Take the Canon D10 (from simple, budget and high-quality), it has proven itself well. Now out of production, but you can still find it on sale. We just bought the next D20, but so far I can’t recommend it - I like it on land, especially macro, and we’ll test it at sea a little later.

We have a Canon PowerShot G11 and a special underwater box for it WP-DC 34 (also suitable for the G12 model). The manufacturer shows a depth of up to 40 m, but we only snorkeled a maximum of 3 with him. The quality of the photos is excellent if you manually set it up, or at least in a special one. shoot mode. Big + manual settings, which you can additionally specify saving photos in RAW (raw format), which, if something doesn’t work out, roughly speaking, allows you to re-photograph again (I’m not a very advanced photographer, so don’t be offended if experts say something wrong) )). The main thing not to forget after each diving session is to rinse it in fresh water (we did it in the shower on the beach, well, in the evening we thoroughly dipped the box in fresh water in the room for 30 minutes with periodic pressing of all buttons under water), do not keep it on the sun (we perfectly adapted a small beer cooler bag for this), well, before long-term storage, do not forget to lubricate the rubberized ring with silicone grease).
