradise? What part were you on and from which operator?

I haven’t been to any part yet, I just informed myself in advance so as not to get into a mess.

Thank you for information!

I would still recommend not Paradise Island, but coral islands

@ksuhsenka
What are coral islands? Where are they? What is the name of? Maybe you mean coral reefs?
аватар ksuhsenka
I went on excursions in Hurghada, which were offered by guides. The tour was called the Coral Islands. We also stopped near beautiful reefs, but there were much more of them than on the Paradise Island excursion - the underwater world was more beautiful there. And they landed us, one might say, on a desert island strewn with broken corals. The duration of the tour is the same from 9 am to 4 pm. Ask your guide. I went to Coral Islands 6 years ago, and Paradise Island 2 years ago.

yes, as already written - Paradise and Mahmeya are beaches in different parts of the same island.
But people who have been on both, all advise to go to Mahmey. It seems to be a little more expensive, but you spend there not 1.5 hours, but half a day. And lunch at a restaurant on the island. It seems to be, maybe I confuse something or different agencies have different ways, I write as I remember :)
I myself am going to Makhmei, I really like the sand as white flour and the beautiful sea. This beach is considered more VIP than Paradise. Well, the pictures are definitely prettier (for my taste, I saw pictures of friends - you can’t tell them from the Maldives, for example)

A couple of days ago I looked at these excursions with photos again and came to the conclusion that Mahmeya beach is the most beautiful of all. On this beach there is where to hide from the sun, a lot of umbrellas made of palm leaves, some other so-called "buildings" are also under palm leaves. There are tables and benches under the umbrellas for seating, as well as plenty of space to lie down, I mean in the shade.
Although Giftun beach is also beautiful.
аватар langorian
I completely agree! Mahmeya is more beautiful! The whole question is that all tour operators call the tour simply Paradise Island, and it turns out that you can’t find out which part of it you will be taken to? That's why I asked which tour operators take where ...

I also asked myself this question, and as I found out, this tour is not called in any way, at least on the German site. The reviews write different things: an excursion - scuba diving or something like that, and then they bring it to this beach. Some write that they bought it directly at the hotel, but do not write in which hotel they rested, it must be assumed that they sell this tour in most hotels or maybe in all? We are talking about Hurghada, Makadi Bay...
Others bought from their own tour operators, such as Neckermann. (again, this is a German tour.o.)
And everyone writes different prices: from 35.00 euros to 55.00, apparently who will sell how and who will buy how.
Most likely, when buying a "diving" tour, you will need to specify which beach you will then be taken to.
And they bought these tours or from tour.o. with whom you arrived or at the hotel agency. It is not advised to buy from beach sellers, because. boats with tourists are very crowded.
Will have to look around the place.
аватар Elia7777
and now I've seen a few reviews - people went to Makhmey, bought from beach sellers, and cost $ 20-25. In short, upon arrival I will find out from beach sellers where they are going to be taken and toooorgs ... fairy. hate the last one
аватар Elia7777
by the way, those people didn’t know where they were going and didn’t even know that the island of paradise is not the real name of the island :) that is, they took an excursion and by default went to Makhmei (their pictures eloquently speak about this :))) This is of course good, but on the contrary, I would not want to - you go to Makhmey, and you come to Paradise ...
аватар jarcey
please tell me the approximate cost for these excursions
аватар langorian
We went from the S7 Tour - the host side of the ALS Tour to Paradise Island, part of Paradise - $ 35, the tour also included fishing and a visit to the coral reserve
аватар Elia7777
from Hurghada to the island there are the following excursions (in city agencies, and not from sellers on the beach, it is more expensive on the beach):
1. 15-20 dollars - these are rides to 2-3 coral islands on the road for 45-60 minutes and 1.5-2 hours on a paradise island (without using sunbeds and umbrellas, but they are not needed for such a time!)
2. 25-35 dollars is a whole day on Paradise (from 10 to 15 on the island and plus an hour there and an hour back)
3. 45-55 dollars for Mahmey, for the whole day.
I noticed that in all the tour agencies in the city they dissuade Mahmei, like, let's Paradise - this is the same island, etc. But it’s not for nothing that they dissuade them, it’s just that less profit apparently goes to them for Makhmey) So those who want specifically for Makhmey, don’t listen to this nonsense (and in all agencies)
In the Marina (a district in Hurghada, a beautiful promenade, in the center, you can walk from McDonald's) - there are many good shops and restaurants. So there is an office Mahmya.com - as far as I understand, this is the most official representative of this place.
They have many yachts with the same inscription opposite. They work somewhere from 8-9 in the morning until 13-14 in the afternoon.
And in conclusion - it is NECESSARY to go to this island :) It is very beautiful there. We didn’t get out of the water just with my husband.
аватар langorian
does it mean that it is impossible to get to Mahmey from tour operators? only to Paradise?
аватар hessen
Just returned from Egypt, took this tour, the island is called Giftun, from Paradis beach to Mahmeya beach 500-700 meters. I’ll write a more detailed review of the excursions later, but I didn’t like it at all!
аватар langorian
Yes, these 2 parts are really not far from each other, but the guide forbade us to move to another part! what didn't you like?
аватар Elia7777
And I am absolutely delighted! Very cool - my husband also still remembers. In general, there was not a single dissatisfied one, especially after Makhmei - there are many Europeans there, everyone floated away with glowing eyes :)
Yes, and in Paradise it is simpler, cheaper - but still unreal color of water. you can’t find this anymore in budget Egypt or Turkey (at least we didn’t find it). They didn’t regret it for a second, many, as if reading our thoughts, said that they would go every day :) But of course, everything is different for everyone, you can’t please everything at once, so it’s a matter of taste ...

Overall I didn't like the tour. We bought it at the water center of the Dana Beach (DB) hotel, first snorkeling on 4 reefs, and then 1.5 hours on a paradise beach (35.00 euros). Near each reef there were so many boats with tourists and tourists in the water that it was not clear who was more: tourists in the water or fish? Each instructor constantly gathers the group together, everyone pushes, swims at each other, and it is not clear what to do first: look at the fish or fight back and brush away the flippers of others, so as not to be hit on the head or scratched. Bruises and abrasions are still guaranteed. It is not possible to calmly watch the fish, the instructor constantly swims somewhere and everyone should swim in his direction. And with such a crowd of people in the water, you have to constantly be distracted from the fish and watch, where is my group?
In the last swim, I did not swim with the group, so I was able to watch the fish a little, of all the promised fish I saw only the Napoleon fish (I mean on this excursion). I did not like it very, very much, what is called mass tourism.
аватар hessen
Now about the paradise beach: DB does not have any sunbeds or umbrellas on this beach, maybe that's why they bring it only for 1.5 hours ... And so we landed on the island: oh my! how many people are there? The instructor led us to the right, towards the Mahmeya beach. After walking 200 meters, we stopped because there were fewer people there, otherwise it was impossible to land anywhere. 3-4 steps into the water and the depth is shoulder-deep, the water is coldish, cloudy with some small floating algae. Not big reefs, there were fish there, but in muddy water it’s not particularly pleasant for me to swim, and you can’t see the fish at all at a depth. And the sand is not at all fine and delicate, and even small shells around. (We were on another excursion, there is sand! The whitest, most delicate!) That's all I didn't like. BUT! I think we're just unlucky! One tourist in the hotel told me that she took a similar excursion from Teztur, they have sunbeds and umbrellas on this beach, and were there for 3 hours.
After landing on the shore, they were led to the left, there is just a cafe, and it is shallow there, and the water is clean, warm. This is exactly the case when they did not want to get out of the water.
аватар hessen
But there was still a plus: the boat ride on the sea was a pleasure. There were a lot of places, they didn’t sit on each other, you could calmly admire the sea. The boat almost did not rock, maybe we were not going fast? When we approached the pier, one could admire all the coastal hotels, and there, somewhere in the distance, small mountains in the desert.
But! If I ever go to Egypt again, I will not take such an excursion again.
аватар Elia7777
you were not lucky with the organization of the excursion - we were left to ourselves, we didn’t have to swim in a group anywhere, the water was gorgeous - transparent, transparent. And they didn’t look at the fish at all - we have a coral reef near the hotel, my husband swam for a couple of minutes and said that he didn’t want to waste time on them, just splashing in the water was much more pleasant. near the hotel there were enough fish from us, and on the way at stops you could see enough of them. Well, about the mass character ... This is the law of life - as a rule, what is massive is cheap. And vice versa. Next time take Makhmey, it is more expensive there, but there are no crowds of people, and in general everything is one level higher.
As for sun loungers or umbrellas - it does not depend on Tez Tour. In any street agency you will be offered a more expensive tour, where you spend more time on the island - and then you can use sunbeds.
In short, it was not just your day :) Next time I hope you're lucky)))

Elia7777 and from whom did you take the tour? You were on Mahmei, I understand?
аватар weeka
in my opinion there is nothing interesting there .. I have not been there, but from afar I saw what it is .. one huge island, on the one hand Paradise Island, on the other Mahmeya ... they do not differ in appearance, except perhaps for the inscription)) not a single palm.
I myself was diving, there is something to see there .. we had two swims, in different places, a lot of living creatures, just delighted ...
аватар Elia7777
but it seems to me that it’s hard to judge something from a picture from afar)))))))) in our hotel they generally bred tourists like this - on excursions they let them dive, and then they showed the island from afar and said - they say, there is only sand - you want there you can bathe for 2 hours, or better lie down on the sand near the hotel, and now we will show you a super-duper fish place in the sea. And of course everyone agreed ... And then they bit their nails when they saw our photos :)))
It’s just more profitable for them to stop the boat at sea, it’s free, so they save money, because in order to launch tourists to the island, you have to pay boatmen who will transport tourists from depth to aground.
In general, whoever was on Makhmei understands me! A heavenly place, which is appreciated only by Europeans, and ours often spare money.
But Paradise, if for a couple of hours, is also great !!!

Elia7777 and from whom did you take the tour? You were on Mahmei, I understand?
аватар Elia7777
langorian, I'm sorry, I forgot that I didn't answer...
bought in an ordinary street agency - 50 for mahmeya and 10 for paradise eventually paid.
Next time I think, if I happen to be in Hurghada, we will definitely buy tickets directly from the official representation of this piece of land. I wrote - which is in the marina. It’s just that when we arrived there, it was already closed, but we wanted to go the next day, so we bought it in the city. the main thing is not to listen to them "it's the same island blah blah blah" ...
share your impressions! we were not indifferent :)

Paradise island in the Red Sea in Hurghada alone. It has beaches: paradise island, Russian island and mahmeya, one after another. Here you can see it in the photos: http://www.life-paradise.ru/istorii-turistov-egipte.pg9.html We bought a ticket in Hurghada, brought and dropped us off on a paradise island. We passed the first beach, which is called a paradise island, then after 100 meters - a Russian island, and after 3 meters from us was "Mahmeya" surrounded by a thatched fence. Mahmeya differs only in that there are sun loungers, and the price is more expensive there. If just to a paradise island with a towel - from 120 Egyptian pounds, and to Mahmeya with sun loungers and an individual trip - from 250 pounds. So this is one island, and the beaches are 20 meters from each other.
