We both cameras have a box for underwater shooting. Boxing was bought separately, specifically for this model. Moreover, for the daughter's canon, I had to write out from Moscow. We did not have.
Cameras were purchased separately. We have a professional, my daughter has a mirrored soap dish, not bad for young people.

I have a Sony camera. bought 5 years ago. For him, boxing has already been discontinued. until you take a picture, the fish will swim away.

We have a 2.5 year canon camera (the blue one - this model costs 9t.r now, the next model similar to canon is already 18t.r) - the quality of the photos is just super. Even on a huge screen they look like professional ones. both at sea and in the pool). You can hurt on the asphalt, wallow in the sand, not a scratch. During this time I haven’t seen anything better and don’t want to!

Underwater photos - in Egypt - and the video is amazing in quality. They shot in other seas and oceans, but of course not looking for such beauties. I just don’t know if it’s possible to take it to a depth of more than 3 m, that is, with scuba gear.

Take the Canon D10 (from simple, budget and high-quality), it has proven itself well. Now out of production, but you can still find it on sale. If you're interested, check out the underwater photos from it in my profile. We just bought the next D20, but so far I can’t recommend it - I like it on land, especially macro, and we’ll test it at sea a little later.

We have a Canon PowerShot G11 and a special underwater box for it WP-DC 34 (also suitable for the G12 model). The manufacturer shows a depth of up to 40 m, but we only snorkeled a maximum of 3 with him. The quality of the photos is excellent if you manually set it up, or at least in a special one. shoot mode. Big + manual settings, which you can additionally specify saving photos in RAW (raw format), which, if something doesn’t work out, roughly speaking, allows you to re-photograph again (I’m not a very advanced photographer, so don’t be offended if experts say something wrong) )). The main thing not to forget after each diving session is to rinse it in fresh water (we did it in the shower on the beach, well, in the evening we thoroughly dipped the box in fresh water in the room for 30 minutes with periodic pressing of all buttons under water), do not keep it on the sun (we perfectly adapted a small beer cooler bag for this), well, before long-term storage, do not forget to lubricate the rubberized ring with silicone grease). I can send examples of photos to the post office, or if I get my hands on it, I will somehow post it to my review.

In fact, there are no troubles with it (you don’t need to rinse anything and can lie everywhere). And if the child still likes to take a picture, you can drop it.

Rinse it, just as well. After the sea - in fresh water.

They haven’t done this once in 3 years. Maybe we were lucky?

Maybe.

In April last year, I bought an Olympus X-560WP at Foxtrot for the equivalent of $50. The camera has already survived 4 trips to Egypt with daily diving to a depth of 3-4 meters, although the maximum depth of 3 meters is written.
The camera is positioned as a budget camera, although sales started at $ 160. Now it will most likely be difficult to find (the model is a little outdated). I haven't seen it for sale anywhere else since I bought it. Probably some leftovers for sale.
The quality of the photo on land is quite normal, as in other things and under water. Somewhere around 30 percent of the photos (underwater) will then be deleted, either due to not very good color reproduction (illuminance drops sharply with depth), or from the quality of the picture itself, tk. the fish do not want to stand still and pose)) + the excitement of the sea + your movements.
The best photos are obtained under the very surface of the water or on the coral, where the depth does not exceed 0.5-1m.
The photo needs to be processed at home by any of the photo editing programs (the color gamut is significantly improved and the muddy greenish tint is removed). Do not rush to delete photos when viewed on a camera or TV screen, they are not always a correct assessment of quality. Video quality is ok

I bought an Olympus Tough TG-810 digital camera 2 years ago (it can withstand up to 10 meters). Rugged shockproof sealed housing. At the time of purchase, its price was 357 USD. I do not know if it is on sale, but I am very pleased with it.
